The reason I gave this two stars is because we spent TWO HOURS IN LINE FOR PARKING. To be fair, the actual snow skiing was GREAT. There were short lift lines and awesome snow for southern California. But, the rest of our day was pretty terrible. We arrived in Big Bear town around 8:45am from Los Angeles just to wait in a their two hour line to park. The reason? THEY HAD ONE EMPLOYEE FOR THE ENTIRE RESORT ACCEPTING $20 PARKING PAYMENTS. YIKES. I have been skiing at many resorts, and I have never seen a resort that was so incapable of handing the predictable crowds. After parking, we got lucky and only had to wait about 30 minutes for the shuttle that takes you from the parking lot to the mountain. But, we talked to others who waited well over an hour for the shuttle after waiting over two hours for parking. Do yourself a favor and drive to Mammoth Lakes from Los Angeles if you want to ski on a Saturday. It is a longer drive, but you will end up with more time to ski.
