Stay away!!!! If you value costumer service then this isn t the place for you to stay and spend your money on. Plenty of other resorts in the area. Yes the grounds are beautiful you can t take away that from this place. My experience and review isn t about the grounds and it s astetics it s mostly About the daily activities and management. We had rsvp d for ice skating we called the hotel to cancel it Bc we got stuck with another activity outside the hotel and were running late. When we called, Tiffany at the front desk answered and I told her we were going to cancel our rsvp she said ok but you will still be charged the skate rentals for 2 people $20. They have a 2 hour cancellation policy I get it but things happen. My husband immediately got on the phone and try to ask nicely to please not charge us and we asked to speak to a manager. Tiffany put us on hold for a long time just to come back to say no can do you will still be charged the $20. That s infuriating! The manager did not bother to talk to us at all and just kept firm with the $20 keep in mind the hotel isn t even full. I guess $20 means more to them now. Initially we thought about coming again making this place a yearly trip but now no way. They can keep the $20. I ll go and spend my money elsewhere where they would value us as customers and cut us some slack. We ve spent money on the restaurant and at the lounge yesterday $200 in addition to our 2 night stay which was close to $900. Tonight we ll have dinner outside elsewhere. I know the hotel industry is hurting and therefor we wanted to eat and spend money there as well as to tip well. I hope the $20 goes a long way. Go else where people. Don t let them ruin your vacation. I will also let all my contacts and affiliates know to ignore this place and go elsewhere.

Staff was great and skilled at what they can do like skiing, snowboarding etc. Food was amazing and the overall environment is welcoming and fun with friends and families. I absolutely love the place. 5/5.

Mixed review. The physical plant of this place is gorgeous. The landscaping is beautiful. Great setting for any age. They are taking coronavirus precautions, but it seems more symbolic in many aspects. Only 1 of the restaurants has outdoor seating with a limited number of tables. The takeout quality from the restaurants is not so high - especially for the prices. Also, strangely it's tough to find drinking water around the property - I'm used to this level of property being more responsible. Went on a 2 hour guided hike and there was no advice about water needed - figured that's because they take care of that - nope! Heat index in the mid-90s and they don't have water available. Same on guided kayak trip. Same at lake beach. Not even to buy. Really no excuses - just disregard for health and safety. With regards to coronavirus, they restrict access but have people crowded for lines without regard to safety - especially for lake beach. When PA isn't reopening, these types of mass gathering areas will be why. The lake beach does have a really fun inflated, floating obstacle course - good for kids and adults (life jackets required). Staff was friendly like you'd expect in the Poconos. I suspect that management is putting a lot of their stress with restrictions on the staff and not being great leaders.

We had a wonderful stay over Beerfest/Super Bowl weekend. The rooms are cozy and lovely. The staff in all departments/areas was friendly and accommodating. This is my 3rd time at Skytop and I m amazed at the variety of activities that are planned throughout each day, every day, whatever the season!

A lot of things to do here. Sucks the bars close at midnight but you can always grab a bunch of drinks and sit outside. The property here is huge and just incredible looking. The deluxe room we got was a little small. The staff was just amazingly friendly and personable. We only ate at the taproom but the food was good, mainly bar food but still good.

The room is very nice. Bathroom is beautifully tiled. Roku TV with lots of channels. Great view of the garden as well. The service has great all around. We are here early spring so not everything is open yet. The menus from the different restaurants are very similar which has been a little disappointing but all the food we have had has been very good.

This is an amazing destination.

This is an amazing destination.
The good:
* The hotel is beautiful, staff is friendly and attentive, rooms are good and all the services and amenities you could want are here. It is however expensive as you would expect. I would love to come back when I'm willing to spend more.
* The trails are nice. We hiked to the waterfall which was very impressive and a bald eagle flew five feel over our heads. wow.
* Did i say it was pretty?

The negative: I only had two criticisms.
* First, I was not happy that the grounds crews did not thoroughly pick up trash. There was a wedding my first night so I expected to see trash the next day, but not all day long. There is one bench in front of the hotel that has a beautiful view of the lake but there was a empty beer bottle, cup and cigar laying on the bench for 2 days after the wedding. There was a beer bottle on top of a stone wall along the walkway to my room the entire time I was there. I picked up so much trash myself, I should have been paid.
* Second, Greed. I appreciate that they rent things and I fully planned to use them but the money-grab is obvious. if you want to do something, bring your own (bicycles, tennis rackets, ...). I wanted to rent bikes to ride and figured it wouldn't be cheap but $15 per person per hour is overkill. $60 for two, to ride bikes around for a while is greedy. I was also dismayed that they charge $10 per person to take a tour of the hotel. They should be showcasing it to anyone who wants to see it. It's beautiful, show it off. Could you imaging spending $40 to take a tour of the hotel you paid $300 a night to stay in? I understand and don't object to paying close to $50 for breakfast for two as that is part of the experience, but the other expenses just seem excessive and greedy.

We purchased a Groupon for the 4 hour course and it was honestly the best Groupon I've ever bought! My group of 4 had a great time and our guide, Nicky was amazing! She answered all of our questions and was so encouraging especially on the Black course!

We enjoyed our stay very much. The building is beautiful and very well kept. There was a warm and timeless atmosphere. The hotel was mainly empty for our stay. The trails were gorgeous and well kept. We also took snow board lessons and went horseback riding, and the staff were very kind and helpful. The waitstaff in the restaurants were outstanding. They we're friendly, patient, and helpful. The only issues we ran into with staff were some of the younger members of the staff who seemed a bit begrudging. Housekeeping was excellent. We stayed in a corner room on the third floor which was tiny, but cozy. The only complaint was the sounds coming from outside. On the roof outside our window were some heating units. Those could get a little noisy. Other than that we were quite comfortable. We would return for another stay.

The stay went just fine but we had to check out before we were actually leaving so we left our bags with the valet. They said they would go ahead and load all our stuff in the car before we got back. Turns out that did not include a pair of $200 pants which they can no longer find. Wasn't even offered an apology.

This place has an air about it that just leaves you falling in love with the charm. They have an eye for detail and everything is as you would expect from this level of accommodation. The dining is sublime and there is an extensive wine list. The chef always came out to talk to the tables. (I recommend the picked peaches starter from the Windsor! Perfectly balanced and delirious.) I stayed in a cottage which was very private and spacious. The staff is surprisingly cheerful and will go out of their way to assist you. Activities are plentiful. I would say it's geared more for spring through fall.

Skytop Lodge - 4 Stars. Skytop is beyond amazing, beautiful landscapes, incredible activities, and spectacular food. You may be wondering why four stars - the reason for four is simple - you can do sooo much more here! Yoga on the grounds, wine tastings, music - it truly feels almost like they cater to the elderly and not embracing younger couples getting away. The lodge itself is understandably old, but truly feels and smells it, plus add in the pretentiousness and four stars happens. This place truly has it all, it just needs to grasp the new age and make it an experience; a destination spot, a must! It makes me angry that they are missing out on so much.

Had a great outing with the company I work for here. That staff was great plenty of activities for the kids and food was amazing. The only thing is if you are going the food prices are a little high due to it being a resort so plan accordingly and look at the menus before you go.

I planned a surprise dayout for my hubby at the skytop adventure for zip lining and obstacles course.

The staff is great and the tour guide was very helpful and knowledgeable. She was fun and accommodating. The experience was AWESOME and hubby loved it. You need some stamina to complete the course. It is fun and exciting.

Claim to be a very well established hotel, yet carry themselves in a very poor manner.

The Staff:
-Very Rude
-Gave attitude
-Couldn't handle any simple task
-Had to repeat myself over & over again
-Would get mad if you asked questions
-Never received any email confirmations, yet my card was charged faster than anything
The Rooms:
-Very outdated
-claustrophobically tiny
-no control of AC
-ridiculously small bathrooms
-smell

Was there for my best friends wedding. Was extremely uneventful due to the poor management. Highly recommend you staying far away from this establishment.

Great place! The hotel, grounds, restaurants and everything offered here is just wonderful. We are not fancy people, but we really felt like royalty here. The staff is always helpful, above & beyond, with a friendly smile. There is a professional lightheartedness amongst the staff that makes one feel that really like working here. Highly recommend.

We went here mainly for the hiking and some winter events, but unfortunately for us it didn't snow! Nevertheless, we had a great time going on the tins of hiking trails on the property. There were also fun little activities to do throughout the day. We had dinner one night at the Windsor, which is located on the same floor as checkin, and it was great. They have an indoor pool and hot tub as well, which was an added bonus. This was definitely the prettiest lodge I have been to and although it is a little dated, it only added character. Hope to be back in the summer to check out those activities!

make sure not to leave anything in your room or it will be STOLEN! An item was taken from my room and management and front desk said there was nothing they could do about it. They wouldn t even let me ask the cleaning service about the items. Management then said the item was thrown away. I then asked to see the dumpster and management would not let me see it. Horrible customer service.

My daughters and I love this place. We ve been here 3 times and always had lots of FUN. The staff are super helpful and friendly. It takes about 3-4 hours to finish the obstacle course and zip lining. Highly recommend this place for family fun but not for kids younger than 10. Some of the obstacle course can be challenging for young kids.

My family and I (usually between 30 and 45 people) have been coming to Skytop for the past 23 years. Although it is usually just a long weekend, there is routinely a new experience. Skytop is the type of place where, if you encounter boredom, you have only yourself to blame.

Beautiful scenery, staff very friendly and accommodating. Never walked by anyone without getting a smile. Rooms are beautiful and clean. Great place for a family or couple's vacation. They offer several packages, and will accommodate your needs. The Lodge looks like a a beautiful stone castle and the inside of the Lodge has been kept to the antique appeal as much as possible even with modernizations and renovations. The observatory(watchtower) on the top of the building was used in World War II, and locals as well as officers took watch. You go to it now and it's as if you can feel the history. You can walk around the watchtower and see many many parts of the resort, and really take in the natural beauty Skytop has to offer. They have so very many activities going on for children and adults that boredom does not exist during your stay. Lovely gardens and landscaping. I suggest taking a walk around the property to take it all in, the breathtaking views will keep you amazed your entire stay.

We were there for a wedding and the food was mediocre at best. The cocktail appetizers were not good, air conditioner was barely working. Their service on the other hand is great, the staff are all very nice, helpful and friendly, service there was too notch. The rooms are clean but old. The grounds are nice for the family, I went there with 2 kids, 1 yr old and 3 yr old, though kids are a bit too young for many of the things to do. I'd give them a try when my kids are 5+, but never for a wedding.

I'll never forget my dad driving us up to the front patio, Mike opening my mother's door, and saying "Welcome home." I always knew that when I was at Skytop, I was surrounded by friends and family in a beautiful place. We would sit on the back porch in those rocking chairs for hours. We would come to the Lodge for tea and cookies and gather with strangers around the fireplace and become friends. Skytop offers something priceless.

Also please bring back the mini golf in the basement <3
