Soowoo Japanese Steakhouse Review

Came here for my birthday extravaganza and it was honestly the best experience I have ever had in sumari! It felt like the first time I came to Sumari haha! I came with a large number of my family and friends, we all came during the week and everyday in sumari is busy no matter what. There are no reservations allowed, but that didn't stop the manager himself to help us pull all the strings necessary for our family and friends to be enjoy ourselves and have fun. No complaints about the food nor excellent customer service. My only concern is the bathroom area, there seems to be a little construction going on here and on the exterior of the restaurant. Overall my experience here was simply amazing !

Always great to go with the family and have lunch or dinner. We love their delicious food and Hibachi. The chefs are always very friendly and accommodating with our sons allergies. I definitely recommend this place to anyone.

Delicious! We came for a birthday dinner and were seated timely and enjoyed our meal. We will definitely be back the next time we're visiting the area. The only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is because of the valet. We handed the valet our ticket and we waited. After a few minutes they asked us if we were waiting on anything and they forgot that we gave them our ticket. Other than that everything was great!

We really enjoyed dinner. Sergio our chef was good and food was great too. First time I see a Minnie made.

Me and my boyfriend come here all the time i love the food and the employees I always go with Sergio the chef he is the best very funny very sweet and kind and social, Like hes at the table entertaining you not just trying to cook and get it over with. I took my family here and now they're hooked.

First long waiting time for a table, after we where seated took a while for the chef to arrive I told about shellfish allergy. The chef start cooking and never thought will be so boring not a single show like I expected being my first time there. He start with onions zucchini and mushrooms and right after star cooking the shrimps and serve me some shrimps on my dish, after cleans the cooking site start doing the fried rice previous touch by the steam of the shrimps and some of the sprinkled from the shrimps while he cooked them. I ended up having an awful birthday dinner and also my wife concern about me.
At the end they never ask what flavor for the icecream and brought only one we had to ask for the second and specify we want chocolate after the one they brought was vanilla.
The only i like was one of the managers saying arigato(thanks) once we were leaving

Food is great but always end up waiting over 1 hour last visit 3hours later we were being seated

I got take out last night and noticed the prices have went up and the portions were smaller. My shrimp still had the tails on them, my rice had no egg, and none of the food had any seasoning; you can also tell they didnt use the garlic butter or much sauce on the rice. I have ordered take out three times since COVID and I will never order take out again.

Bad experience, got table in 5 minutes service was slow received in 40 minutes than was told the cooking table wasn't working after an hour later move to new table, it took over 3 hours to dine there that does not include 5 minute wait to get table.

I know how rich but you leave smelling like food is incredible

horrible customer service - they give half order - the manager is terrible and does not have time to speak with customers i have currently been waiting for 35 mins to get someone on the phone to rectify my situation and they cant even do that.

Excellent Service, the cook was entertaining and food delicious. The same exact set up as Benihana

This place is fantastic. From the food performance, to the atmosphere, and everything about this place, I'd recommend it to anyone.

I went in for lunch and got the combo my server was very in tune with us and the cook at our table was really friendly. I enjoyed his cooking show and his personality a lot. I feel like an idiot because I Should've asked for both of their names.

We ve visited Samurai several times throughout the years, and sometimes it s been good...and then there were times they were not.

I ve gone on dates with the hubby, or to celebrate a birthday with friends, and even the kiddies have enjoyed coming here.

The bar is always a nice place to get a cocktail, or you can enjoy fresh sushi at the Lounge. But, our favorite part is the teppanyaki style cooking!

Not all chefs are created equal...and thru the years we been entertained and we ve been disappointed. But this past visit, we had the pleasure of being served by Jayme the chef and his attitude and style of cooking made the experience a whole lot of fun.

Our waitress was pleasant, attentive, and prompt. I wish I remembered her name because she was a real delight.

As for the food ... that also has had its ups and down thru the years, but after our last visit this week, we were pleasantly impressed by the quality and taste of all the dishes served.

We ordered for us and the kids chicken and steak (filet mignon), with shrimp appetizer. That was accompanied by the famous onion soup and their delicious ginger salad.

I wish I took photos of our plates prepared , but as our chef was cooking and serving our plates , we had a hard time putting the forks down.

Expensive and food wasn't as awesome as I expected for the price. I guess we mostly paid for the show. Of course do not let this review discourage you from visiting. It really just depends on the person cooking. And unfortunately the person cooking did not meet my expectations as a high paying customer. They seemed pretty new anyways. Generally however, this is an amazing restaurant. Been here a few times before for special occasions. By the way, they have amazing tasting sushi and exceptionally fresh sashimi.

Hibachi! This place is always packed for dinner, expect to wait. Pretty good though, I have never been disappointed. Would say it's above average to others but nothing fancy.

The grill was too hot causing smoke to fill the area. It was so awful that my four year old son complained. Not to mention the food was not seasoned and overly cooked especially the rice. Upon requesting a manager from several workers a female manager attempted to approach the table but turned around due to smoke inhalation (literally).

Food was great Annie & Ceasar was AWESOME ...Bathroom was VERY NASTY looks like it hadn't been clean ALL DAY glad I saw it after we ate or I would've left.

Though the volume of my reviews seem to indicate otherwise, I actually love (Americanized) Asian cuisine. However, with my seafood allergies I have to be cautious and minimize exposure. So when my friend picked out Samurai to catch up for dinner, one of the first things this was one of the first things I pointed out to anyone involved in food prep.

Though we were originally told we had to wait about a half hour, we were actually seated much quicker. Our orders were taken, and we had a little bit of wait before our superstar chef came to our table of 6 for true dinner theater. We first got our soups and salads; mine was a nicely warm onion broth and I loved the mixed greens salads with a spicy ginger dressing.

Our culinary show began with the chef preparing the vegetable appetizers - zucchini, onions and mushrooms - complete with a fire show on the tabletop grill. The veggies seemed a little overdone but no major complaints. Next came the white rice, eggs and chicken to make their delicious chicken fried rice. Add a little soy sauce and garlic butter and oh man..Hij ni oish (very delicious!) My teriyaki chicken also had a deliciously sweet sauce.

My friend and I shared their banana tempura dessert with vanilla ice cream, whipped cream and slightly sweet breading. The fifth star roundup comes from both their attention to detail with my allergies and from their valet attendant not changing the radio station in my car.

Got food poisoning from here. The chef stacked the sauce containers without checking if the bottoms were cleaned or not.

Food is fresh and delicious and the place never disappoints. And their sushi rolls are exceptional.

I stopped in tonight for the 1st time to take my bestie out to eat. Was told the wait would be 30 to 45 minute wait, was sitted within 10 minutes. That's not even my complaint. I received my bill with 1 price and then got home and checked my card like I ALWAYS do and realized that there was an extra charge of $16.00 on my card. Gave the waiter a $15.00 tip because the service was great and $5.00 cash for St. Jude. Now I'm pissed and dumbfounded to why there was a extra charge of $16.00 added on to my bill. I'm am totally upset . Can't wait till they open in the morning to get some answers.

This was my first time at Samurai and I really enjoyed myself. The atmosphere was awesome. Reunited with high school friend by coincidence and enjoyed the company of strangers that sat with us. The cook was friendly, professional, and knowledgeable. The poor waitress seemed to be struggling but she was in great spirits.

Have gone now a couple of times and is always great service and food. It's a great atmosphere and great to go with a group to have fun and enjoy yourselves or just go with that special person and make a great moment as you watch your good food cooked in front of you..

My baby wanted to go for her bday. I told her no bc those taxes dropped and it would be crowded but we went anyway. Long wait but she was happy.

This is my go to place for a nice dinner with visit friends and family.

I love going to Samurai but unfortunately tonight I was not very happy being there. They have these self seating tables that I normally sit at if I don't want to be waiting too long. Tonight was just a mess. I sat at the self seating table with my boyfriend while waiting for someone to take our order. We waited 10 minutes and then we told a waitress that passed us a few times if someone could please take our order and she responded I'll see what I can do. Then we waited another 10 minutes and still no one has taken at least a drink order even though we had kindly asked the waitress if there was someone that would be able to take our order. Once again we asked the waitress if someone can please take our order since we've been waiting for some time. Also, the waitress in the area was taking care of 3 different groups of people except us. Since nobody took care of us we decided to go somewhere else since we were of no importance to the waitress that was taking care of everyone else but us. I most likely will not be coming back here very soon but when I do I sincerely hope that they give better service to their customers. I don't like leaving bad reviews but this is one place that I enjoy going to because the food is great and I enjoy it, especially the shrimp sauce but the service is not that great.

The food was good but the chef's personality was better. It was ok but we've had better.

This place is always crowded, sometimes you sit quite awhile for the chef to show up at your table but once they do, the experience is entertaining and the food is delicious! Expect to wait for a table at this restaurant but it is worth it because the food is good, they give large portions and for lunch it is actually a pretty decent value. We had our daughter's 11th birthday party here and we had a great time! Yes, the service was slow and it was like a total of almost 3 hours from when we arrived to when we finally left but it was still worth it. We only go to this restaurant on special occasions but it is always a good experience and one we will definitely return to.

It is better if you tell the chef to not put a lot of salt/soy sauce first hand...

On Saturday night we went to Samurai for our anniversary and we seat at the lounge because was to busy but we have a very bad experience. first the guy took the wrong bottle to the table and when he came with the right bottle he left the bottle on the table and never opened, I had to call the bartender to open the bottle for me, second I order the food without mushrooms because my wife is allergic to it and when the food arrived it was full of mushrooms, and food was cold, please if u go the that place never seat at the lounge the waitress there don t care about customer service.

Great food, Sunday night is the best time to go, we didn t had to wait. Highly recommend

The food was overcooked, the hostess was mean, the chef didn't know what to do. Not so good anymore.

Expected something a bit more traditional, and I was not expecting to be seated with strangers. Maybe educating customers on available seating arrangements would be good.

I've been coming to Samurai for years. This was one of the best experiences I've had here. The Chef Lu was awesome. Food was great.

We went with some friends today, and I definitely have to say that it was the best! The preparation of the food was vastly entertaining, and the chef was so amiable and full of energy!

When the food was served, it was delicious! They have the best fried rice, and the vegetables & meat were well-prepared and scrumptious!

This is something you absolutely shouldn't shy away from; it's worth everything, guaranteed. ;)
