One of the best places to eat in Buffalo New York the hospitality was great the food was delicious and best of all we actually got to meet Sophia so if you re in town stop by and have yourself a excellent home cooked meal you ve got to try this place I give it five stars

I'm so upset we just found this place a year ago, seriously the best food and service! Greek omelette is amazing and every chef special is unbelievable. They have been doing great with restrictions of Covid, safe and clean.
Sophia's is one of my favorite places to come for breakfast/brunch and it appears that there are others in Buffalo that agree with me. A group of us came here Friday morning to grab breakfast after work. Unfortunately for us it was also Veteran's day so the place was more packed than your usual Friday. After waiting, we were seated inside and were able to place our orders.
They have a wide variety of morning dishes. My typical is the small plate #2 ( meat, 2 eggs, and home-fries) or the big breakfast with kielbasa or corned beef hash. Regardless of what you order, all of their food is delicious. If your order has a side of bread, besure to get their fresh daily home made bread.
If you're in the mood for AM libations, they typically don't open the bar until after 10 am. It is after noon on Sundays (don't quote me but that's what it used to be).
Also, this place was one of the many in Buffalo that have been featured on Food Network's DDD (Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives). So if you're an avid fan of DDD, definitely a place you have to try.
Big portion breakfast, friendly & efficient service
In short: solid staff, great menu, quick service, community atmosphere. I reserve 5 star ratings for my personal "ultimate experience." Staff was quick to greet us. They were so friendly that three separate wait staff asked if we were alright before our original sever could bring us our cider. It certainly has a homey vibe. So homey that we ordered more than we should have big portions at fair prices and such great service? I don't regret it. I do not regret it. Go here. You may have a 15-20 mins wait but, it's worthwhile. I would suggest arriving around 8AM and come hungry. Would have posted a pic of meal but, it was half gone before I realized. The home fries were not cut finely enough so it felt like eating a potato but, a really good breakfast potato.
Absolutely the best!!! Their breakfast and bloody Mary's are unmatched. Anytime we visit from NC this place is always on our list of must do. Service is also wonderful!
Very intimate but also not the kind of place you want to go if you want to have a quite breakfast. Full bar was exceptional so was the service and the food.
Always excellent service, the staff is very friendly and food is out quick. Never had a bad meal at Sophias. Family like atmosphere. We are regulars and it is always a pleasure starting our day off here.

I had the open face steak sandwhich and it was amazing. The steak melted in my mouth and they had 3 options. The staff was amazing ans you could tell the owner really cares about his product.Definitly going back asap
Waiting for my car and decided (out of the blue) to have breakfast here. Though it was a while ago, it was great and I would recommend this great family restaurant.

Nice little place to have breakfast! We ordered eggs, toast, sausage, bacon, pancakes and were beyond full. The toast wasn't with bread you would buy in a store. You can tell it was homemade! My husband and I were very satisfied! We will definitely visit again when we come back to Buffalo!

One of the best breakfast places in Buffalo. All of my friends and family recommend this place and it's for a great reason. The menu is really cheap and great prices for the amazing food you get. The staff is always super nice and love helping out however they can. The facilities has always been clean and inviting to any newcomers. The place does get busy on weekends so prepare for a little but of a wait.
We go here at least once a week when we are in town, mostly during winter.

Sophia s is my very favorite breakfast place in Buffalo, however their lunch items are also amazing. I love their white Reuben....REAL turkey, on HOMEMADE bread. They also have a wonderful souvlaki. My husband is addicted to their bloody Mary s. We desperately miss going there as a family. We ve been dining there since my son was a newborn and the staff all watched him become a toddler. They ve made us feel like family each time we come in. I wish them the best during this hard time, as they decided to close for two weeks. When this is all over my family cannot wait to go back!

I came here with my daughter and her Father...before his hand could touch the door a girl opened it and said they were closed despite their hours of operation. As I passed 3 caucasian women heading in I told them they were closed and they too were confused. They walked right in the door. I even waited to see if they would be turned away as well but they were seated instead. Definitely won't be going back.

We waited about 30 min on an enclosed porch near a smoker that had mold growing in it. Nearby was a coffee station for people waiting. The coffee was gone. Once inside, the wait staff was great, the food was hot, good, and didn't take long. The price was reasonable. If you're looking for fancy, this ain't it, but I'll be back. After arriving twice to this place on the days they just so happen to be closed, I was pleased to have a fantastic experience on both of my recent visits. I'd heard that the food is wonderful, but the serviced is rushed. It's not the largest place, so I was told on several occasions by others that after you're done they rush you out the door to free up a table. Well, I didn't have that experience. There was a wait each time I went, but it wasn't too bad and after 10-15 minutes were seated. Each of our servers were pleasant and attentive. I went with a friend on each visit. First, sitting in the main dining area, and second time at the bar area. The food is on point! Pancakes large and tasty, not large and floury...if you know what I mean. The eggs and sausage were also very good. And the prices!!! Thank you Jesus for a breakfast spot that is has great food, great service, and doesn't break the bank. Will definitely be back!

Closest thing to one of those ridiculously stacked bloody maries they do in Wisconsin that you'll find in Buffalo. Great food, not a terrible wait on a weekday. Good luck on weekends.
I have been going to Sophia's for over 22 years now. The staff is very friendly and nice; the atmosphere is family comy and the food is top notch. Make sure to order their homemade bread/toast!

I was standing outside for an hour and a half on a cold porch. Like why don t you build a extension instead a cold porch, that has metal chairs that are cold even if you sit in them for 40 years. Why would I even come to a place that let people freeze for an okay meal.
