I worked on Readie's DP WORLD site as an agency labourer in Southampton.The management decided they didn't want to use my christian name,infact they refused to use my given name even when i complained.They decided to call me "captain" instead.When i explained my name was Ian the management team told me that captain was my name from now on.They wouldn't use the name my parents gave me.Readie management decided i should be given a new one.If i was black or asian would they have used a rascist name that could be equally offensive? By renaming me they were ridiculing me,which i found highly offensive.Slave owners changed people's names and that could never be right to take away people's identity. ...I fought for this country and think i deserve better than to be treated so badly by managers with such poor social and leadership skills.I will not give this company my time or best efforts again.I didn't last long on their site and since found out this site doesn't keep labourers here very long anyway.All the b* about staying until November was always a lie..I expect to be treated with a degree of professionalism.June 2020.What readie management weren't told and i couldn't be bothered to tell them is I've volunteered for the covid 19 vaccine volunteer programme.Not so big now are they.
