Skyline Boutique Hotel is a name to remember when ...

Skyline Boutique Hotel is a name to remember when visiting PHNOM PENH and willing to enjoy a lovely stay for a short time at his hotel or for a longer period of time at it's adjacent condo.

Fitted in a former private patrician Villa, rooms are for "boutique standards" pretty large with serious soundproof walls and a lot of little details and thoughts have been given and placed in each room by the owners for the well being of it's visitors.

Apart from the classic mini bar (2 bottles of regular water/day included) each customer will enjoy a large flat screen TV, a catle with free coffee, tea, milk choices, a multi-socket extension cord, a WiFi network (up to 5Mbits/s), each room being equipped with its own router and in case of no/low speed an internal english speaking technician, graduated by Cisco (switches&routers) will come at your request to fix and update the network.

A excellent medium soft matrass, a large wardrobe, 2 bathrobes + slippers, a boudoir table with mirror, double glass windows and very effective daylight blinds cover each window.

What was the absolute highlight of the house was it's restaurant and roomservice menus. I can't stop thinking about how pleased I was going through their choices of delicassies and masterly prepared plates. I specially recommend the Mekong river fish steamed with a delicate sauce. Each plate I tried was worth a Michelin guide restaurant. Add to this the low rates of each plate and you get little reasons to ever leave the villa again...

Also worth mentioning is their breakfast served with fresh, crusty mini baguettes!
Yes Phnom Phen has definitely kept it's french flair inherited from the French presence. A way of life you won't find anywhere else in other South East Asian countries.

I cant finish my review without mentioning the hotel private pool set up in it's fresh and shady garden. Fitted with a baby pool and a real swimming pool, aswell as long chairs all along.
2 appartements have their view and entrance giving into the garden.

The hotel also runs a second pool and a steam room which are situated at the last floor of the adjacent Skyline Condo and can be accessed directly from the Garden.

One negative remark I like to mention is the lack of professional behavior and respect towards customers that comes out as soon as they are confronted with a situation or issue they havent learned to manage.
The general tendency of nearly every place visited in Cambodia has been in case of an issue to first blame the guest.. ..which is a clear indication of a lack of formation and a failure to admit personel responsabilities.
I wish management would offer staff formation and a better chance of becoming professionals

The hotel itself looks nice, bit have nothing to do with a skyline because its surrounded by bigger buildings. We booked the family room, because we are 4.

First downer was when we moved the beds to one big one. A pile of trash, including cigarette buds appears ( see picture). That wasnt cleaned for a while.

Second downer was the breakfast for 3 even we booked for 4. No chance to to negotiate.

2 stars for the friendly staff, with a obviously bad management.

This place is nice for sure but the people that work here can barely care about you less. My mom owns a Range Rover (just bought- brand new) and we asked them to park our car near the hotel- on their grounds where it would be safe. As most of you know, Cambodia is a very high crime country where there are many thieves that will steal whatever they can... Especially things off of nice new cars. So when we asked- we not only asked the manager, but the guard outside too. And not only did we ask once- but twice. So we were obideient and said all will be will within one night. Even taking the time to ask the guard out front to help keep an eye on it and paid him extra. The next morning, the left side of our car's side mirror went missing. We reported it to the hotel- and they pulled up the surveillance and saw the man who took it. They were very hesitant on helping us pay for it and kept arguing saying it was not their fault.
We stayed at a near perfect five star hotel and paid a very good amount for one night expecting great service as it had promised. Me and my mother are very let down and couldn't be more disappointed with our own country. We got them to pay for it but they constantly tried to get their hands out of the mess they could've prevented in the first place- asking us if they must really pay for the damage. Like what???? I have no words for that lol

Had a very nice stay in this pleasant hotel. Very clean and tidy, excellent staff and good food. Two pools available to use. Lower pool shaded from the sun so not ideal for sunbathing. Overall nice hotel.

Very clean, very friendly and helpful staff, good security, quiet and close to some nice bars and food options. Really nice pool to cool down in after a hot day sightseeing. We took up the option of having breakfast included, very glad we did, plenty of options and very nicely presented by friendly staff.

Hotel in a very good location, near interesting bars and restaurants and a 15 minute walk from the museum and palace. They have a lovely restaurant that's not too expensive. The rooms are nice. It's wasn't as lovely as the pics, but it was spacious, modern and clean. Great, friendly staff, which was my experience throughout Cambodia.
