Great local mountain. Our kids all spent/spend a lot of time here learning to ski and they love it. Conditions are consistently good. Lift operators are friendly and experienced. Lodge food is tasty and reasonably priced. I would especially like to compliment the ticket salespeople and their manager for efficient, kind, and helpful customer service.

One of the top 2 birthday parties we have had for our kids! Second only to Disney World because their staff was truly amazing. They handled everything and we played like we were kids the whole time.

Got to try out the 2 hour lift ticket (19/20 season it s $17 and valid non holiday weekdays) and thought it was a great deal. I ski a lot but haven t skied here in a long time since moving out west so this was a better option for me but for people that want to practice before going up north and just want to ski for a couple hours, this is the best deal around! Ps parents they re very good about making sure you put down the safety bars on the chairlift so you can feel safe.

Ski Ward is a gem. Great place to learn to ski or snowboard no matter what age. The instructors were able to teach based upon the individual s skill level. The conditions were great. Ski Ward must invest a lot of time in snowmaking. Apres ski was so much fun. The kids sat at a table and had dinner while the adults sat at the bar and enjoyed a beer or glass of wine. The bar menu rivals any bar food in the area. I wished they offered take out.! We had the burger and chicken quesadilla it was delish. Looking forward to Christmas Break!

I'm not a skiier but I want my children to learn. I've been taking them to Ski Ward for a couple years now for lessons. It's a manageable size for us and great for beginners. I like that I can see them and keep an eye on them easily. The chair lift operator is very conscientious and the instructors are great. The lodge could sure use a facelift and improvement to the women's bathroom facilities. Only 2 stalls in a cramped restroom is not adequate at busy times. I understand there is a lot of staff to pay but the food is quite expensive so perhaps there's room in the budget for upgrades someday soon.

Ward's slogan of Where it all begins is very accurate. They have a strong teaching program and multi week programs for kids. Great bar at the base to watch the kids do laps through the giant windows.

I will not being doing business here again. I bought lessons for my niece a week ago for Christmas with a helmet. Her mom got her a helmet so no need to rent for $50 a helmet - called the day after Christmas to talk about a refund for something that she isn't going to use and won't event start for another month but they would not give me a refund because it is their policy - BAD POLICY!

This place was awesome at first. I used to come here almost every day with my friends but that has recently changed. I went here with one of my friends who was learning how to ski. I am an experienced snowboarder and I thought that we should go to the T bar which is a lift that takes you up the hill. My friend has never been on the T Bar but he really wanted to try it. We got on the lift and it started pulling us up. My friend could not control his skis so then the T Bar started pulling us into different directions. He tried so hard to keep going straight but the T Bar would not stop moving. Luckily we made it up the hill and we were safe. We were so happy that we were safe and we agreed that he might need a little more practice before we both go on the T Bar together again and that a snowboarder should not go with a skier on the T Bar. We were so thankful to be ok but out of NOWHERE A SKI PATROL GUY CAME AND STARTED YELLING AT US!! He was being very very rude and mean. We tried explaining what happened but he did not care at all!! He took my PARK PASS which is the only reason I go there and I did not even do anything wrong. He also started threatening me and telling me he will take away my season pass!!!! He took away my freinds lesson pass for no reason and he said he will give them back in 2 days!! We were so MAD so we went to our parents and told them!! They went to ski patrol and told them it was all accidental but they did not want to here it. Ski Patrol is VERY rude and I think that the tall guy that works there needs to be fired!! They even threatened us infront of our parents. We ended up getting our passes when we left but we are DEFINITELY coming back to confront them!!

Neat little place. We were here in the summer where they turn it into a cool outdoor area where you can eat and drink out on a patio, play some volleyball, or setup some cornhole. Beer selection is a little limited though, but not terrible

great place, staff are very helpful and care, one patrol even helped my kid on ski tips seeing her a little unsure on the trail, will definitely come back and highly recommend to friends and families. Also the ski school has a dedicated area so you wont be bumping into other newbies on the trail

First night of ski lessons for the kids tonight went great. It was well organized for the first time, which is always the most difficult. The group size was small and the instructors did a great job. I am very happy we choose to go to Ski Ward this year!

The tubing lift people were some of the rudest people I have ever met. They yelled at kids for not being able to stop themselves at the end of the run. They had a giant tarp and if you hit it they yelled at you and said they would kick you out if u did it again. Why is the tarp their then! They made people responsible for stopping it s very hard to stop at the end, and the tarp should be there to help you stop. My friend was on a trail and she flew over the hill into thorn bushes and deeply cut her legs and had a scratch on their face. They need to have a better stopping system. It was absolutely unacceptable. Dragging your feet can only do so much. Get kinder staff who don t yell at you for not being able to stop

An absolute joy to visit! Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Being our first visit (we're from Florida) they took the time to explain the details and rules plus explained everything they offer. The staff at the tubing hill was friendly and knowledgeable. We had a blast!

I love this place year round. the staff is wonderful and the beer on tap is always amazing. Also, they have the best deal in town on Wednesday and Thursdays. For $10 you get a fresh big delicious burger, a cold beer of your choice and a bag of chips. Whaaaat?!?!? Crazy good deal.

Went here the day after Christmas with new snow on the ground. The beginner area had only the magic carpet open and both a rope tow and T-bar closed for no apparent reason, with no warning, and full price. Ludicrous and infuriating. In the lodge I get harassed for bringing my own food--a peanut butter sandwich for mid-morning snack for my son--something that has never happened to me in 45 years of skiing, including the past 2 years I've spent skiing Wachusett....where I will be returning. The lodge is extremely cramped with too much seating and no room to get on gear or shelving/hooks to stow your bag. Ward seems to have good terrain--I couldn't get to most of it, for some reason--but it is run like amateur hour.

I've attended events for the last few years at Ski Ward and have been impressed with the number of amenities that they have added, including beach volleyball, beer garden, tubing, tough mudder practice, and cyclocross practice/races, making it a year-round destination. They have a liquor license now, so even parties and weddings are an option

It's close and cheap. But the people there range from useless to proactively anti-customer. So while it's just 20 minutes from home, I'd rather spend my money anywhere else.

Went today with the kids. Met friends and their kids.

While riding the magic carpet, I picked up a 3-year-old about 10 feet from the end, so as to make the exit easier for all involved. I'd done the same with my 5-year-old ~20 minutes earlier, without incident.

The lift operator, Dave, thought it a good idea to stop the carpet. His stated reason- to "test my balance" (which he said he expected to be fine). In so many words, he stopped the ride to see if it would cause an accident with the three-year-old I was holding.

I'm a former professional skier. I was stable. I was fine. I'm also a big guy, so if I'd fallen, it's likely I would have hurt the kid. For what? So the operator could create this teachable moment.

I voiced my displeasure and advised Dave that I would be sharing this news with management, owners, and here online. From there, we parted and moved on.

But then Ed, the operations manager sought me out. His aim was to scold me for engaging with his staff. While Dave had been apologetic, Ed's sole interest was in defending his guy and the safety-based decision to stop the lift.

This is complete BS. From the ticket counter to the hill and beyond, this place is run by people who dislike customers.

Go elsewhere. Anywhere will do.
