Price to dispose of something isn't bad but don't go here without a tarp covering your load, even if it is a single couch. If you do they will charge you an extra $20. Or they will tell you to leave and go cover your load. Crazy no common sense used by employees to judge if covering actual does anything.
Extremely long wait, poor customer service, expensive. Would not recommend.
The worst customer service I have experienced with any company! I cancelled my service over four months ago, and I let them know over 30 days in advance that I would be moving, yet they insist that I never called them, gave my new address, or asked to stop service! I am also sure that I canceled since I can no longer log into their online payment system. Either way I'm not calling to argue about when I called, I don't need to be subjected to your belittlement, if you don't want to own up to it just fix the billing error and stop the "service" I am not receiving. I am 100% certain you are billing the new tenant, does it make sense to bill for the same address multiple times? I think anyone can attest that better safeguards should be in place so other account holders are not unfairly billed.
I'd give no stars if I could. Over the past 6 months they have neglected to pick up our garbage 6+ times. It got so bad they comped us a month free. But that doesn't solve the problem of extra garbage building up for two weeks at a time. It's always a hassle to talk to them on the phone and somehow, even after talking to JoAnne multiple times to resolve the issue, nothing gets fixed. It's a lack of communication umong office employees and the truck drivers themselves. They say that it's because they get the neighbors garbage mixed up with ours (the neighbors don't always pay their bill so they don't get their garbage picked up). But our garage cans are CLEARLY marked with our address. I would love to use a different garbage company but it seems Scavengers is a monopoly in the area. This is the worst service I've ever received from ANY type of business.
I dont understand the hate, I find the office staff extremely helpful and courteous. The few times I had weird trash or super heavy bags I wake up in time to meet the staff and help out. The field workers are hardworking and 1000% friendlier than I'd be working at 5am.
I'm from NYC where trash is a 'free' gov service, so I found the idea of paid waste management odd. That said these folks work hard for the $, 5 star company case closed.

the worst. first experience, they refused to take trash because something was in the wrong container. FIRST time? And it was a small infraction. One week without pick up. The next week the same thing happened only this time I knew everything was in the right containers. The next week it happened again. This week they did not collect any paper or containers for some reason but finally took my garbage. First bill said charges were 69.52 but then the total at the bottom says $98.01. What? They are a scam and a joke and I'm absolutely shocked they work for the city.
Disgusting.
Tried to charge me extra to throw away a bean bag chair that would fit in the bin, basically a big bag of styrofoam that they saw another way to milk their customers. They also charge higher rates for what they call E-waste (which in reality it's just modern garbage)
They do a good job of picking up the trash, but they need a better way to pay bills on-line, and not just a commitment to allow them to take money out of the bank account each time/month. Allowing a one time payment on-line would be best!
