Spectacular the visit and the gift bottle of Tondonia reserve wine. Congratulations for maintaining the art of wine as in the old days and following the traditional process, which will maintain a great differential with the rest of the wines!

We made the visit to the winery and tasting of three wines in a small group of 9 people. The facilities are spectacular because of the tradition they ooze. They carry out the same production process as over 100 years ago. They try that the wooden barrels and vats do not add much to the wine, and that the flavors and smells that you notice are those of the broth, not of the wood in which it is aged. To be more classic if possible, they make their own barrels, which is already done by a few wineries in La Rioja. The visit, the architecture and the SPECTACULAR spaces. He was a classic of quality.
Classic winery from La Rioja, located in the famous Haro winery neighborhood. Next to the train station because that way they better transported wine to France, you will be surprised by the concentration of wineries per square meter. You can taste some of their wines on the outdoor terrace and take the opportunity to buy some in the store.
Excellent winery, the visits are very sought after so better to book well in advance, but if you go to it you have open spaces that you can visit and ask for a glass of some of their wines they also serve you a dish to snack. The treatment with the unbeatable staff
I went with my husband and told the waitress that I would like to pay a visit but it was not available for that afternoon. He took great care of us and showed us some of the corners of the winery. Thank you very much Elena, a charming worker. We will definitely be back.
A wine that you expect from Rioja: woody taste. It has little to no smell. Wine is at the price (start around 20euro). You can test by the glass and walk in easily. Not my recommendation if you are here anyway. A sufficient - good.
One of the most renowned wineries in Haro, recognized for its good wines. You can make visits to the winery, but if you want, a good one is to take a walk from the center of Haro, passing through many of the great Riojan wineries, and once arrived at Lopez de Heredia, taste their wines in the open wine cellar to the public that they have in the winery itself. Highly recommended.
Pleasant wine cellar, good explanations of the wines, tastings with affordable prices. Attentive staff with good wines. Among the wineries of the place, of the best.
Impressed by the interesting part of the visit, in which a historical tour is made from its foundation to the present day. They retain the traditional artisanal method in all phases of production, they even manufacture their own barrels by hand, which they then use to preserve the wine. The guided tour is very illustrative and the guide explains very well. At the end of the visit a tasting of the Tondonia reserve and the Gravonia.
Old meets new inside this more than 135-year-old Rioja winery, where charmingly antiquated 19th-century cellars abut a decanter-shaped tasting room from modern architect Zaha Hadid.
Excellent winery, one of the first to be implemented in La Rioja. It preserves the processes and family tradition in order to maintain the flavor and essence of its wines. Highly recommended guided tour of the winery
Centennial winery ... we could almost say that everything started here. La Rioja Alta is what it is for business families like this. Haro, Paris and London. The wines of this wonder are unique, different, peculiar, that mark you. Have you not visited it yet?
I put it 5 since I can not put more, one of the best visits I made, spectacular winery, for its tradition and for staff and its wines! Entrance is worth 35 euros but it is worth it, they give you 3 high quality wines to try and then they give you a bottle. 100% recommended to all wine lovers!
Tasted some of their wines at the wine bar - good wine, and interesting modern design of the wine bar, but very busy and not quite as relaxing as others in the area nearby.
Excellent classic cellar, known as one of the wine cathedrals. They continue to make wine traditionally in cybers and wooden barrels. The visit is worth it and make a tasting of its excellent wines. It has the classic atmosphere and is worth it. It is also very educational to visit and understand how wines are made.
Visit not cheap, in 2020 will be 40 euros, which includes a tasting of 3 wines with ham and a bottle to take away. Essential for wine lovers. Explanations and route through the different places where they continue to work the production of their wine.
It is a special winery, founded in 1877 and built under a mountain, with one of the longest drafts of all hand-chopped on the stone, a familiar and traditional winery, with a passion to maintain the whole process of making as 100 years ago , it is worth visiting as it is something unique to see
The best winery I've visited, for everything. 1-Classic, keep the traditional. The facilities, YOU MARK. 2-The guide (Lidia) unbeatable, knows what he talks, live, enjoy, shows his sense of enterprise .... 3-The tasting, the wines, spectacular To go through Haro and La Rioja without visiting it is to stay half.
Hi. The winery is spectacular and is an old winery and they explain it very well, it is very worth it, approaching you will not be disappointed. A couple from Valladolid. Thanks for your attention.
Very positive experience a classic keeps all the tradition of the Rioja of100 years ago, its reserves still have the same flavor and aroma as when it was supplied more than 50 years ago.
Without a doubt the best wine from the Rioja Alta and the best winery, it never disappoints, after having been a lot of times in the winery I am still delighted, a winery with a great history, not only in wine, many times I played in its old pediment.
We came here in a beautiful warm sunny day after tasting different wines from different bodegas in the area. The wine they gave has for the tasting were perfect and the guide answered all my question ( yeah, I am a wine enthousiast and a sommelier to be) and she was extremely knowledgeable. A beautiful experience.
OK folks, this is simply the best wine made in Haro. Why? They have been doing it longer than most, doing it as a family, doing it with much longer aging in the oak barrels than any other winery in Haro and it results in fabulous wines.
This family-owned winery makes highly individual wines in a style essentially unchanged since its inception in 1877. They grow all their grapes using organic methods, ferment using only natural yeasts and do not filter their wines. They employ four full-time coopers to make their barrels. Gravonia, Tondonia, Bosconia and Cubillo are all individual vineyards which have been in the family for generations. Patience is a family watchword, as this bodega thinks nothing of waiting twenty years before releasing a wine.
Their "Crianzas" are aged like others' "Reservas"; the "Reservas" as long as others' "Gran Reservas"...and the ultimate accolade of "Gran Reserva" is accorded to only the very greatest vintages. Rarely are there more than three of these in a decade
We did not tour here because we were blitzing through all the Haro wineries in one day. Take the tour because they have their own barrel-making operation. The only winery in La Rioja who does that.
We spent 3 weeks in La Rioja tasting at 30 wineries and this is either #2 or #3 out of all of them. The price point in country is higher than most and for a damn good reason. They make spectacular wine.
Do not waste your palate or your time/money with other wineries in Haro that cater to the blue-haired bus tour groups. This is wine heaven.
It can be found in the US at specialty shops at a price level above $40 for the Crianza and above $50 for the reservas.
Our tour guide, Lydia was a wealth of knowledge about the bodega, wine making and wine in general. The tour was almost 2 hours and very informative. At the wine tasting we tried 3 different types of wines. We ended the tour with a complimentary bottle. Really fascinating bodega as everything is traditional.
A beautiful tasting room and wines to match. These wines were delicious and reasonably priced! The staff were generous and were thoroughly welcoming. If you're in the vicinity this is a must visit!
Great family winery. It is worth the visit. We have enjoyed some authentic wineries. Congratulations to the family for maintaining its origins. Thanks to Elena for her kindness and patience in the visit. It is worth the visit. Spectacular.
The most beautiful winery I have visited, is beautiful to visit with its caves, barrel rooms ... but maintaining the family spirit. Before you could visit for free, and you just left the money at the store buying some Tondonian vineyards. I always went to see a visit from outside ... now it has put a very high price and although they "give you" a bottle, maybe not all visitors see it well.
You can't miss it, a different way of understanding Rioja wine. They treat the wine in a classic way, the visit is a must has nothing to do with the current wineries.
Spectacular winery. Of the many that I have visited in La Rioja it has been the best without a doubt. They continue to maintain the traditional way of making wine. In addition the price of the entrance, (30 euros) includes a bottle of reserve tondonia. The guide, Joshua, a very kind and close person who has made the visit is endearing. Continue like this
Spectacular visit Very well explained. The super motivated guide. Perhaps the visit worth about 30 euros can stop anyone, but you can think they are super-profited. I recommend it with a 10.
Awful. Rude and arrogant staff and wines were not to my liking. I asked for a small taste to see if I wanted a bottle of the Tondonia. She started pouring a glass - I told her again just a taste while she poured (we were driving that day) and she said don't worry. My friend and I both found the wine unpleasantly acidic - almost vinegary. She said 'are you buying it?'. I said no and she said 'fine then 2.10 for the glass'. We paid and walked out and went to CVNE and spent 100 on fantastic wines.
Impressive winery that you can not lose anyone who likes wine. Of course, you have to reserve with time. In the visit they give to taste 3 wines. I got three reds ... And at the end of the visit they give away a bottle of the Tondonia Reserva.
