It is what it is plenty of parking regular buses and has toilets that are clean and modern
Lovely food and friendly staff will definitely be back maybe for the BBQ they do at weekends
Baked potato was warm and the sauce wth prawns was awful but I had this before and it was good so must be a change of chef
Went here with friends received a very warm welcome amazing food. Service was first class highly recommend a visit to this pub.
A good place stop cycling the Drake's Trail. Especially now that it is open all day all week.
Wonderful place. Great selection of food and AMAZING puddings. Staff were wonderful!
Had an extremely overpriced less than average cheese baguette here. Food is expensive for what is. Then my son found cockroaches in the men's urinal. Disgusting! Won't be going back.
Great food, excellent service, fantastic value for money
I spent an afternoon in this pub 7 years ago when cycling part of the coastal route, I bought raffles tickets and the next day got a call to say I had won a bottle of wine, I had got the train from Swindon in Wiltshire to Plymouth so said to the person on the phone to put it back in the raffle, the guy that owned the pub said if passing one day pop in and collect.... Well today I did!!!!!! Was cycling north to South Devon from Ilfracombe to Plymouth and couldn't believe it when the same guy still owned the pub and Yes gave me my bottle of wine, absolutely amazing that the landlord kept to his word
Thank you, made my day and I also put a picture of us outside the pub with the bottle of wine on Facebook for friends to see.
Absolutely LOVE this place. It's cosy and personal. The food is awesome and Victor certainly enjoys making sure all patrons are well looked after.
The 'Daddy Mixed Grill' is the best mixed grill that I know of in the Devon and Cornwall.
Nice atmosphere and reasonable price. Good fresh tasting food.
Always a cheerful welcome, good food, cosy atmosphere and (well behaved) dog friendly
Loved by all the family great traditional pub with a consistant standard of good quality food and service.
Had Sunday roast with family. Lovely meal with ample meat and vegetables.
Really friendly staff and great location. Went today for BBQ chicken and chips for the first pub visit since reopening and I was really impressed!
Popped over for a meal one night... excellent sausage and mash could eat it for a week!! Very friendly and homely pub on the Moors...get yourself around there.
Always a pleasure to visit for a swift one or two, just wish I lived closer. Victor and his team are very friendly and the pub is dog friendly too!!!
We were visiting from the USA and went here with friends from Plymouth. There was a mixup with the meals, where we had ordered steak pies but got chicken. That is why the loss of 1 star. Otherwise a perfect evening. The food was great. So was our hosts. I will hope to visit on my next trip over to Plymouth
Superb food , pleasant atmosphere , nice to see it very busy. Friendly. Very safe covid procedures , would recommend and.we will be back.
A tucked out of the way pub.
Good beer and great food. Going again this Saturday, can't wait.
Yet another great meal. The guvnor is a great bloke. Very hospitable and he knows his food n drink.
Best food ever, great atmosphere and very friendly staff had a great night tonight
Lovely, lovely, lovely pub..food was amazing and enormous serving. Lovely fun and friendly service. Will definitely be going again.
A very nice pub on the edge of the moor. We stopped in here for a geocaching event. Although we didn't have any food it looked delicious. The beer was tasty and plenty of parking. So a win win really. Well worth sticking your head in if you are nearby.
Good service lovely food, yummy sticky toffee pudding recommend highly
Cracking pub, realy cosy, the plates of food are massive, good garden too and a big green out the front. Have been surprised to find it closed at odd times though, so check first
Barbecue outside at the moment , bar outside all good , tables a good distance apart , only downside is plastic glasses but can understand why .
My friend's and I had a lovely meal. Staff friendly and helpful. We will visit again soon.
Landlord and staff are all very friendly and helpful . Nice log fire and country pub atmosphere . Order anything off the menu and you will not go away hungry as the portions per plate are out of control !!
Excellent food and very generous portions. Will go back for Sunday lunch.
Really welcoming pub, staff are great and locals so friendly.
We arranged with the current landlord to entertain a party of 30, many of them from the USA, for dinner on a Friday night and we could not have been treated better. The food was excellent, well cooked, promptly served and we were even treated to live music as the meal ended. The ambience is quiet country, I was assured that the varieties of beer on tap all tasted good and my house shiraz was a good brand. I would recommend this pub unreservedly
Fabulous meals, fantastic staff, great hospitality, can't fault anything at all. Would recommend it over and over again, in fact I already have.
Food wasnt up to much , very poor vegetarian choice.
Lovely little pub very friendly and welcoming staff and the food was really good and the added bonus of a free sweet for being the 200th customer
Great food, nice pint, really friendly staff, well worth a visit
It was lovely just chilling out in the garden with a shandy listening to the birds singing
Fabulous. Amazing and delicious. Highly recommended
Food was OK but my wife and I had steak which was tasty but the side was in one bowl to share but we differ in our taste for salt and vinegar so caused a issue
Very friendly. but very busy on the Saturday night when visited
Great pub on the Moors
Superb setting
They do BBQs on a sat weather permitting, great for bike riders
Can not fault really great food would recommend to anyone
Went for lunch but the cook finishes at 2 how old fashioned. Buy a pint and stand in the corner so the locals can talk about you.
Nice little pub that sell real ale and does food. Good for cyclists doing the plym valley trail. Beer garden at the back is nice but can get busy in summer.
Great portion sizes left feeling very full, excellent service
This hotel is not to be missed. Food was fantastic you would only need one meal a day. Cost reasonable and the staff fantastic. I would go out if my way to spend an evening here.
Friendly ambience, which was full of diners eating lovely roast dinners.
Had a drink here whilst on a walk. It was very awkward as the friend of the bar staff sat at the bar stared at us the entire time so we finished up as quickly as we could
Had a great evening staff and Landlord are very friendly. Food was great. Beware Portions are very big.
Fantastic beer, food at barbecue and super friendly service in the sunshine in beer garden with the chickens. Our dog had fab time too
Lovely food and lots of it !!
Setting is lovely
Lovely place for a meal with accommodating landlord and friendly staff. Dog friendly too.
It can be very noisy and the pub garden is disappointing. The food is good though with move puddings as well as good mains
Amazing food very friendly staff and covid safe. Definitely be returning. The pub is beautiful and once again staff were amazing and couldn't do enough
Great little pub out on the moors. Great ale, food andatmosphere.
Just what the doctor ordered. Took the family for a meal, very well priced, something always exciting on the specials board Wonderful ambience, great food, the team are friendly and always at hand to help and interact in conversations. Would I go again, yes so try it for yourself
Lovely traditional pub. Very welcoming when I dropped in for a few pints.
