It's a for court wine bar so that will give the overall vibe. Wine list is basic. Meatballs were tasty and they have good happy hour prices.

Loved it! Attended for an event and the bar was nice as well
Good Window-shopping type food
Tase good, but small portions & obviously $$$ type
Great food, good value happy hour bottle prices. Sarah had a great knowledge and spoke well on the wine list. Very much recommend as a place for small plates and a bottle for happy hour
Not "cheap" by all means... but great food, great service, and great location!
Love it!
Absolutely amazing in every way! Shawn was the best waiter I've ever had in LA, no exaggeration. Super friendly, super helpful, checked on us frequently, knew the menu, just awesome. The food was equally amazing. Tried the wings, the truffle fries, the mussels, and the steak salad and they were all AWESOME! My new favorite restaurant in LA. I will be back many times.
Nice sunday brunch. All you can drink Mimosas or Bloody Mary Bar available.
Need more bartenders when having events but I had a great time celebrating my bff birthday there. I'd give then another shot.
Bottomless mimosas for 2 hours 39 bucks. Good food. Cool scenery. Upstairs. Can see the ocean. Recommend the burger!!!!
Food and wine are decent. The Hosts however are rude and not particularly good at their jobs. Did not want to sit us as there were no tables. But there were an abundance.
The food was AH-MAZING!!! Where do I even start? We have been coming to Sonoma for a few year but let me tell you the new menu takes it to a whole another level. We had the duck pate (YUM!), the lamb merguez (OMG!!), the steak with Mushroom (still drooling from deliciousness) and The smoked pork chop (we had never tried anything like it). We were told that they have a new Chef! Well Kuddos Chef and we can t wait to come back!
Their food is cooked to perfection, Salmon is was exactly as i wanted it. very nice place to dine and enjoy good food
The presentation of the food is awesome and it taste delicious too. The price is very affordable.
I absolutely loved this neighborhood spot. Walking distance from the one and only Ample Hills. Every bite here was authentic, hot, and delicious. Favorites were mushroom lasagna and seafood linguine.
Great ambience, authentic Italian, and great service. We ordered the burrata with truffles and bolognes. Felt the burrata was the highlight. Noodles were delicious. My only complaint was I felt the bolognes ones was a little salty. Would return for a cute date spot.
This has become a favorite happy hour hangout for my BFF and me. Love the huge red wine glasses with a generous serving of wine and the appetizers are yumilicious. Love the bartender and waiters. So cheery every single time!
No host to be found. After 5 minutes of waiting, bartender inquired about our status and sat us at a good seat outside. Our waitress was stuck up to say the least. She even rudely told us that they were no longer serving food after handing us the menu and asking if we were good to order. We watched a waiter clumsily run into a woman seated on what appeared to be a business dinner without apologizing. We were very polite and are generally happy folk visiting from Boston, yet our waitress did not smile at us once and didn t bother saying bye or thank you after we left ( we made eye contact upon exit ). Prices were a bit ridiculous as well ( $7 for Bottle of Coors light?? ). We can t speak to the food quality or service during the other cycles of employees, but we were generally very unpleased with the service quality. The only positive was the atmosphere. Loved the outdoor patio and it s design.
Magnificent ocean view, great ambience, good food and good service at reasonable prices for real people! Trademark Santa Monica!
Service was terrible.
They took forever to serve us during happy hour when there was hardly anyone in the restaurant. When we finally got our drinks and food. They never followed up on how we were doing and if we wanted another drink. They need to re-vamp the menu it was nothing edible.
Not recommended.
I have been looking forward to this place for over a month after reading about it and it did not disappoint.
Had a great time. The food was good. The vibe was chill. My date made the night. I would never go back to a "mall" restaurant but if I had friends from out of town that needed a social distance atmosphere I would definitely recommend it. Ask me more.
They didn't understand my allergy problems and after 30 minutes I was dying in Santa Monica, thanks God I always have with me the injection ... I explained my allergy problems very well and they told me that I could eat inside the restaurant without problems. My food was totally contaminated with dairy products. Horrible experience
The view is nice but the food and service is crazy over priced. I ended up paying 100$ for what should have been a 50$ at the most(they didn't even take the bayleaf out). Service was okay but as someone who is on a budget getting that check did not sit well with me. Save your money and find another place.
This place is super popular for brunch. Expect a long wait, even with reservations. That said it has bottomless mimosas and some great brunch food. It's one of my go to places despite the wait. Nothing is spectacular, but it's consistent and good. Expect prices on the higher end.
We had a great time hanging out here during lunch. Food was great and the wine selection was amazing m. View was awesome and the server was super nice. Would recommend coming here for sure
Everything was very good! The atmosphere was nice though I wished we could have sat outside. The food was all really tasty and cooked well. A little pricy since nothing was absolutely spectacular or fancy, but it was definitely all enjoyable.
Park in the parking structure located right underneath Sonoma Wine Garden, its free for the first 90 minutes and than $1.00 -1.50 after for half hr.
You walk upstairs and there you will find the food court and tuck right in the corner facing the ocean...or lack there of (more condos) you will fine Sonoma Wine Garden. I gotta be honest if you are paying for the view, you seriously might as well get something at the food court and dine at the beautiful bright lit tables.
The decor was Wined out, as it should be being that it was meant to be a "garden of wine", its actually quite beautiful later in the evening as they light up all the candles behind me (view photo)
Anywhoot, because I got the deal from Livingsocial - i spent $75 for 4 course meal plus wine pairings for 2! Sounded like a perfect deal, but it was just sub par in my books, Livingsocial deal had its own paper menu.
First course, Tomato soup and beet balls with ricotta cheese - these were actually paired off with the perfect wine, it really heightened the soup and brought out the sweetness in the beet balls!
Second course, the salami pizza with beer as the pairing and to me this was the least of my liking. Bitter and plain but my guy liked it enough to eat 2 slices.
Third course was our entrees, he had the salmon and though the wine pairing for that was not as spectacular as our first course but it was still good. My Vegetarian Lasagna was tasty but drenched with spiniach and oil!
So all in all the food was good but just slightly pricer for the location i guess, being that it was next to food court and the promised of a view made me lower the star by one!
(food pictures were deleted from my phone by accident bummed about that!)
Every time I go to the Promenade, I have to stop here. Excellent food and drinks and I love the roof top atmosphere. A must try
Have the best wine here and I love this stuff everyone is a so friendly always be coming back here
I am always surprised seafood isn't better in LA?!!
Sonoma Wine Garden used to be my favorite restaurant because it was so unique in the food selections and preparation.
My first time there and the wine & service were both quite nice. I didn't order food, but saw dishes brought to others which looked good. Staff was friendly and attentive, even though we sat outside. I look forward to coming back and getting good food as well as great wine.
the goat and fig tostada, the mac and cheese, and the brisket. OUT OF THIS WORLD. I dream about this place. It's so cute and has consistently DELICIOUS food. Make a reservation in advance because it can get super busy but this place is 100% worth it.
Amazing Happy Hour. $1 oysters. CARRIE our server was incredible
Cute place with decent food and good drinks. I say "decent" because while the food is okay, there's nothing that really stands out. My friend has sent a few things back because she ended up not liking it or the food was overcooked, but nothing bad. I think the drinks are what this place does well. Their cocktails are interesting and tasty, they aren't stingy with their bottomless mimosas, and their selection of wines is nice. The atmosphere is comfortable and the staff is friendly, patient, and attentive. I've gone a couple of times and I'll probably go again.
In a nice relaxed atmosphere, you can end the evening particularly well at dusk and in the evening with a delicious glass of wine. But even during the day it is always a point of contact for a cool drink and a snack or two. Price adjusted to the upscale atmosphere.
The wings here are always pretty big and the meat is very moist. They don't skimp on the sauce and give an extra tub of pickled radish for free if you ask. I recommend calling ahead to order because it can take 20-30 minutes.
The place is beautiful and the cocktails are good. I just didn't like Garson who, after asking about a dish that was in the photos, was not available this day, so I asked him to bring me something similar and he brought me a sandwich that had nothing to do with what I wanted to eat. In the end I only ate the fries that were extremely delicious!
Great day time ambiance to chill grab a few drinks and have some light food. Perfect Sunday Fun Day date spot.
Food is great, and bottomless brunch is a favorite among my friends. I love the Baked Egg (it's basically Shakshuka if you've ever had that).
I thoroughly enjoyed this place, the bottomless mimosas made my day! This is an upbeat spot in Santa Monica by the music they play (hip hop/r&b/pop/latin mixture); I know they get crowded! It has an upscale vibe but still comfy/chill at the same time BUT in an instant it could become a party! Will be returning.
Best Food, delicious Deserts, and the SERVICE IS EXCELLENT...no joke, true story
Sonoma Wine Garden makes it very evident that if you are a person of color ( my group was a mix of African American, Hispanic, and Asian women) that you are not welcomed in their establishment. The rude attitude and verbal abuse that my friends and I received from management clearly demonstrated their RACIST corporate culture. After placing our food orders, we were forced to move to the back of the restaurant as a manger proceeded to grab our belongings from the table. We had already been seated for over 30 minutes and had not even received the beverages that we had ordered. The table that they moved our group of 6 to was extremely small (probably meant for 3 people) and in a walkway. The manager complained that "people" always wanted free stuff and that we can leave their establishment if we didn't like the treatment. Through our interactions with multiple members of management we quickly understood that it was not just one RACIST employee, but that the company had a corporate culture of RACISM and BIGOTRY fueled by intolerance of people who looked differently than their average blue eyed blond haired customers. It had been a few years since I had encountered racism in a business setting. I write this review not to hurt the business at Sonoma Wine Garden, but to prevent other people from feeling the shame and pain that each RACIST encounter leaves on your life.
Two thumbs up! The food was superb and the ambience was great.
I usually don't like to go to downtown due to traffic but I will definitely go back to this restaurant.
Try the ink pasta!
I absolutely love this classy establishment. I've come here for everything from girl's nights out, dates to networking events. The vibe is urban and "hip" without being pretentious.
Rooftop brunch with bottomless mimosas, great service and beautiful atmosphere. This place is A MUST SEE for brunch.
Great Happy Hour menu. Excellent service. Highly recommend!
Moving back to California has made me more of a selective wine drinker. I usually enjoy tasting rooms, vineyards, and just wine places around Redwood City but I must say that coming to Press Club yesterday was a welcome "escape" from suburbia. My date recommended this place and upon entering, I really felt like I was in another world...
I Had A Hellava Private Event Here two weeks ago and I Was very pleased with my Host and Staff. #Privatevent#MoneyMoves
Food and service are amazing despite the steak being cold.
This place is nice, very modern and upscale looking. However, all the hosts are stuck up and very rude to others, at least those that look like they don t carry much in their pockets or are not the same color as they are. I didn t appreciate that they sat us at a table where the sun was hitting very strongly and we were literally sweating. They would cut us off when we d try to ask for something and they very stand offish. I was very unhappy with the way we were treated, as it was for my sisters 25th birthday. I don t think I ll be visiting again unless I have to. The only plus was that the waiters were very kind and very attentive.
Excellent mimosas, awesome server. Great atmosphere. Wish we weren't so full coming there, we would've eaten so much more. Will definitely be back.
disaster! Shortened a bit too much. Service a bit slower than last few visits.
A cozy place even with a slightly limited menu, however a good place to go with friends, good service and very friendly.
Cheese pizza is one of the worst pizza I ever ate...no taste...no spices...I can make a way better pizza making it at home
Their service is fantastic. So accommodating and the food is delicious. Exceeded all my expectations.
Filet mignon is tasty and the outdoor ambience is nice! Happy hour specials are ok.
Ambience 5/5, menu 4/5. Great to be on a rooftop, and the food and service was pretty good
Great view, decent food. Come here more for drinks and hanging out after work.
Best home made cocktails. Very good pizza. Attentive friendly service. Andrea on the bar is a pro.
The food, Santa Monica breeze, the cocktails, and the service is all fantastic! Chicken sandwich will put you to sleep! Food coma.
Empty tables. Can't get a seat. Avoid this bougie place with arrogant and dishonest management, although the bartenders are nice.
I had a great time hanging out here having my lunch. Food was great and the whole selection was amazing. View and location were awesome and the rooms are modern. Would recommend to everyone.
All their food was delicious! I would definitely return!
Friendly staff, good food, bottomless mimosas at brunch and great rooftop views. Shame they're going out of business
There were multiple hiccups initially: no concern for our special occasion seating request, glacial reception, and dinner order completely forgotten. However, it was finally served after a 1.5 hour wait and it was complimentary to make amends. It was the right response.
Amazing fresh food, the oysters were amazing and nicely crafted cocktails. The ocean top or garden area are amazing to enjoy your food.
Excelente serves... If you want an expert for wine ask for Kayla Pope
Went in wanted to have some wine and chill, as this is a wine garden. Almost nobody in the restaurant, yet they refused to give us a table because we weren t planning to eat and pointed us to the cramped bar.
It s a wine garden...
The food is regular and the atmosphere very youthful. The service is good but it is not for anybody the restaurant.
If you have time go check out this place ! Good food and patio where you can enjoy the fresh air and great meal.
Best restaurant & wine bar in Santa Monica with it's fantastic location on the dining deck of Santa Monica Place. The quality, price and choice on the menu will suit all tastes and the list of quality wines is staggering and yet the staff are extremely knowledgeable, friendly & helpful with pairing a wine that suits your choice on the menu. My favourite this year was their Californian Zinfandel which went really well with their linguine. Sonoma Wine Garden is so good I visited there on the Friday and Sunday evening a week or so back and thoroughly enjoyed the experience! Many thanks to my server Paris who was very professional, friendly and efficient and made me feel very welcome. Looking forward to returning next year.
This place is amazing. The bottomless memosas are just that... Bottomless. The food is good as well as the location... Make a reservation so you get a good seat. You can see the ocean from the top area.
Enjoyed it! I do think they need more food items for their Saturday brunch. Not a lot of choices. I would've liked to have tasted the items on their main menu.
Never disappoints! Had the brussel sprouts and truffle fries for appetizers, which was delicious. The squid ink pasta was amazing and lava cake was one of the best i ve had. The view is very nice too!
The food was mediocre and the service clueless. One would think that an artisanal bread plate with jam might include butter, but accepting that it did not, did I really need to have to go through three waiters to get some. This is one of those restaurants where it seems like the owners and managers had gone to some sort of design school but nave never actually been to a decent restaurant.
