Smoque BBQ Review

Awesome- staff. Super fast service during a busy Sunday night. Love their food and the place is always clean. The catering is done well too. Definitely a great spot!

I thought it was weird when they tell you where to sit but it s because this place gets packed during busy hours. It s because the food is really good. My one tip is that the corn bread is just ok as a side. I think the beans or Mac and cheese are better. But brisket and everything was great.

Best brisket ever. I gave up meat because of cruelty in factory farms, but I will make exceptions for Smoque. Like the brochure implies, you must eat the brisket right away, or it loses its tenderness. Best barbecue sauce and mac and cheese too.
The smokiness lingers on your hands after you wash them, and that's all you'll want to smell all day. In the days to follow, you'll still be thinking about it and want some. It's like a drug. That good ol' Smoque.

I like this restaurant! They serve first-cleass dishes, they have a rich menu, The cook in that spot is very experienced, I enjoy very much trying all their food. The dishes are always fresh and tasty, the service towards the guests is helpful. I visit often this restaurant and I was never unhappy. I recommend it to all my friends.

When you walk in you have to order your food first and then they will seat after and call when your food is ready. Great food and Service!

Hands down the best BBQ in Chicago. The lines get long on the weekend and the decor is pretty spartan, but the food is worth it.

God I love this place. When it comes to Pork Shoppe vs. Smoque, it isn't even a question. The sauce is amazing and the pulled pork is always fresh and delicious. Fair prices to boot!

All the hype is justified, there s nothing bad here. Portions are good sized, but not huge. I have a very big appetite, went in hungry, and left full.

Have ate here many times and have had multiple things off of the menu. Never a bad meal. Everything that I've had has been very good. One of the best BBQ places in Chicagoland.

This restaurant is my favored. I eat in plenty of restaurants but to this place I go the most. The crew is very helpful and the food they cook is so tasty. I never miss an opportunity to have a decent dinner in this restaurant. I highly recommend this place.

Brisket was dry like it's been reheated. With all the hype this place gets I so disappointed.

The food here taste great. If you go at the wrong time, you maybe waiting in line for a while. The portions aren't as big as I have seen at other BBQ restaurants.

The Mac and Cheese is worth my 5 stars. It s is the best by far in this area of Chicago. Only wish they gave you larger portions.

We are very spoiled and lucky to have Smoque BBQ in Chicago. I have tasted brisket at other restaurants and nothing has even come close. If you are hosting a party or an office party, you can't go wrong by getting Smoque brisket by the pound. They even have mini-buns so you can just have a taste.

Currently my favorite tacos. The crispy shells are perfect every single time. Only available Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. I hope Smoque never takes them off the menu. I've had them 6 weeks in a row already and fully intend on keeping my streak going. The other food is good too, but man these tacos. Also bread pudding and gumbo. All the stars.

A modern classic. Ive been to BBQ places, coast to coast and I'm glad to live blocks away from one of the best BBQ places in the Midwest. Try the Brisket, ribs and a taste of sausage.

Out of this world brisket. Phenomenal ribs. For me the meat has to be the focus. Sauce is a side note. It just so happens that here it's all done right. Barbecue perfection!

Awesome BBQ--love their brisket and pulled pork. Try both the Lousiana and Texan style sauces. Get the cornbread or mac n' cheese on the side. Their chili is awesome too! Can't go wrong--there may be a line out the door, but you'll know why, and it moves pretty fast.

I'd definitely give them more stars if I could! The food is always amazing, well packaged and super fast delivery!

Went here with a few of my friends after getting sick of all the pizza and hot dogs in down town Chicago . The place isn't too pricey but definitely not cheap. Food is well worth the price as those ribs and chopped brisket were out of this world. Also, the Mac and cheese was very cheesy and gooey! Great Place for a night out with friends!

Definitely rates among my favorite barbecue. Top notch. Ribs were the best. I also like the smaller sides so you can try different things - it's a nice little portion. Also great they have a host helping to find seating for everyone as efficiently as possible.

Came here for second time after 2 years, this place is one of the best places for brisket and ribs, always fast and nice service, food is outsanding! Brisket is so tender and delicious that you are going to be speechles after trying it, my girlfriend had ribs and she was just amazed with it like I was with brisket. I love their sidedishes, cornbread and mac&cheese are excellent! This place is a MUST to visit! You can bring your own beer and enjoy the food!

I can't get enough of this place. It's the best. Extremely busy place, so be patient. Most definitely worth the wait. Brisket, ribs and pulled pork are amazing.. I have not tried the chicken yet, or the sausage, but I will tomorrow =)

I got the brisket with bbq beans and mac and cheese. Food and service was amazing and would come back again. Both bbq sauces were great. Best brisket in chicago and the desert was great too.

Great food, great service and great time. We came around 4:30 on a Saturday afternoon before it got too crowded. We brought our own tequila and beer (they do not serve liquor). We even took an extra order home.

Dry dry dry! I ordered sliced brisket juicy and fatty, Mac and cheese and corn bread. Literally, everything I had was dry and gross. I don't know why I keep giving this place a chance. No more after today.

BEST BBQ IN CHICAGO!!!
Had the 1/2 and 1/2 sandwich, Mac n cheese (BEST mac n cheese I ve ever had!), BBQ gumbo (AMAZING) and ended up eating half my friends Pecan bread pudding (I don t even like bread pudding) and so ended up buying one to take home! SO delicious! Going to definitely be a frequent spot!

FABULOUS BBQ. I had the brisket platter, along with the taste of sausage and 1/4 rack of St Louis ribs. Wife had 1/2 slab baby back ribs. We both had brisket chili and mac and cheese for sides. The Cole slaw was awesome, definitely something different, was very tasty. We both ordered corn bread, of course, which was amazing. Quick carry out, on a friday night. Only took about 15 minutes. Staff was very friendly. Definitely, some of the best bbq, I've ever had!! We both had the pecan bread pudding with bourbon caramel sauce...heaven!!

This was in the top 3 briskets I have ever had! Maybe the best. Sliced Brisket was tender and perfect. I have tried making so many briskets. Some we're delicious, bit this still blows the rest away.

The quality of the meat is top notch, and it s barbecued perfectly. I do not like BBQ sauce, and chains like Famous Dave s depend on that to cover up the quality of their meat. At Smoque, the meat and its flavors stand for themselves.

I've had barbeque at various places in the south. This stuff can't compare to any of it. It's tastes pretty good. The prices are rather outrageous. It's become a Chicago classic so, people will go inevetably.

Good prices, good service, good food. I definitely enjoy coming here. There's a nice patio. The brisket is good, the pulled pork is good; if you can't decide which to get, they have a 1/2 & 1/2 sandwich.

Every time I eat at Smoque I end up asking myself why I don't eat here more often. Intellectually I know the food is good but when I'm actually eating it I'm struck by just how tasty it is. Great brisket, ribs, smoked sausage, etc., are matched with terrific sides, like mac and cheese with a crispy top crust, beans with onions and chunks of brisket, and what are, in my opinion, the best French fries in Chicago.

My favorite BBQ place, I love their ribs and side dishes!!! The food is worth every penny. I've even sent them to my brother to El Salvador and he loves them too. Excellent staff and service. I highly recommend this place.

You have to go here!!! First time in Chicago. First time at this restaurant. I WILL be coming back for lunch dinner and lunch/ dinner tomorrow hahaha. PHENOMENAL people MOUTH WATERING food!

Hands down the best bbq in my opinion...the only thing they are missing is an Alabama white sauce

Oh my God. OH MY GOD! I just had the special: BBQ gumbo! It was wayyyyyyy better than expected. Seriously, so good to my tummy, it brought a tear to my eye... And that's not because of its heat! I'm getting another bowl to take home!!! (Btw, the staff was superb, too)

The best smoked barbecue I have ever eaten in my life.
I saw it on TV and went to see for myself.
The drive from Oklahoma city to Chicago was well worth the effort.Its a small place on a corner and the dining area is small but the atmosphere of good quality food and deserts changed my uncomfortable of sitting close to strangers into a delightful night of communication and mouth fulls of delicious foods that I wished I could stay and enjoy more of the other items listed on the menu.
