First of all, I don't like leaving negative reviews... I am a small business owner myself and know how damaging negative reviews can be, but I had to make an exception.
We had a group of 5 turn up around 8pm on a Saturday evening without a reservation, so were expecting a bit of a wait but to our surprise, we could be seated immediately, in an area which was wide open. It was the area stuck away in the back, away from the view, and although there seemed to be 1-2 tables on the higher terrace with the view, and we would have been happy to wait for a bit, I didn't want to push the issue and was just glad to get something :)
Atmosphere - The vibe seemed to be good, bar was pretty lively, and I'm sure the view of the sunset was great.
Staff - Unlike many other bad reviews, we found the staff to be friendly and accommodating.
Menu - not only did I think it was very limited, but it was ridiculously over-priced. When you have to search through the menu for something that sounds good and is reasonably priced, that is a very bad sign. 2 of the group just ended up sharing a couple of starters, one had the pan roasted chicken, one the Italian sausage pizza, and after much deliberation I opted for the burger. The pizza selection looked like it had some potential, with truffle mushrooms and some other cool ingredients, but I like a little bit of meat / protein on my pizza (proscuitto & arugula is probably my go-to) so to have the only 'meat' option be italian / pork sausage with little else, was a little disappointing.
Food - Bland and over-priced. The pizza and chicken were just ok, and when I'm paying $18 for a damn burger, I expect it to be really good. It wasn't! I love sushi, will eat a good steak medium to medium rare, but when it comes to anything minced (burger, scallops) I will not eat those raw and they need to be at least medium to well. I think my kids could have cooked a better burger on the grill :) Well done is one thing, charcoal is another. It was absolutely shocking. Oh and that $18 was JUST for the burger, if I wanted fries, that would be an extra $3. $21 for a bad burger & fries!? GFOH! :)
The bill - We would just have put the whole thing down as a lesson learned, but then to add insult to injury, there was then a mandatory 20% tip added to the bill. I'm used to groups of 8+ (or very rarely 6+) having an 18% gratuity added, but 20% for a group of 5? Reading the other reviews about service (again ours was fine, otherwise I would give a 1*) and us experiencing terrible food, I'm wondering whether they don't just add the gratuity as standard to ensure that people are obliged to at least tip 'something'.
All-in-all, THE worst experience I've had at a decent / high-end restaurant in such a long time that I had to take some time to share my thoughts.
