Sofitel Philippine Plaza Manila Review

ONCE AGAIN THANK YOU SOFITEL PHILIPPINE PLAZA MANILA FOR A WONDERFUL STAYED LAST MONTH ME & MY FAMILY. ALTHOUGH I HAD A BIT ISSUE CONCERNING ABOUT MY 2 NIECES WHEN WE ATE BREAKFAST AT SPIRAL COZ I WAS CHARGE ON MY BILL 5 ADULTS CONSIDERING MY NIECES ARE 9 & 10 YEARS OF AGES. WHEN I DISPUTE THE BILL AFTER I TOLD ONE OF THE EMPLOYEE SHE START ASKING ME OF MY NIECES BIRTH CERTIFICATE OR ANY PROOF THAT THEY WERE 9 & 10 YEARS OLD. I NEVER HEARD SUCH A THING LIKE IT THAT IF I WANTED MY NIECES OR NEPHEWS TO ACCOMPANY ME WHEN IM IN THE COUNTRY ESP WHEN IM STAYING AT SOFITEL THAT THEY HAVE TO CARRY AROUND THEIR BIRTH CERTIFICATE COMING FROM THE PROVINCE. RIDICULOUS !!! OH IT GETS WORST THIS EMPLOYEE WANTED TO INTERROGATE MY NIECES WHEN THEY WERE BORN NOT UNTIL I TOLD HER NO THATS IRRELEVANT. IM THEIR AUNT I DONT EVEN KNOW WHEN THEY WERE BORN I JUST ASK THEM HOW OLD THEY ARE. I JUST REMEMBER WHEN I MADE MY RESERVATION ABOUT SPIRAL RULES & IF IM CONCERN ABOUT PAYING MY BILLS 8 OF US ATE UPSTAIRS THE NIGHT BEFORE COZ SPIRAL ARENT OPEN YET FOR DINNER PAID P23,OOO 1 DAY FOR 2 ROOMS & I SUPPOSED TO BE WORRIED ABOUT MY NIECES BREAKFAST? ALL I CAN SAY IS IM GLAD THAT WHOEVER WAS IN-CHARGE HAD A GOOD COMMON SENSE & TOOK CARE OF THE PROBLEM COZ I WAS READY TO PAY BUT I WOULD NEVER STEP A FOOT IN YOUR HOTEL EVER AGAIN. DONT GET ME WRONG I LOVED YOUR HOTEL FOR MANY REASONS THATS WHY I KEPT COMING BACK. CLOSED TO THE AIRPORT, SHOPPING MALL, MY CHURCH BACLARAN, GREAT AMBIENCE, FAMILY FRIENDLY & MOST OF ALL THE EMPLOYEES ARE NICE. SEE YOU IN A FEW MONTHS SOFITEL AND AGAIN THANK YOU FOR BEING MY HOME AWAY FROM HOME...SINCERELY, GINA P. NALL U.S.A.

Location is fine, restrictions on clothing for breakfast and vip lounge, check in and out process take long time, the left take so long.

Overall is very good, especially staffs are very friendly and helpful with great service minds.

Service is consistently excellent. Needs to refurbish the hotel rooms though.

Overrated. Food arrangement in Spiral buffet is so confusing and too slow to refill.

It is noce place to relax and business.Especialy breakfast buffet....gorgeossss.You have to have that!!!

It is suitable as family accommodation with children of lower grades. Reception is very disappointing.

Hospitable staff with an amazing area for swimming, deck viewing, and an outstanding food choices..if you know "Spiral" then you know how luxurious yet worth the money the foods are.

Choose rooms on the upper floors. 2nd floor rooms smell moldy and damp. Rooms are dated.

This hotel is sooooo beautiful. You have to stay here for at least 2 days. Enjoy the pool, the view, and the buffet at Spiral. And don't forget the outdoor bar!

The hotel is beautiful. It really is a sight to behold. We are bringing our 11 and 6yo. They absolutely Love the hotel. The pool area is great and the water is warm according to them. The staff is exceptionally top notch. I am delighted. The location is close to Mall of Asia and they have shuttles to go there. We only tried their breakfast buffet at Spiral. I have never seen such a wide range in variety of food choices. I am quite impressed. The food was delicious and practically gave myself a food coma. I will definitely will stay here again.

I love this hotel. Sofitel Manila is perhaps the busiest hotel in Manila but Kudos to their staff for making our stay memorable.
Shout out to Chambers from Spiral for his excellent and genuine service. Our family loved their service.

Food and service is excellent. The rooms, not so much: for a luxury hotel you would expect the bathroom to have a bidet and that they'll provide you with a pair of tootbrush instead of just 1. Also the elevator buttons are funky at times and I hate how they don't allow you to bring outside food and snacks if you want to just eat in your room.

Dirty! Worst hotel ever! New brand for your hotel. The old room with brown water and a suite room with a greenish water... Just look at the tub. If it happened once then maybe, but it happen twice so that's unforgivable!

5 star....not sure... sure it has amazing facilities and the quality is great but the service really lets the hotel down. the staff are insincere and seem "fake". smiles are not real but forced. long waits for food. the only reason for the plus was the facilities and the contracted drivers for hire from the hotel. they were great.
but customer service must be improved. especially for a 5 star hotel! doubt I'll stay here again

Very accomodating staffs, and very courteous. Only drawback is the long walk from the parking to the reception area. Overall amenities is very good.

I felt "Welcome" and privileged all throughout my stay. A "Maria Clara" escorted me to the Club Millesime for a priority check-in. Gladys has been exeptional, addressed me by name all the time I went to the lounge. To be honest, I'm not expecting her to remember my name. The upgrade was greatly appreciated as well as the complimentary breakfast and foot reflexology. I also received a large bottle of wine and welcome snacks delivered to my room shortly after checking in. The Club Room is anything but perfect for me. I look forward to my next stay at Sofitel Philippine Plaza.

Always nice to visit Sofitel. This time around we did a short staycation to celebrate our 10th year wedding anniversary at the hotel where our families stayed in 10 years ago. Spiral is <3 we will never get tired eating here.

I'm leaving a 3-star review because when we checked in to our original room, there were molds in the bathroom and it took Sofitel a few hours to get us another room,. They eventually transferred us to an upgraded room after much back and forth.

Nice hotel/resort in Manila. You don't feel like you are in Manila. The prices are a little high. Everyone was very friendly and helpful.

Great Hotel. Great service. Good food. My kid loved the pool and the slides. If you're not a member yet, go be one. It's worth it.

the breakfast buffet could be better if you add additional dessert. the shangrilla heat looked like the have a better choices for breakfast.

Was treated to lunch here at their amazing buffet. Wow. I cannot tell you how amazing everything was. There were cuisines from all parts of the world; Chinese, Korean, Japanese, Indian, French, to name a few. Everything was gourmet. This is the buffet to end all buffets. I am not normally a fan of buffets but everything was simply stunning. Finish with one of their beautiful french pastry cakes, enjoy all sorts of cheese, bread, sushi, meats, anything you can dream of. Worth every penny.

This is the best hotel ive ever stayed in.
One thing more, the staff here in this hotel were naturally genuine especially Chambers who did an amazing assistance during our stay. He is very funny to talk to.

Accommodation is nice, we are welcomed nicely at the reception. Breakfast at Spiral always amaze us. The swimming pool is clean.
Negative though is the presence of cockroach in the CR. Room 1065

Breakfast at Spiral is a must in this property. Wide selections and too many choices you can choose from.

One of the best places to stay in if you want to have the resort feel in the metro. I will always love their pool. The pool area has a really chill vibe, especially in the afternoon. Order a glass of their mojito and enjoy the sunset view while lying on their mattress. They also have water Zumba.

They've also improved. The rooms and hallways no longer have that musty smell I remember; it now smells so lovely.

As always: Lanvin. Now who wouldn't love this?

I wish they could improve on the pillows though since they seem smaller (and gets flat real quick) than other hotels. Their bath essentials are complete but they could also provide a shaving kit. :)

When you enter the Hotel, the Place is REAL GOOD, It's 5 star experience. Customer Service EXCEPTIONAL. We were on the elevator going to our room, when the door opens, I stepped out thinking I was on the floor I'm supposed to get off. I found out I was on the Casino floor. The Staff that was with us told us "No locals Allowed" on the Casino. I was surprised there was such policy. If they think my Money is not good for them, I will go somewhere else. By The Way I recommend their Buffet. It's very good.

We celebrated our 5th Wedding Anniversary and the staff were very courteous. They even surprised us with a bouquet of flowers and a short greeting card. Although my husband was not able to fully enjoy our stay because there were a lot of people and it was quite noisy. We were only able to relax in our room. But all in all, it was a nice experience. I wish we could have enjoyed it more and I wish the food prices were not that expensive.

It was Mother s Day. When we ask a staff what are they gonna do to mitigate the situation, she said, it s always like that. it s normal.

Guests would have to wait an hour or so to be checked in. So much for a 5 star hotel.

Nice hotel with kind attentive staff. Rooms need an update quite tired decor and old facilities in the room. However the breakfast is outstanding food and service but comes with a very expensive charge, over priced. It cost the same as one nights stay !! For two guests.

Magnificent hotel, very large swimming pool, suitable for children as well as adults, a jacuzzi, sauna, hammam is at your disposal. The breakfast is grandiose (maybe too much for that matter) the rooms are very comfortable, as most people say, it is time to give this hotel a boost again, this hotel lived 10 years in the past.
A word of advice, take the clud if you decide to go it is definitely worth it

Spiral buffet....expensive...Yes...but nothing can ever compare. Amazing room full of CHEESE!!! Taste what thw world can offer in just one place.

It is such a great place. The peaceful ambience of this hotel is very relaxing. My favorite food in the Sunset Bar is the pepperoni pizza with a very stretchy cheese and it is very delectable. The breakfast at the Spiral is very memorable they have jams in a little jars and they also offer juices in test tubes which is quite cute. My favorites for the breakfast buffet are pastries, cold cuts and hot cocoa. The room is very clean and spacious. The beds are very comforting. We had a room service for ordering a Japanese Bento and everything in that bento is so good. The pool is very deep in some places so check the measurement first before taking a dip, there are lifeguards that oversees people who are swimming. They have a shuttle which can go to SM Mall of Asia then back to Sofitel(there is a designated schedule for the shuttle).

Nice atmosphere and buffet breakfast. There some old slot machines at the basement.Near the city center but quite and clean. Ocean view balconies have wonderfull sunset view.

Beautiful hotel with great amenities, and very friendly staff. One thing is use grab app for taxis, as the hotel will always give you a cab that charges 4x the normal rate and doesn't use the meter.

Im just curious..cuz i found this in my sisters pouch and she said she checked in there too..but i cant remember anything like this. Ill wait for your response ..thank you

chose this hotel to attend a friends wedding with my senior citizen mother at 79yo, we requested online for early check in and check out, upon arrival to the hotel at 1pm we were told that the room will be available at 2pm which was fair enough so we chilled by the poolside and went back to the front desk as my mother was feeling tired already and the front desk officer told us that the room requested for bay view and king size bed will only be available for another 2 hours wherein no consideration for the eldery or assistance was given to my mother as where to wait or apology that the room is not yet available even after check out as she cannot move quickly my mother called for late check out but the front desk officer replied ma am standard check out is at 12 she just needed an extra hour to get ready. Facilities are great but the staff needs refresher on customer care which the Filipinos are know for. Fortunaltey butler Romy was there giving great service recovery.

I am so disappointed with the room provided to us, it was so dirty. there was a time when my friend is looking for the socket for her to charge her phone, when she look behind the cabinet, there was a cotton buds there. The head boards are piled with dust.
Another incident, the room is triple sharing and so I asked them to triple the shampoo and conditioner as all of us are girls, after asking 3 times, there was only one set that arrived. the second day, nothing arrived. I hope that as you improve your service in the lobby and in spiral, same you must do with your room services. by the way... also, one of the linens were not changes. why am I sure? because it has a food stain in it hidden inside the comforter. I might still go back to sofitel to eat in spiral but never to stay again.
