After my husband and I bought our first house, we were recommended to consult with Skillings & Sons as they are a very reputable company (we used them for our well water testing and a few systems we ended up needing). After having been serviced by them on different occasions, my husband and I agree they are our Go-To company for any questions or concerns we have with our well water. They are responsive, always available for a call to discuss the matter, they properly analyze and diagnose the issue and will come up with many alternatives/options suitably for you. Very professional and we are always impressed /pleased with their service.

We hired them to install a new water filtration system in our kitchen. They did a very goo job and everything works great!

Sunday morning wake-up: No water.
8:30 - call to Skillings, 9:00 - call back from tech, 11:00 - On site (Dead pump), 12:30 - Water back on with new pump.

Our well pump died on a Saturday night in February and Skillings called back within minutes and was at our house first thing Sunday morning (would Dave been there that night but had two calls ahead of us). They had our well pump replaced (400 foot well) and back up and running within a couple of hours. The team was super nice and extremely knowledgeable. Highly recommend them.

Needed to replace the bladder for my well system due to lack of water pressure. They came in, diagnosed the issue and replaced the unit quickly, and at a fair price. I now have great water pressure and couldn't be happier.

Had no water pressure on a Sunday, got a call back immediately. They had a technician out the next afternoon who had system diagnosed in 15 minutes, work was completed same day and got my water back up and running!

The entire staff at Skillings, from the rep who took the emergency service call, to the crew who did the work, to the billing office, were knowledgeable and patient in addressing issues with our well. They were upfront about what the work would entail and answered all of my questions. They made sure I was pleased with their work and were always polite and friendly. We have used them on previous jobs before and have been satisfied with their work each time.

Absolutely amazing service. Our pressure tank blew and water was pouring in our basement. Of course this can't happen during the morning or early afternoon, it happens after 4 pm. I called and expected them to schedule it the next morning nope they were here a little over an hour later, Richard A. was polite, and thorough. The job was completed in under 2 hours. Thank you so much!!!

When our water heater broke down and flooded our basement, we discovered that we also needed a new well tank. Skillings & Sons technician installed a new well tank and pump in record time. Service and Communication were excellent. Thank you!

Their service is great, when they actually show up on time. Then you have the technician in a hurry and he isn't paying attention and almost runs over a 5 year old riding his bike? This company needs to seriously either retrain their drivers or find some that can actually drive a truck. I will NEVER call this company again, other than when I call to rip them a new one for almost running my son over! The guy just threw the truck in reverse and started back up in less time that it would take to chamber a pistol. Maybe if he wasn't in such a hurry because he was 3 hours late to his appointment he would have been taking his time.

Skillings employees always answer my multiple questions clearly and completely. In addition the service personnel explain everything they do and why they do it. Skillings replaced my old well pump. They showed me the old pump and explained why it died and how they determined what failed. I highly recommend them.

Skillings is our go to water company. From the emergency repair of our well pump to the installation of our new water filtration system, Skillings showed up on time and did a fantastic job.

We have a well and suddenly ran out of water. I contacted Skillings who immediately took the time to ask me to check a few things over the phone in the event a service call was not needed. Once it was clear the pump was not responding, they arranged to have a serviceman come out the next day, Skillings was very apologetic that they could not take care of us the same day as they were booked solid. Once the serviceman came out, he was professional, hardworking and even took the time to explain the issues our well had and how he was going to replace it. I was very happy with the whole experience ( except for losing water in the first place!)

Nice folks walked me through handling the water softener in our newly acquired home. They delivered salt and stacked it neatly in our utility closet.

To a person, the team from Skillings is top notch; responsive, smart, hard working and fair. Alan, Mitch and Bill performed our project under difficult conditions with a clear commitment to making sure everything was done right as economically and quickly as possible. Lisa from the main office and owner Roger Skillings were also quick to respond to us in a time-sensitive situation despite the present difficult times. I rarely review anything online, but I can not recommend Skillings & Sons enough.

Very happy with the service I have received. From basic preventative well maintenance to installation of new equipment. Pricing has been good, customer service has been quick and responsive and the technicians have been professional and courteous. Had service done during pandemic conditions and masks and gloves were worn at all times. Equipment installed was quoted a year prior and when I was ready for installation price actually went done and they extended me the savings. Not all companies would do that they would just leave at the previous quoted price and take the additional profit never letting you know of any change in market rates. Shillings did the right thing and gave me the best price. I will use again.

Skillings and Sons installed an irrigation well at my house in the 1990s before I owned it. It needed service now, and with the sticker still on I gave them a call. They were great. It was an involved job (pump replacement, automatic timer on a spinoff valve, etc), and they had to come back several times to troubleshoot a few minor things. They were very gracious about that, and the final result was fantastic. They seem to really know what they are doing, with in depth knowledge about wells, pumps, etc. I highly recommend them.

We had a failed solenoid and our well was being dumped...having only been in the house for 2 months we didn't know the well/filtration/rayon system so couldn't troubleshoot ourselves. Called Skilling on Saturday and explained the issue and they instructed us how to bypass the system to stop running the water out the discharge yet keep our water to the house. Rich showed up first thing Sunday morning and figured out that the solenoid failed almost immediately. Got to work right away to fix the issue, then showed me how to change the filter and fully explained how the system was configured and how to maintain it. Top notch service, friendly and knowledgeable. And extremely fair pricing for a Sunday service call. Thanks guys!!! Highly recommend...

These are the most caring and compassionate people when working with customers with serious water problems; can't say enough about this company.

We called Skillings with a couple questions via phone and the customer service and help was spot on. So when it came time to service our well, we called them. It turned out that the incorrect service was done - radon vs. well service - when I called to correct the issue, Skillings was prompt via weekend on-call service and the techs waived some charges on the second call. I am giving 4 star since we ended up paying for a service - radon - that was not requested and when the guys came back the next day....they replaced the well and corrected a part on the radon system that was not done right by the techs the day before. I then called with a billing question and was persistent about a charge. It ended up being a valid charge and the customer service person was patient and professional through out the entire call. I will continue to use Skillings.

A wonderful experience. The guys came on time with everything they needed. They expertly replaced the well pump, dealing with the complications without missing a beat. They were friendly and really expert at what they did!! I would recommend them without hesitation!!!!

The crew were friendly and helpful. Got the well pump replaced really fast. Labor cost seem reasonable but the price for the well pump seem high. Overall the service was great.

What an adventure it was to get water flowing again. Original service was provided by Tim and Mitch who found bad wire going to pump which was 3 wire. Couldn't pull 3 wire out so went with a two wire pump. Was happy to replace 16+ year old 1/3h.p. pump to new 1/2 h.p. and up the size of the pressure tank too. All was going great and was quoted a verbal price of $3,200 said OK and felt much better after seeing service call work form which they fill out after work is done. Parts $2,496 and labor for 2.75 hrs $524 seems fair and was happy to pay. After sanitizing well I was told to open valve 30 minutes and then close valve near pressure tank every 30 minutes to flush chlorine out for 5 hours. When clearish open main valve and all should be good. Well, I opened the main valve and was like man this is making a lot of noise and taking a long time to fill up toilet tanks. Flow was low and has thinking it was clogged pipes and tried to reverse backflow by shutting off pump and hooking up garden hose to outside, open drain valve and hope pressure from garden hose would reverse flow back thru main valve. Listened to pipes(put my ear to them) and found most noise was just before shutoff valve right after a blue plastic PEX pipe section with a shark bite compression type fitting to old copper work and then my old main valve.
All I could think of of is bad valve, teflon tape left in pipe, deliberate rock shoved in there so they could come back to do more work what the hell? 1:30AM it's time to go to bed. Next morning took a weak shower cleaned all aerators and screens in faucets and shower head, listened to pipe again and was debating whether to call my plumber or Skillings and Sons. Called Skillings & Sons and they said they would have someone there by 12 to 4 PM. Anthony and Joe showed up and were already on the job for 15 minutes before I got back from doing some errands (my elderly mom was home to let them in). Explained kitchen faucet goes to a trickle when you flush toilet and shower was weak. They took the Blue PEX pipe out and the Main valve and found a nickel in the pipe inside the Shark bite compression fitting and old work and main shutoff valve. They sweated on new copper and new shutoff valve (minus any coins) and all is well in the McCarthy household. No charge for this because it was their bad. I don't recommend any plumber use PEX fittings or sharkbite fittings if they have been in your pocket : )

We had an 18 year old leaking well pump pressure tank over the weekend. I called Skillings Monday morning and they had someone at our house that afternoon with the correct replacement. It was installed quickly and safely.

I always recommend Skillings...their follow up techs are easily available for questions, advice, and easy purchase of filters, etc.

Skillings is great! We are in a pandemic. We were in the height of the pandemic. I had an issue with my system. Skillings still provided immediate service and came 2 days in a row. This entailed their working in the home for a few hours. The Technician was a complete gentleman and not upset at all about servicing the system. He completely practiced safe distancing and wore a mask. Yay Skillings for having professional and qualified employees!!!!

We needed a quantity and quality test on our house in January with no electricity. Skillings had a tech out at a convenient time for us and was able to provide a generator and test and run the system without an issue.

Service was professional and completed when stated. Technicians explained the process in detail. I recommend Skillings & Sons.

The work we had done went fine, but we asked for a quote on some follow up work to try to quiet some of the pump noise (potentially by cutting in some flexible tubing in place to the solid copper that is acoustically coupling to the house) and that never came.
Follow up: Got my quote for the pump noise work after posting this review, so kudos to them for paying attention.

The service techs were able to quickly troubleshoot and replace my well pump switch.They let me know the service schedule and arrived on time as promised.

I have had Skillings and Sons take care of many of my water needs. Well pumps, water softeners, etc. Very thorough, knowledgeable, and fair priced.

They always keep their promises and are always very helpful when delivering water treatment materials.

We were looking for a 'ballpark' cost for iron mitigation in a home we are hoping to buy. The sales person (Shawn I think?) couldn't have been more professional and customer oriented. He provided a couple of options with a couple of different ballpark numbers. He was focused on helping us and we very much appreciated it. Skillings was the second company we called the first company were rude and put the phone down on us - so word of warning, don't bother with Capital Well; they stink!

They are responsive, but have had issue with them innaccurately diagnosing an issue after I told them what the issue most likely was. Because of the repair made it causes further complications which they repaired but not before it ended up costing much more than it should have if diagnosed correctly at start. In the end they did provide a refund to the initial visit. Overall a frustrating experience but they worked hard to remedy it. With that said 3/5 stars is where they stand as my honest rating at this time. I will say Tim in the service department is incredibly knowledgeable and helpful and I appreciate his help during my repairs.

I lost water pressure to my house late morning and wasn't sure who to called. After calling around, Skillings was able to dispatch a crew within a couple hours and by early afternoon, Skillings had come out, diagnosed it, and replaced the pump. Can't thank these guys enough.

Well pump died just before xmas. I called skillings & sons and they came out the next day (sun) to evaluate the problem. I did need the new pump, and they had it replaced by that afternoon. I was so impressed I had them do a water softener project for me soon afterwards. Awesome company to work with.

Great customer service. They drilled my well in 1995, and I only had to replace the pump once since then. Also installed a water softener and filter, which greatly improved our water. They supply us with the filters we need to keep the iron content low. I like this company for my water service needs.

The workers were knowlegable and installed the new pump quickly. They told me how to flush the lines to remove sand and sediment. This flushing did take a lot longer than they estimated however.

In fact back in 2012 when they were out for maintenance on our well cylinders etc they noticed my Renai lines were very dirty n suggested we get them serviced with our heating company n we did not know we even had to do that!!! So thank u Skillings for your helpful technicians and their great advice!!! Yes, we had maintenance done to our filtration system as it s been over 5 years n he did a great job!!! They are the one stop shop for any water issues. The best in town. Their workmanship and attention to detail are unbeatable.

The guys that came to our house were very knowledgeable and professional. They really seem to know what they were doing.

I had a really good experience with Skilling and son for our new built. They scheduled me without any delays and drilled my well. We got a lot of water pretty quickly so they reached out and asked if I wanted to drill more. After the foundation walls were complete, they came and brought the tubes inside. Once the house was weather tight, they came back and installed the water tank. We are in the final stage and realized that our PH was low so they accommodated our schedule and and came a few days later to install the second tank. Overall, I had a really great experience and I would recommend them again.

Skillings provided time and professional guidance to determine what options would improve the quantity of water from my well. Every person who came to my house guided me through the entire process and was very pleased with the results.

I had two service guys at my home because we lost water from another company. They told me they couldn t fix my problem because they didn t have the right equipment and that I should call Skillings. Skillings had my water back in two hours. Thank you Skillings for bailing us out and I will be using you in the future. Don t always go with the cheaper guy he may cost you more, with these guys they told me what could happen and what it could cost. They kept me informed while they were doing the job and the bill was cheaper than what my local guy was going to charge me.

We have had water pressure issues for a while and I ve troubleshooted some minor things myself but never felt like it was as good as it should be. Fast forward to this weekend when my pressure essentially all but stopped.
I spoke with a crew member on Sunday and they made sure it was an emergency.
The Skillings crew was great and easy to schedule with, they had a team over within 24 hrs.

Skillings maintains my well system, which included radon-in-water mitigation. I recently discovered that my well pump was performing as it should - not an emergency, but in need of attention. They were on site the next day, diagnosed the problem, which turned out to be a failed water connection due to a deteriorated gasket. Quick response, quick and accurate diagnosis, quick repair -- exactly what one needs for an essential system (else I have no water). They also cleaned the radon mitigation tank without an extra trip (so no extra trip charge). Very satisfied.
