Delicious and fresh. Got the chirashi lunch. So much food and much cheaper than most places.
Delicious and fresh. Got the chirashi lunch. So much food and much cheaper than most places.
Went for lunch buffet, each server was extremely helpful , food delicious, all despite arriving right before close.
Very nice sushi restaurant, well separated dining areas and Excellent service. The sushi was very good as well, and reasonably priced. The tempura ice cream, if you're into that sorta thing, was amazing! We will definitely be back again. If you enjoy sushi, and appreciate staff that is actually nice and courteous, I highly recommend stopping by. Thank you for a great dining experience.
I did not enjoy the sushi here. I was very disappointed!!!
I love the sushi without a doubt and my favorite beer Sapporo was served here and it was a pleasant place to dine
Absolutely flawless !!!
Your restaurant is amazing !!
It was delicious! The waitress was helpful and gracious. It was my first time here and I will be coming back.
Our favorite sushi restaurant, but they have much more.
Casual dining. Excellent service. "MOD" a waitress there is simply great! You'll love the food and service!
I have been going to Sonoda's Sushi for more than 20 yrs and I always have been greeted with SMILE from owner to the rest of the staff. Quality of the food and service is excellent. If you are looking for a friendly neighborhood sushi restaurant I highly recommend them to anyone. It has been a challenging for the many small businesses and I still ordered the some take outs and was happy to go back for the dine-in again.
Service was great but the food took forever and there was only 3 tables at the time.. food was mediocre
5 Stars! This is my favorite sushi spot, i ve been coming here for over 6 years now and I wouldn t put any other spot above it. They ve always treated me as if I was family and they make my favorite- Bobs Rolls even though it s not on their new menu. Lots of Love to Sonoda s and my two favorite sushi chefs.
Food was very good. They did a great job of social distancing and all the staff wearing a mask. They do a very busy take out business. Glad they are staying in business. So our food took longer than would be expected especially anything from the sushi chef's. I am guessing that now that they are having more public dining in, that they will make some changes so the service is quicker.
Fresh fish. Friendly staff. Clean and quiet. The chefs are more than happy to get creative to satisfy a hungry customer.
Outside appearance is not encouraging. Ignore that. Inside is some high value, high quality sushi.
Miso was outstanding. Rice was solid. Fish was fresh and high quality. We sat at the bar, and the chef station was clean, friendly, and efficient. Really impressed by the overall quality.
We will definitely visit again. Highly recommend for good, classic sushi.
Food, was very good even late in the evening just before closing.
Restroom was clean
Service was horrid. I waited for a long time just to be seen and my order was never taken. As the waitress walked by me multiple times.
Some of the best sushi in the area, though there aren't many good options around. We've been twice and both times were excellent. Reasonably priced for the area as well.
So disappointed in the food....I got the Sushi bar lunch.... For $14, it was just 7 rolls of rice with a piece of fish on top, no seaweed or avocado or cucumber...it was very bland...the stuff they sell at the commissary is way better and cheaper. The iceberg lettuce salad and soup that come with the meal are tiny, but they tasted good. The shrimp tempura was very bland and the dipping sauce just tasted like more oil. The noodles in the soup were thick, bland, slimy and felt like I was eating worms in beef ramen soup broth...My husband likes those 10 cent ramen noodle packages though, so he thought it was good...I see this place has a lot of positive reviews so maybe I ordered the wrong thing. The environment is nice and waitress was very friendly...just think the food was over priced.
I love this place so much! We have been coming here for a long time. Sushi is outstanding and everything on the menu. Definantly an amazing place to eat some great sushi.
I love the Ramen I cannot wait to go back I have heard many great things about other things on the menu. If the rest of the dishes are as good as the ramen it may be one of my favorite restaurants.
Absolutely the best sushi in the Denver metro area. This location is awesome and I've been going here for many years. Traditional sushi no kitchy names, great quality at a fair price. It's not in a trendy area but that's ok it keeps the crowds down. Although this place does get busy it's worth it to give it a try. You won't be sorry. Sonora in Aurora is absolutely the Best!
I accidentally passed by and had dinner.
I tasted the true Japanese food
The sushi was really soft and the noodles were so clean and the noodles were straight and the noodles weren't fresh
Great service; not very scenic location but it's in the suburbs, so parking is good; food was good but not the best sushi I've had.
Sonoda s is a hidden gem in Aurora! It s nestled in an unassuming strip mall off Parker Road. The sushi is so amazing and I highly recommend the Spicy Lava Roll - it is my absolute favorite!
Have been going here for 2 years now . And never have I gottten bad food . This place always has a Japanese sushi chef available which is rare in Colorado .The owner and his partner/head chef jimmy are both Japanese who take pride in their craft
Their karaage and takoyaki are my two favorite appetizers . The karage is only 4.99 and comes with Japanese mayo . I usually ask for tonkatsu sauce
Takoyaki comes with real octopus . I m amazed that they make takoyaki as you need a machine for that thing .
As for lunch . The best deal is their Chinashi . For under 20 dollars you get a bed of sashimi over rice . It comes with a lottttt of sashimi and the egg hits the Japanese cravings
Lobster roll - my absolute favorite roll here . This has a small lobster tail with salmon on top ! For 14 dollars only it s a steal in Denver .
Sake (salmon sashimi ) - haven t had a better one in Denver . I m not sure why but it s aleays fresher here .
Happy hour - no one knows but there s a happy hour here in Friday s . I believe it s at 10 PM .
See you soon Sonoda ! We love your place !
Nice Japanese restaurant with good sushi. Attractive setting, helpfully staff.
It was the freshest and the tastiest sushi I have ever had in my life. The quality of the fish was very high and the rice was cooked just perfectly. The list drinks in their menu is great. Service was exceptional. Jimmy, one of the sushi chefs, is friendly, knowledgeable and has amazing skills. Would highly recommend visiting!
I want to give this restaurant a higher rating, since the (now closed) Sonoda's on 6th and Broadway was one of my favorite sushi restaurants. Unfortunately, the food was just not that good. The sushi wasn't bad, it was just tasteless. One major plus is that the waitstaff are very nice and attentive.
Served me something rotten, I ve been throwing up all night.
The worst sushi experience i have ever had. I spit out the torro because the fish wasnt fresh. Tasted and smelled terrible but they still charged for it. Will never come back here.
Not the best sushi, that honor goes to sushi den. However so far as sushi restaurants go, they are consistently good.
Amazing everything. Sushi, staff, atmosphere everything is great here. Shootout to Ad and Makoto! Would recommend 100 times over
I'm a frequent customer and am always happy with the food and service. Rolls are large, rice and fish are tasty.
Really like it me and my husband go here for dinner all the time
Excellent service, great food.
Go to place for sushi!
I went here for my birthday dinner because I wanted sushi, but my boyfriend isn't the biggest fan of it. Some say I should get another boyfriend, however he's a keeper and I'm okay with compromise. We ordered the soft shell crab as an app, I ordered my sushi: Philly roll, California roll, the steak roll and some specialty roll. My boyfriend ordered the teriyaki chicken.
The chicken was 2 breasts that were over seasoned with pepper and little to no teriyaki flavoring. The sides were steamed vegetables that look like it came from a green giant steamer bag. The sushi was mediocre at best and I've definitely had a better soft shell crab at a different restaurant.
All together our bill was $78 (including tip). I have to say the best part of the meal was the glass of wine. I definitely will be looking for a new sushi restaurant.
This is our go to sushi restaurant for lunch, dinner, heck if they were open for breakfast we'd probably go there!
However, the food quality is hit or miss as we've had a couple of hideous lunches. Dinner seems to be more consistent.
Great selection, one of the best sushi restaurants in Colorado. The nigiri is fantastic
I was looking for good veggie sushi rolls. So, I ordered an avocado roll and an asparagus roll They were reasonably priced at $4 and they were ready quickly. This restaurant also had efficient online ordering. However, they were not fresh and seemed a day old. It was not a good experience on that end.
First off the service here is absolutely amazing, secondly the prices are very affordable for amazing sushi.
Fabulous ramen and spider rolls. The Sushi rolls are huge and tasty. The food and atmosphere is awesome.
Took a date here, service was good, food could be better
Me and my friends were promptly greeted were all satisified with our food everything was delicious rest was clean and inviting were very pleased with the level of svc trully a very good value for your money we will def see you soon our. Waitress was outstanding always with a smile kens rest sonodas are trully the finest sushi bars in town
Very good and we want to go back for sushi, rolls and steamed dumplings!
Very good food, very nice wait staff. Excellent!
Best sushi place for taste and price that I ve found since moving to CO !
I've been coming here for 25 years. Great staff and great food make this a special place.
We've been going here since we moved into the area 20 years ago and this is always our go to place in an area where there are quite a few cheap sushi places. With sushi, quality beats price, and while Sonoda's is a bit more expensive than many in the area, they are consistently good quality, have friendly, fast service and great selections.
Benn going there for about 20 years and I love them!!!! :-)
I am a regular customer of here. Everytime we get excellent food and great service.
Excellent! I ate at the sushi bar and the fish was exquisite!
I have been patronizing Sonoda's for many years. It is the best sushi in town and I have been to many other sushi places just to make sure! The portions are great, the prices are reasonable... You're not paying more for a swanky experience! It's consistently fresh, great service from people that have worked there for years, and the best kept secret in town. Don't know what I would do without them!!! Shhh... We don't want too many people lining up, I love getting a seat without a wait whenever I go there!!
This place used to be okay. I might have hit it on an off night tonight...but this was the worst sushi I have ever had. I ordered three rolls, spicy tuna, shrimp tempora, and a californa roll. Each roll was complete mush. It was literally disgusting. I threw over 1/2 away. This is the first sushi I have had since before 'rona. Very sad.
Dried out crappy tiny egg rolls, mushy rice, slimy fish, and rude staff make this a must miss.
Jimmy-san makes the meanest, most tightly wrapped soft-shell handroll in Colorado!
We have been coming here for years on a monthly basis. After trying countless sushi places in Denver nothing beats the freshness, and quality of sonadas. The have large peices. Which is hard to find. The prices are great. The service is quick and staff is very attentive. Their rolls are simple, filled with great fish. Must try!
This sushi restaurant is a gem in a small strip mall. The service was quick & professional and the price is competitive with good portion. I saw 4 well-maintained fish tanks teeming with life! Although I ordered out due to a work lunch, the place is clean and has a great dine-in atmosphere. I'll definitely come again with my colleagues. I ordered the unagi (bbq eel) and it was delicious. Ooo so good.
Very good sushi (or in my case, sashimi) at a very reasonable price accompanied by very good service. Our regular go-to place for sushi.
I have had better sushi before. I wasn't a fan of how it looked insdie either
Teriyaki chicken and vegetables were so good! Owner and staff are all so friendly.
Great atmosphere and terrific rolls. Their lava roll is so rich and tasty. All of their mochis are good, but the green tea stands out. Lots of table space and attentive servers. Really liked their hot house sake too.
Staff was friendly but I didn't feel that the sushi was worth the price. The Udon and Miso soup was very good. The sushi was definitely a letdown.
Fresh food, great service and reasonable prices. Try them I think you'll like it.
The staff is always friendly and the fish is always fresh.
