I was able to spend several days at Southeast Exposure and enjoy several of the awesome tours. The Eagle Island Kayaking was a wonderful first-time kayaking experience. The ocean was so calm and it was great to see eagles, seals, and other sealife. Rainy and Autumn were awesome guides, helping us to learn more about the Ketchikan area.
The Tatoosh Island tour, led by Trevin and Sasha, was longer and also great. Both guides really knew a lot about the area and animals. Trevin let us hold a (harmless) jellyfish and showed us how to "play" a bull kelp! (Brass players have the advantage.) Sasha helped us to see an immature bald eagle on the ground, that flew off just above our kayaks!
The zip line course was awesome. Nothing like flying through the old-growth rainforest trees! Rainy and Grace helped us feel confident in our aerial experience. There were a few optional challenge bridges that were a little scary at first but ended up being really fun. Zooming over the ocean was incredible and the last zip had some additional bounce.
The boatman tour, guided by Rainy was fantastic. Part of the fun was zooming around in the little zodiac boats and seeing awesome sights, but another incredible experience was quietly observing a dall porpoise. As we watched this lovely creature, Rainy brought out some hot cocoa and freshly baked cookies which was the icing on the cake of a great trip. Betsy, Jared, and KT really know how to take care of their guests and give us a fantastic time! Thanks, Southeast Exposure!!!
