We attended Kentucky Kingdom for October's Halloscream event, and the experience was awesome. The two haunted houses alone (not counting the unlimited rides) were worth the price of admission, easily.

As a 17 year old, I am always looking for fun and safe adventure. Amusement parks are one of the few things I look forward to attending every summer. This year, along with my best friend and part of her family, I visited the recently-re-opened KY Kingdom and Hurricane Bay. Not long after I was there, I was aware that there were many bizarre rules in place.... Here are a few we found annoying and unnecessary.

1. The prices were beyond crazy, on everything. Beyond. Crazy. Example: We went to a Dip n Dots counter, and saw a sign that showed examples of the sizes: small, large, and LOL (lots of layers).... on the sign, it showed LOL being at least twice as big as the large. Deciding it would be a better deal to spend an extra dollar on that for the size, we purchased 2 LOL's and 1 large... As soon as we got them, the reality that the LOL was actually the same size, (even appeared to be smaller than the large) pretty much just smacked us in the face. "Ripped off" and "tricked" were two phrases that came to my mind. Also, adding to the absurd prices, KY Kingdom has a rule that you cannot bring in your own food or drinks, making it even more difficult to eat. Are they trying to starve their visitors? ... Or are they just trying to take all of their money.

2. After two fun rides on the Miles High water ride towards the end of the day, we noticed that no one was in line to ride again. We asked if we could simply stay in the boat and ride again, but the worker told us "If it were up to me, I would let you... but this park requires you to walk ALL the way around back to the ride entrance in order to go again." Why? Whyyyy.

3. When we went to Hurricane Bay, we decided it would be best to rent a locker. However, when it was time to shut the water rides down, a worker informed us that we could not get in our lockers or use them past 6:00pm. ...We had payed $10 for a locker that we couldn't use during our whole visit- big help.

When I got home, my parents immediately asked me how my day was and if the park was any better than it had been before they went bankrupt in 2010. Unfortunately I had to say no. I was disappointed, to say the least, and I recommended that my parents not take the rest of our family there. Once again, Holiday World has beaten another park because of their reasonable prices, safety, cleanness, and of course, their family-friendliness. I look forward to next year's trip to Holiday World & Splashin' Safari.

Rides are A Lot faster than you think! I was very impressed upon hopping on the first ride and the next after that and the next after that.
With a new ride and new additions - like Craft Beer Garden- this place is really making a stick effort to get guests in the door. Take advantage of the season pass- go twice and it's paid for itself. Or get a coupon from Kroger. I will definitely go back.

Nice local attraction. Rides for both young and older children. Wave pool for teens and adults. Nice separate pool with smaller slide for younger children. The trek to the pools can be a long one with kids.

We went during the week. There were small lines and tons of stuff for the kids to do. I wish I had time to check out some adult rides. They looked really fun.

The water park was awesome. Just could have beer booths more frequently. Lol. Maybe a few dozen less dippin dots also.

Price was great. We used the 29.95 two parks - two days out of state special for our tickets.

Price is too high for this park. Park is small and too many teenagers running around unsupervised. Not enough medium size rides. I don't like roller coasters but want to ride rides. And I don't understand how my 12 year old can ride a huge roller coaster but can't ride the ride that stays on the ground and goes around in circles. I probably will not come back. I would rather just pay the full price for holiday world or kings island and do one day.

These people that work here are very rude. They have no idea how to be kind as well as regretful for what they have done wrong. I would recommend that they do not get as much business as they have last summer until they get their faculty and staff under control. Especially their "security". So rude.

Went here because of my Hockey Nationals Tournament in Kentucky (we won btw) and I have never been to a better water park that was outdoors only. They had amazing rides, the staff were so nice, and I would definitely recommend going here if you are in the area, it is amazing

The rides were fun. But as far as staff goes, there were only a select few that were friendly. A lot of them it was apparent that they didn't want to be there. I think when looking at such a "family friendly" place such as an amusement park that does not look all that good on the company.

Every single worker we came across was rude, unfriendly, and looked angry. The cashier at the taco tequila place threw my coined change into my hand making it fly all over the counter. 2 of the 4 roller coasters were closed until noon when the park opens at 11. One coaster didn't open til almost 1. The wooden coaster is so jumpy it gave me a headache. Storm chaser has the worst seat design ever. It crushed my husband's shins, and didn't keep my son or myself secure in the seat. We both came out of the seat multiple times during the ride. When we complained to a manager about the awful experience we had they just said sorry no refunds. We will NEVER be back. This is not our first time here, but it will be our last. Waste of money and gas to come from Indiana.

We went here last summer (2018), the MWR at Fort Campbell has discount tickets that you can get. It's like any amusement park with all sorts of rides, fast food, gift shop, etc. Great for kids because of rollercoasters and other fun rides; lots of walking and waiting online, so wear sunscreen and sunglasses, sneakers, etc. We went here when it was on again-off again rain. It would stop, and then start pouring, and start up again. We stayed for less than an hour before we decided we just didn't pick a good day to go. There is parking that's available.

Nice amusement park, kind of pricey if paying regular admission prices. They do have a good selection of rides, ranging from kid rides to adult rides. The water park is big, clean and fun. Will visit again.

We love Kentucky Kingdom and had season passes a couple of years ago. However, this trip was a disappointment.

1. I recently got diagnosed with diabetes. On the way out of the park for lunch we stopped at the snack stand right at the entrance to get drinks. I ordered DIET Mountain Dew. We left, ate lunch, and came back in. We stopped at the same place and ordered a DIET Mountain Dew again. The girl stated that they didn't have diet mountain dew. I asked if they had just run out because I had just ordered it an hour ago. She said this location NEVER had Diet Mountain Dew. This means that I was given REGULAR Mountain Dew, not good for me. I don't usually drink Mountain Dew so I didn't know the difference in the taste. Luckily, my sugar isn't so bad that it would kill me, but there are people that it could. I felt bad with elevated levels the rest of the day.

2. My son rode T3 several times. On the last time he busted his nose on the harness. Accidents happen. My concern was that as he was gushing blood the workers did not offer to help, get him tissues, or do anything. They also did not clean the blood off the ride. He busted his nose at the beginning of the ride so there was blood all in his seat. They just loaded the next load.

3. The water rides. I get that the schedule said limited rides available in the water park for the first week of June. The only things that were opened on time/all day were the lazy river, 2 kiddie areas, and the main wave pool. There were no water rides open until 4, then they closed them at 6. When you spend over 45 minutes in line waiting for one ride, then there isn't much time for much else. We planned this trip and planned on spending the heat of the day cooling off in water rides, but that was impossible.

4. The employees move in slow motion. Not all of them, but a good few of them. I sat strapped in for 3 minutes while 1 girl slowly checked the harnesses. I understand she has to check them, that is not the issue. It was how slowly she moved. I rode it again the next day, and I was on and off in less than 3 minutes.

I love Kentucky Kingdom! I am just hoping that this review will help make improvements to make each experience a 5 star.

Me and my daughter (age 3) both love it here however I wish they would open in October and do the Halloween attractions like i remember when i was younger. Also I find that they need cleaner changing areas in hurricane bay. They are nasty and often smell of urine!! Also the lockers are a bit pricey.
