A great place to play. Nice and spacious and beautifully landscaped with great food and drink. No shortage of friendly and helpful staff. If you lose something chances are you'll get it back, just go to lost and found and communicate and be kind. The best way though to not lose your stuff is to triple check that your phones, keys and wallets are secure. Zip up your pockets folks.

Great fun for the whole family. They have some great arrangements due to the pandemic so it's organized and not so crowded. Kids can take lessons, adults and older kids have some great runs for all levels from greens to terrain parks to blues and black diamonds. The snow is well groomed and good condition considering it's Southern California. Great refreshment options; barbecue, Starbucks drinks, bloody Mary's and more.
We experienced a snow storm the night before and the next day clear blue skies and sunny day. Perfect day for snowboarding when snow is at its fluffiest and softest. We had a great time and I only did the beginners lift, wasn't ready for the advance ones. We rented our gear at a rental place close by. It wasn't too crowded and enjoyed snow boarding.
Our trip to Lake Tahoe got canceled due to COVID regulations, so we went to Summit Ski Resort. It was a great experience. Definitely going back again. Staff was very positive, welcoming, lines were not busy (we went during the week), food selection was good and slopes are very well groomed and populous. There is something for everyone. Definitely great trip for us
Great ski resort. I went almost at the end of the season so snow was not the best. However, their trails seems to be long and with multiple difficulties for everyone to enjoy. I liked that they have multiple lifts that let you stay on the top of the mountain without having to go down to the base area
We came to Big Bear for the Labor Day weekend and tried Snow Summit for a chair lift to the mountain top. We found out there was so much else to do. Major summer attraction is the mountain biking. Lode the bikes on the chai lift and have a great run down hill. The kids loved the slide, panning for gems, the sip line and there is even a bike course for very little tikes. They also have a rock wall and a bungee jumper. The food was great, largest burger I ever got, about the size of a saucer. Back to the chair lift, if you are not biking there are also hiking trails at the top of the mountain with awesome views. Since we visited during the Covid 19 pandemic, we were pleased that the vast majority of visitors wore masks while near others. Now we want to return during the winter and experience snow in Southern California.
This has been my home resort for the longest time! It s especially fun when all the lifts are open so I could ride at the trails on both ends of the mountain instead of the main trail. Yesterday I had a blast on lift 3 even when there was a big crowd down at the bottom! Fast chairs with amazing views of Big Bear Lakes! Be ready of the holiday traffics and have fun on the mountain!
The reason I gave this two stars is because we spent TWO HOURS IN LINE FOR PARKING. To be fair, the actual snow skiing was GREAT. There were short lift lines and awesome snow for southern California. But, the rest of our day was pretty terrible. We arrived in Big Bear town around 8:45am from Los Angeles just to wait in a their two hour line to park. The reason? THEY HAD ONE EMPLOYEE FOR THE ENTIRE RESORT ACCEPTING $20 PARKING PAYMENTS. YIKES. I have been skiing at many resorts, and I have never seen a resort that was so incapable of handing the predictable crowds. After parking, we got lucky and only had to wait about 30 minutes for the shuttle that takes you from the parking lot to the mountain. But, we talked to others who waited well over an hour for the shuttle after waiting over two hours for parking. Do yourself a favor and drive to Mammoth Lakes from Los Angeles if you want to ski on a Saturday. It is a longer drive, but you will end up with more time to ski.
Been riding Snow Summit since the 90 s. I love the number of runs they have along with the 2 high speed lifts. Even when the line seems long the lifts move the lines fast and even at its busiest I don t ever remember waiting longer than 15 minutes or so to get on. Anyways, lots of amazing, long we ll groomed runs with opportunities for some powder runs in between the trees if you re daring enough. The west side of the mountain offers a terrain park. I d consider it beginner to intermediate with a few expert features, but mostly they re not as intimidating which is perfect for riders looking to progress their park skills. My favorite run is currently Summit Run because it s the longest beginner run around. My young ones can enjoy themselves without having to push themselves too much. The run is nice and wide and has a couple steeper sections to challenge the beginners (vs the bunny slope). Excellent all around mountain!
