Absolutely shocking service do not view a property with these cowboys. I viewed a property put an offer in which was rejected which is fair enough then 4 weeks later they rang us back to say the vender has changed their mind and wants to except the offer. Solicitor informed mortgage lender sorted all paperwork taken up to the office. Then two weeks later an email sent saying the vendor has gone with another offer and no longer wants to proceed with sale to us. After informing my estate agents and solicitor what had happened they were horrified. They both said they were having problems contacting smooth moves in regards to the sale and they told them the vendor hadn t found a property yet which is the opposite of what they told us. The email to us said they had tried to contact us for days absolute rubbish more lies. It s disgusting how smooth moves conduct themselves we have now wasted nearly 3 weeks when we could have still be viewing properties. I will never view another property with them. Absolutely shocking behaviour.

Smoothmoves were running the letting of the property I am about to move into.

From their sales manager through to the office staff they have been more than helpful, have responded to my requests quickly and have helped me secure a great property. Compared to the Estate Agent I was previously dealing with they are streets ahead - great company to do business with

Smooth by name, smooth by nature....

Recently sold my house through Smooth Moves and i must say what a positive pleasant experience it was. I'd previously used them for renting my house and found them friendly, professional, reliable & hugely helpful.

So when i decided to sell with them, they'd already set the bar high! ;)

Karen was very helpful and managed to flatten all the waves/ripples before reaching me. She did a great job getting a great price, dealing with the buyer and doing the legwork of seamlessly gluing the whole buy/sell process together.

If i need to buy/sell or rent again i'll definitely be back guys!

Very rude female team member in Nottingham using outdated approaches with potential customers. The agents really need retraining on how to behave professionally. Sadly agents like this give the profession a bad name. They lost me as a buyer due to their abrasive approach.

awful arranged viewing and seller not even in. No response from them via email

Bought a house though these guys (phil). He didn't give two hoots about us, almost put us off buying the house due to how rude he was. Also promised to fixed a broken door handle/lock for us and after chasing several times over several months, they just never did it, even though it was agreed when we were buying. A year on and we never heard back! Would avoid using these if possible! Shocking customer service. Got their commission and never looked back or checked if all was sorted, as promised. Just disappointing!

I rent my house from smooth moves and all I can say is...a great company with great staff

Worst agency I have ever had to deal with. Beware, they discriminate and will ignore your application for no reason whatsoever. I inquired about a property and they lied straight to my face and made me wait for almost a month for a reply - which I never got one - only for me to find out that they had already rented the property on rightmove. I called twice about the property and they took my email and said they would send a video viewing and then we could move on from there. I never got the video viewing, a call or an emailing informing that the property had already been rented. Incredibly unprofessional, stay away!

Very hard to get hold of, certainly don't think of trying to call them on Saturday, and seldom pay on time.

Been with them for 4 years, and they are amazing. By far the best agency in nottingham! Always go with smooth moves and you won't regret it :)

We spent a month or so looking at properties to rent and Smooth Moves were by far the best agency we encountered. Both Trev and Jack were superb. We were met us at the property, shown around each room in turn and given all the information we wanted before we asked for it. They were always happy to talk to us and we never felt like there were too busy or rushed. We took the property and picked up the keys today when we also picked a whole heap of additional information we might need, including the meter readings that they'd done for us!

A friendly, honest and engaged team that I would recommend to anyone.

Highly recommend the Smooth Moves team. Since leaving Nottingham ten years ago Smooth Moves has done an excellent job at taking care of our tenants and the property. They have found wonderful tenants for us and we have never had our property empty. The sales team did an equally fantastic job recently at marketing and selling the property. 5 stars all round!

Excellent Sales Team, particularly Jo. Good service and good value. Couldn't recommend Smooth Moves higher. They sold my house for a good price and very quickly. I had more viewings, second viewings and good offers in 3 weeks with them than I had had previously in 3 months months with another estate agent (Express Sales 18 months previously). They handled all the viewings themselves - which is more than I can say for the other estate agent. And after the offer was accepted they did everything they could to help the sale go through to completion. They handled everything in professional yet friendly manner, kept me well informed and even manage to work around the inefficiencies of the solicitors to push the sale along.

Great company. I locked myself out of the flat late one night after only being there a few days. Phil came out with keys within an hour to let me back in. He didn't even charge me any call out fee! I don't know of any other letting agent who would do that. Thanks to all the staff here. They've been very helpful whenever I've contacted them.

i've never had such a positive experience with an agency before. I was with smooth moves for one year in nottingham and they catered to my every needs, and were extremely friendly and open about everything. After being with smooth moves, i went back to private student accommodation and i have to say, the difference is shocking. A lot of stuff at my new place is either cheap or damaged, and my landlord often doesn't return calls. If you're a student and you can respect the property and the agency, i would definitely advise smooth moves! 5 stars

Outstanding value and service from Jo and the team at Smooth Moves Mapperley. The auction pack is fantastic value for money when compared with conventional estate agency services and our auction went very well. In fact the the whole selling process with Jo and the team was very 'Smooth' .

Do not deal with these agents. They will also take the side of the landlord and try everything to keep your deposit. Their contracts bind you into a lot of stuff. Be careful and wary. Will not be using them again. They are trying to charge me for wear and tear. Please be careful.

Overall a fantastic, personable and decent company that made a potentially stressful time much easier than many other companies seem to make it. Certainly not like any other letting agents we've used. The team were flexible around our ideal move-in date, communicative and not pushy in any way. Their rates are pretty reasonable; rather than having a multitude of fees that add up (finders fee; inventory fee; reference fee; credit check fee etc etc etc) there is a single charge which covers it all.

Only downside is that they do pass your details on to a contents and building insurance company who are, unfortunately, downright pestering. To Smooth Moves' credit though when I mentioned this they did say that they are starting to have their own reservations about the company.

From a tenant's point of view my partner and I really cannot fault the team.

I have just moved out after renting with Smooth Moves for 2 and a half years. They are the best company I ve ever rented with and I was apprehensive after having bad experiences as a student with other agencies. Whenever there was a problem with the property, I would ring or email Smooth Moves. They would always get back to me the same day and endeavour to send somebody out the next day to fix any issues. They were always professional and friendly and would help out where they could.

I read some reviews that said about people not getting their full deposits back at the end of their tenancy and I was concerned about this. When I left, I cleaned the flat to a reasonable standard although there were a few marks and general wear and tear from the time I had been there. (Moving heavy furniture, etc). They came to look round the property when I handed my keys back and starting the deposit returning process the SAME DAY (full deposit returned). I soon realised that they were forgiving of any general wear and tear and weren t meticulous or picky. It was just damage that they would charge for, which is completely reasonable and stated clearly in the contract.

It s useful to know that Smooth Moves use the deposit protection scheme. The previous company I rented with didn t and they kept my deposit at the end although it was unfair to do so. This means that your deposit will be protected and returned at the end of tenancy unless the landlord can reasonably give proof of why deductions should be made.

I have recommended Smooth Moves to everybody I know renting or buying a property in the local area. A very professional company who genuinely care about their customers.

If you want to go with a company that has no integrity, morals, customer service or self respect go with smooth moves!!!

They're absolutely terrible when it comes to customer service and their attitude is only decent when they're face to face (fake) and you are giving them money otherwise they do not care about you at all (especially if you're renting from them).

Phil (the owner? Not the owner? He switches his companies house registration back and forth to his sons name and his). Which is interesting to say the least.

The staff are basically his lackeys and are typically young with lack of experience. They just follow his orders as he button bashes on a computer behind them with a desk that's about as unorganised as he is. He has this bitterness about him that leaves you uneasy. How a man could get joy from hurting other people is beyond me.

He has no idea what accountability is or how to look after long term customers and he treats everyone with lack of care and compassion. He seems to have an understanding that he is more important than anyone else. Which can only make you giggle. Not that anyone else has the same understanding as typically he works for us not the other way round. We pay you for a service Phil. Not the other way round. Not that you get much service as I have evidence on multiple occasions of him saying 'it's not my problem'.

The company is dismissive when it comes to hard work. I have multiple emails I can post to prove how dismissive and terrible they are when it comes to good customer service.

Please be made aware that they're not genuine at all and putting your trust in smooth moves would lead to disappointment especially if you want them to manage your properties.

Be warned.

Yes their fees may be low in comparison to other agencies but you need to ask yourself, why!? I wouldn't trust them with my garden shed!

I will post pictures of my property and emails in the near future or if you want any advise or have similar issues (2 other people have contacted me already about them asking what channels I am going down for compensation) please let me know.
