How rented house was nice as the beach was so close to the house. There were less rooms then we needed but that's our fault. The service is great as our dryer broke and they gave us a new one in 1 day.

This place is WAY over priced. We had multiple appliance failures in our beach villa which cost $6k for the week. We also had service issues particularly at the beginning of our stay. And if you like to feel like cattle you ll love wearing a plastic band around your wrist all week to be able to enjoy the resort accommodations which cost $20 per person per day on top of your fee to stay. Hope you don t lose your room key because if anyone finds it they can easily charge whatever they like to your room.

We have been here a week and I have to say this is one of the FRIENDLYS and AMAZING place we have been too. Although it s Red tide , the staff has made it so awesome to be here. One particular lady Judeen at the scoops place , what an absolutely sweetheart of a person !!! She was so kind and nice to talk to you and super happy to help us.
We also had a flat tire with a nail in ( which was stressful since we drove from NY here) but they came it and fixed it ... NO CHARGE!!!! And within 1/2 hr of us calling !!!!! What an amazing place this is . Who cares about RED TIDE..... this place and most of all the staff , including Lysol who checked us in made this trip one of the best anniversary s our family had!!!

Nice spacious room. Beautiful views of the Gulf (beyond the Seagraves and palms on the resort property). We had our own kayaks to explore the waters. ...but they have plenty of kayaks, bikes and other rentals for those who want to explore the island and waters. It's not as built up as Sanibel. But we liked Captiva for its quaint island feel (even though there are plenty of large beautiful homes and mansions, that can be seen) that line the waters on both the eastern and western sides of the island. And...there were plenty of gift shops, art galleries and more (if you want to see more..Sanibel is just south of Captiva...with plenty more places to spend your money!)

Grounds were beautiful, beaches weren t super crowded and nice umbrella service at the north beach. The tennis villa/beach villa end is like a different resort to an extent, outdated common areas and staff not super pleasant. The main pool area is more pleasant and more upscale. The umbrella service was horrible on the beach villa end. He refused to get up and move an umbrella for me and my baby until I told him I would inform the front desk at how rude he was. Customer service individuals were mediocre unless you called the front desk, they seemed to always want to make things right which was nice. The place was enjoyable I don t think we will go again but if you want an easy resort and don t mind a bit of an older look on the exteriors of the villas then I think it won t disappoint. Golf cart is a must and the room was clean and updated. Biggest downfall = the pool is 48in for the water slide. I saw this nowhere before booking!!! My daughter was sooooo upset....and it was one of the reasons I booked this resort in the first place...

From the outside, some resort buildings look incredibly dated and not well maintained. Thankfully inside, the bedroom is fine, with a very comfortable bed and clean linens. The bathroom and kitchen are dated but are at least very clean. Overall, this is a 3 star resort to me, not 4. Closer to a Holiday Inn than a Hilton. Workers were generally nice. Oh and don't try and find your room after dark for the first time. Building and room numbers are impossible to see at night (at least on the green buildings).

Paid extra for a water view, when we arrived, the unit had no water view at all. Completely overgrown bushes... that was the view... Brought this up with the front desk and not much was done to assist. Floors and walkways were filthy.. roaches on catwalks, roaches inside elevators.
We cut our trip short and left a day earlier. I was told that they will provide a credit and have still not received anything...

Great place to be! Beautiful beach! The cottages are small with 2 beds, 2 bath but sleep 8. The 3 pools and spa are lovely and located just feet from the ocean. Sunset beach is a great place to be with complimentary chairs, towels and umbrellas. It's a great place to go shelling and the shops all around are one of a kind. Land's End and different areas get their own pool but the shared ones are mentioned above. The golf course is very pretty. The reserve is filled with animals that are a joy to see

We stayed at the resort two nights over new years....

We stayed at the resort two nights over new years. The location is absolutely beautiful, Captiva is a great place, we visit it often.
New years dinner at the Harbor Side Bar and Grill was an absolut rip off. We started with the buffet which was tiny and cramped into a small area. The buffet food was fine. We barely started eating the buffet food when the main course arrived. One totally charred maincourse had to be returned, it simply was not edible. Fish and lobster were totally overcooked. The dessert buffet was an embarrassment. There were serious hygienic issues. For example used napkins laying beside the food. No tongs available, one had to pick the desert pieces with your fingers, half eaten pastries on plates on the buffet.
Rooms: they are very nice, but I guess for $550 I do not want to share it with ants or small bugs.
We also had during the entire stay to look at huge dirty laundry bags outside our rooms. When we arrived there were 3 there when we left 5.
We had a wonderful time with our kayak, the resort flaws could not spoil our water experience. The front desk staff was very friendly.

We had our wedding here last year and it could not have been more perfect here. Malissa was fantastic to work with, the venues and locations were beautiful, food was spectacular (recommend the bbq food) and the surrounding resort was very laid backed and relaxing.

Many people complain about stressful weddings and not being able to enjoy it, but at South Seas that was not the case. Can t wait to go back and stay again in the future.

We spent our 5 year anniversary weekend at the South Seas resort. The management and staff are top notch, all very friendly and very helpful. Our room was at the Harborside with a view of the gulf. When walked into the room with dolphins playing in the channel outside our window we knew it was going to be a great stay. The views from our room were magnificent. We spent plenty of time relaxing on our balcony. The golf course is a fun, well-maintained par 3 course with awesome views of the gulf. The fitness room is well equipped with a nice view of the harbor. The whole property is maintained and in good condition with wildlife all around especially the cute bunnies. The Harborside restaurant has good food and friendly service. The Captive provisions company is a great little store that makes delicious sandwiches. The beach is beautiful with a chair/towel, umbrella service and the sunset celebration is not to be missed. We had a great weekend and look forward to staying again to even more of what South Seas has to offer. Thank you.

Stayed in the marina at the resort. Walking distance to beach. 3 pools, but no adult only pool. Lots of helpful staff. Small beach at high tide, but has a bar and snack grill right on the beach. Resort offers a free trolley bus to nearby shops.

Overall room looks decent and amenities are solid. Realized there was a huge ant problem in our room. Ants on counter, ants on floor, ants on our stuff. Pretty awful customer experience. Tried to let them know a bunch of our food had been ruined and literally called 3 times, left my name and number, and was told a manager would call. Still never heard back, response I got was that I could try calling back later. If your room has no ants and you have no issues that require help then you should be good. Our experience was not that however. Was our honeymoon trip and definitely anticipated better.

We have been going to the Pink Shell at Fort Myers Beach for our Anniversary the last 6 years. This year we wanted to try something new, so we booked a 5 day 4 night stay at the South Seas Island Resort. From the first day everything has been wonderful. We Love the free trolley, it is very convenient and makes getting around the beautiful resort very easy. Julia in customer service was great assisting us with items we needed but could not bring on an airplane. The staff was incredible especially Shelby and Kennedy that work at the Pointe Restaurant. We received top notch service and they made us feel like we had known them for years. We will highly recommend South Seas Island Resort to our family and friends. We are looking forward to returning with our kids and grandkids to the best resort that we have ever stayed at! Thank You.

The stars are there for the really great location....

The stars are there for the really great location. The deductions for the disappointed expectations, which are linked to the hotel price. The rooms are rather "grubby" - for what you do not count anywhere else $ 100. Management is overwhelmed, if you have to complain about: at check-in after four hours times even asked if the room was finished. Although previously the mobile number deposited, but this is just not in the system. Aha. And then first assigned a totally smoky room. Unfortunately, the description also does not match the circumstances - which may be due to the tour operator (TUI). To find a solution (simply: a missing bed) the colleagues are not / at least not cooperative. And so you have to sleep on the "sofa bed" - that's not! #meiden - a camping lounger is more comfortable ...

What a WONDERFUL TIME we had staying at South Seas...

What a WONDERFUL TIME we had staying at South Seas Island Resort. The staff were wonderful and we recall Jacques Louis. He helped get us checked in, when we had a mishap with our reservation. His care and concern for our family having a pleasant visit was a top priority for him. We were very pleased with his professionalism and customer service and look forward to coming back again. The fishing is AWESOME!! Bring your tackle and boat, Kayak or canoe. So many hot spots to fish. They have a place to store your boat or paddle craft. They sell bait as well. The fitness gym is awesome! Large and has all the equipment to train while your there. Great places to run short or long distances. Rent a BIKE when you arrive for the week, great way to tour the island. Quit and relaxing resort. Nice pools and many of them. Tennis courts are very clean and the golf course is beautiful overlooking the beach. They have a huge place to play soccer or frisbee it s FANTASTIC!! Bring your mask, snorkel and fins, lots of places to explore. We walked down by the jetty and while snorkeling saw HUNDREDS of Snook and a lot of manatee. I ve never seen so many Snook in one place staked on each other and HUGE monster sized Snook! Made lots of friends and we had a blast as a family!!!

Wow where to begin. The entire place is easily 30+ years old based on the design and condition of the halls and structure. I have seen Motel 6s with better looking interiors than this place. When we first arrived we noticed that the toilet had fecal matter and cigarette ashes in and around the toilet. When we called the front desk to inform them, instead of being polite and understanding we were greeted with a very hostile response. We were told that someone cleaned it already, not sure if that s implying that we were the ones to make it dirty but that s completely unacceptable from a customer service perspective. To make matters worse the freezer smelled like a fish died in it weeks ago and marinated in the filth for weeks. When we called again we finally spoke to someone who said they would send someone to come take us to our new room. Then we waited over an hour for them to arrive which after a few more calls someone finally did.

The second room we were given was much much better and cleaner. The design was updated and more sleek. Jacques personally came out to show us two other rooms to choose from. For that reason I debated updating the review from 1 to 2 stars but to me it was too little too late.

This is one of the most exceptional all inclusive resorts I have ever had the pleasure to enjoy. It really is a gem. I'm rather surprised it doesn't receive more publicity - but I suppose that is good! It is very secluded, and even among dozens, if not hundreds of guests, it feels very private and as if I am not just another room occupancy. The resort staff are some of the most hospitable I've met in the industry, and made us feel very welcome. While the pricetag isn't cheap and not within everyone's budget, you really get a lot more than you pay for here! I just can't say enough how much I have enjoyed my stay. I will definitely be making more visits and planning more vacations here in the future!

I m not sure who to blame. But everyday I stayed on the hotel I was running into issues. It wasn t a pleasant vacation. First day I walked into the lobby I ran into my first problem, doing my check in my reservation was canceled I had to spent quite long time there until they figured it out, then later on that day I wanted to get some room service or at least get some water to drink and they told me they had no room service or place for me to get some water at. The next day I went to the pool and I was told that my room had a check out (unbelievable). My room key didn t work which I had to go back around 3-5miles back to the lobby to solve this issue, some how I get to the Lobby and yes I had an early check even though I booked for 3 night. I spent a lot of my vacation time running through all this issues. And if it wasn t enough when I get to the pool. I stepped into the restaurant to have lunch. Horrible customer service, she was very rude (maybe having a bad day taking it on us.) We had to ask for a different server. We ordered some food and got a moldy burger bread. It was disgusting. We called our second nicer server and told her what has happened and she took care of it by bringing another burger. Which the second sandwich had also black/green mold. The manager had to come out this time to apologize for what happened, she was nice and respectful and she took care of us. But the experience that I had on this highly recommend hotel wasn t worth what I pay for my stay. I would think it twice before booking another night at this hotel if you re planing on having a relax, peaceful vacation. I had never experienced so many problems in such a little time in a hotel. I was definitely speechless !!!!

In a nutshell:

In a nutshell:
-Had a fishing charter scheduled at 8am and captain Nick called me at 8:15 to tell me he forgot to call me the night before to cancel
-despite several calls the Tennis pro never called me back to schedule a lesson
-the golf pro would not let us play because we weren t dressed appropriately
-had to pull teeth to get the concierge to call back
It seems this resort has a major identity crisis-it charges Ritz Carlton rates and gives Motel 6 service
I wouldn t go again

South Seas Island Resort is great. You have access to the beach (with chairs and umbrellas set up for you), multiple pools (one even has water slides), several restaraunts and eateries, and there is a post office, Starbucks, grocery store, and multiple little stores. And there's two trolleys that run back and forth that you can hop on to get somewhere faster.

Great resort! Huge property and good for families, adults and business gatherings.

There are several pools, restaurants and activities for all ages. The trolley is great and is like a amusement ride for the kids. Workout room is nice!

The rooms we stayed in were nice, not totally updated but not beat up. One unit we stayed in the AC broke down, they fixed it quickly but it broke again and ita hot in Florida in June! They could fix it so they made us move to a different unit. That was not fun and was a huge fiasco for me and my family.

Stay someplace else...room was well worn...bed was very soft and sheets were hard. Loose mismatched toilet seat. Definitely not worth the cost!
The one plus was a beautiful sunrise, they couldn't screw that up.
