I didn't stay here I stayed in the bensmoor suite across the road which is owned by the Smiths. The breakfasts there where amazing and so was everything else

Nice hotel foods ok bar drinks a bit expensive but room was nice.

Went for a work meeting. Facilities were lovely, food was nice. Very relaxed atmosphere.

Returned for our first anniversary, same room. But saddly there was no hot water for our longed for bath, very disappointing!! Was told our suite was the furthest away from the boiler and would take sometime to run through. Not really good enough when we paid a tidy sum. Otherwise really enjoyed the stay

The very first thing I would like to post on is the about the staff at Smith's of Gretna Green, never have I found such h friendly and helpful people anywhere I have stayed, nothing was too much trouble.
My stay at Smith's I really enjoyed, the fpod I found excellent, the food at breakfast was great. The bedroom we were given during the stay was clean but a little tired. An extra easy chair in the bedroom would have been good, one each for my wife and I. The view from our room was fantastic. The bed I found was firm but that suited me. The bathroom was the biggest let down, yes it had all of the amenities but the finish of tiles and floor totally spoiled the overall presentation. A bit of care would have made all the difference.
Having said everything I really enjoyed my stay and would return.

This is a great hotel but there is very little to do outside the hotel.

Excellent from start to finish. Staff were friendly and helpful, an issue with our room heating was dealt with efficiently, the food was excellent and we felt Covid secure throughout.

Poor service waited an hour for our meal. Overhaul it was 2hrs for 2 people to have a main course and one apple and fig tarte tatin with ice cream

Every thing was absolutely great. The hotle staff were friendly and responsive and were probably smiling (masks). We were given room 8 and it had a balcony which was wonderful! The lass who cleaned our room was so friendly and managed to get the radio ("Smooth" which is mind numbing) changed to the TV as I had no instuctions regarding the remote, but that was the ONLY glitch. A great weekend and I thank all the staff, both front and backroom including the kitchen staff an waiters/waitresses. THANK YOU!

Been for friends wedding..was brilliant food and rooms were brilliant

Said would come and take our food order in ten mons never came finished drinks paid bill walked out

We were not stopping at the hotel but upon a recommendation we had a bar meal here which was very good. There were three veggie options on the main menu as well as a good selection for meat eaters to cater for most tastes. The service was good and the food delicious. We slleft feeling full and satisfied.

A very nice hotel with good sized and well equipped rooms. There's a good selection of food and drink at the bar. Being next to the motorway it's surprisingly quite but benefits from good links.

Fantastic rooms, modern furnishings, great restaurant and lovely function rooms. A fantastic hotel on the England / Scotland border.

Absolutely loved it here. The food for breakfast and evening meal was amazing. The reception area smelled devine it was so romantic. Flickering candles, beautiful flowers on the desk. As most people here are either getting married or going to a wedding it was lovely. All staff were lovely and friendly we got lost finding the hotel and the lady we spoke to was really friendly and helpful and directed us brilliantly. Our room was gorgeous with an added benefit of an iron and ironing board to help you with your wedding outfit. Our room had a view over the fields. We will definetely come here again.

Very disappointed with Smiths. Despite this being The wedding hotel at gretna green, the staff are grouchy, unfriendly and really unapproachable.

It took far too long to get our food, which was pretty poor in quality, the order was wrong when it arrived also. Getting drinks took a day and an age, and even when I tried to ask the bar staff where the bathrooms were, they acted as though I were invisible, continued their conversation and went to walk off without even attempting to help...

Incredibly disappointing.

We stayed at Smiths for 2 nights for our friends wedding there.
The hotel is impressive as you drive in and the staff greet you in a friendly, professional and polite manner.
Check in was easy and finding the room straight forward.
We had booked the deluxe double which was spacious, clean and the bed was very comfy.
Food in the bar was delicious (Try the steak, ale and haggis pie!) and the breakfasts were equally as good.
The reception after the wedding was superb. Food was great, bar staff fast and friendly and the room looked brilliant.
We would stay here again in a hear beat if near Gretna.

I absolutely love this hotel, food is delicious, and the rooms are beautiful, and if like me you were getting married, there is a hairdresser/ beauty room on site, which is a nice touch, I definitely recommend this hotel. I went back for my 1st wedding anniversary too. 5* and more.

Best hotel in Gretna. Nice rooms professional staff nice food

Hotel it self is stunning however the service in thw resturants is terrible

Only issue is camp bed for child had lots of springs missing

Lovely getaway hotel. We stayed in the cottages as we were a big group. Very nice!
