Very extensive association of smaller ski areas, some of which are unfortunately only connected by bus. This results in relatively long transport times between the individual ski runs (bus + lift), if you want to drive several of the ski areas within a day.

Super experience, with skis , snowboard or just for hiking . A really fantastic view, many lifts and great snow even in March. There is something for both beginners and advanced. Especially because of the large area there is a wide range of possibilities

Not very accommodating with the reimbursement of costs due to the early end of the season. The ENORME price increase of the summer season ticket in summer 2020 for hikers from 154.00 to 290.00 is also not very customer-friendly. The new summer season ticket is now called the Active Pass and includes taking sports equipment with you, but this is not important for hikers. I don't buy a summer season ticket at this price - and as I hear from a number of friends. The huts and restaurants on the mountain will thank you!

A little patriotic maybe, but I like this ski area. It's too expensive everywhere anyway, then better in a "small" BUT very fine and yet, if you like, enjoy a very spacious area (there is the possibility to hop through the valleys).
Well organized, always at the forefront ... How many people work alone in the beautiful Zauchensee on first-class care ... Look Up
Unfortunately, skiing is going to be a bit expensive, but that's another topic. For the price, this area is TOP!
Absolute recommendation to enjoy the scenery around Zauchensee or Altenmarkt!

Skiing - only for higher earners!

Skiing - only for higher earners!
In the past 10 years, ticket prices have risen to such an extent that people with normal incomes can no longer afford it.
Over 50 for a day ticket is simply a cheek!
The slopes and lifts can be so well developed.
Local skiers are completely *****
If a family from Germany goes on holiday in Austria for a week and then does not come for the whole year, it probably doesn't matter more or less whether the lift tickets cost 40 or 50 per day.
But as locals who would like to drive more often, the only option left is a completely overpriced season ticket. So you have to drive at least 14 times so that it pays off. If you consider that the snow situation will also get worse with us in the future, you have to take every free opportunity (even in bad weather) to drive. And it's not fun like that.

Just over 20 years ago, my parents groaned when the family ski day cost over 1,000 schillings (2 adults, 2 children plus a little something to eat and drink on the mountain pasture). 1000 Schlling would be the equivalent of about 72 today.
Today, 200 is not uncommon for such a day. That is almost 3 times !!!

In summary, I can only say: The slopes are great (given the right snow conditions), the lifts too and the Amade network is very spacious - but the prices are cheeky and should be checked by the federal competition authority. Amade creates a monopoly here to dictate ticket prices. The only option is to switch to small ski areas that are not part of Amade. But it will probably not be around for long due to the strong competition.

In the past, every schoolchild in western Austria could ski - which will probably not happen in a few years - very sad!
And thanks to actors like Amade, who make the tickets more expensive by 1-2 every year ...

I wanted to upgrade from a multi-day card to season ticket ... was not possible despite repeated intervention with the Amade management ... although the company would earn more with it ... anything but customer-friendly ... then you go somewhere else ski drive...

Great slopes, questionable employees:

Great slopes, questionable employees:

My friend (speaks English not German) has dislocated his shoulder near the Radstadt valley station. He asked for a doctor at the lift in English. Apparently no one wanted to speak to him in English, he was simply given a business card by a taxi company. He tried to call there with his healthy arm, but no one wanted to speak English to him there either. He even sent an SMS with his location, but nothing happened. He was left in the cold for 40 minutes with dislocated arm and pain without help, until we were able to organize help from a distance from a hotel. Something like that shouldn't happen in such a large, professional ski area !! A lot of foreign tourists are coming now and you can't just refuse to help them ?! They also pay the horrendous lift prices!

Nice surroundings when covered with snow. Efficient ski lifts. Lots of restaurants on the slopes. However, ski slopes are not prepared well, especially when comparing with Dolomiti Superski. Lots of ice and bumps. In the afternoon, slopes look like mogul runs. Painful transfer from one hill to another at Schladming.

We ski here a lot. The reasons that speak for Flachau start as soon as you drive there. The ski area is perfectly located on the motorway. The choice of slopes is immense due to the connection with Wagrain and Kleinarl, the area is no longer passable in one day, here you can endure it longer than just a weekend . The lifts are all up to date. There are gondolas and chairlifts in all sizes. From the end of November to April it is a pleasure for young and old. There are hotels in all price ranges and restaurants. Those who are not tired in the evening will find a wide range of bars, pubs and discos. Flachau is always worth a visit!
