Installed as per instruction. I've been around doors and windows awhile. The door shield is metal on metal. Yes checked prior to installing. Called compan . They said send photos and that was the end of story. So now have a door that's very hard to close.
I have installed probably 25 of these systems. The truth is they work great on more modern doors that have been installed properly. Newer doors have a gap all the way around the door and weather stripping. If the door is already tight or rubs in some manner, this system will make the situation tighter and make it hard to open and close the door. I have had great results when you understand how the system works and install it in the right applications.
