A good place for the kids to have fun in the sun, but the food establishment employees are very unconcerned if they have guest. Also, the park wasnt overly busy, but busy enough where some of the rides Should've had more than one train or cars going to help with line time
Very fun place to go with kids or just as adults if you like amusement rides and water slides.
Not the best or biggest amusement park but pretty good selection combined with water park. Second year as a season pass holder. Good value for people that live in Louisville. We primarily go for Hurricane Bay (water park) but take advantage of rides.
Kentucky Kingdom is a fantastic park. The rides themselves may look small on paper but boy do they pack a punch. Storm Chaser is in my top 10 coasters out of the 213 I've been on and man is it worth a plane ticket to Ride. On top of that the other thrill rides and supporting cast of coasters are fantastic!... Well except T3 of course :) There are also a bunch of family rides and coasters so there is a bunch to do here for kids who are not 54" yet.
Other then the rides the food is typical but very good and the park policies are very convenient as well as this place offers free sunscreen and will not Nickle and dime you like larger more coorporate parks will sometimes do. The place itself may lack shaded areas but it is well groomed and does look really nice. The customer service is also good as well.
Overall, there may not be the large amount of things to do here as a larger more major park but it does offer great experiences overall.
Great place and friendly staff. I enjoyed the water park and the roller coasters.
They don't have a place where you can watch live soccer on TV. I blame a specific employee, her name is Micaela
Our factory said it was only aisin today. Nope. 3 other factories and open to the public. The pizza was greasey and too expensive. I won't be back.
Love the park! Wish there were age restrictions on attending alone however.
Had an absolute blast here! We got a week pass, and went everyday 7 days straight! The park is clean, the admission people are kind and courteous. The rides for smaller kiddos, 2-5 year olds are more so in the front of the park, but there is definitely something for every age group to enjoy.
I'd suggest bringing a decent amount of money for food and drinks. Fries are at least $4-5, $4 for a small drink, and around $7 for a burger, but there are restaurants where you may get a deal if you're going as a family.
We'll definitely be back for Hurricane Bay before the summer ends!
Great family park! Great ticket prices! Tons of rides for all ages and the water park is fantastic. Will be visiting again!
Awesome ...went during the week the lines were short great time
Overall it was a really nice, fun place to go with friends and family. It could have been cleaner (particularly the waterpark)
Good family fun. Okay price. Staff was a little on the rude side.
I disagree with all of the negative reviews of this park, there are people who will complain about anything. Sure it isn't perfect but it's their first year. I am thrilled to have the waterpark so close to home. I will say that I wish there were more non water rides, but I'm sure in a few years there will be more. I am glad to see that the people coming here are better behaved and not like the old park, which was a teenager drop off place and dirty. I hope they continue to improve and keep the park pretty clean. With the season passes, the food and drinks are reasonable and they have added a lot of great rides in the waterpark. My family and friends have had lots of fun days this summer and I am glad that we have our own park and hopeful that they improve. Being new, I'm sure they know there are things to improve on and will consider everyone's reviews. Deluge is my favorite ride!
Dump, dirty, outdated I believe the only people that would disagree with me would be the two ducks that were swimming in the wave pool.
Staff is untrained... Staff is uninformed.... Some staff are rude..... I read these comments and thoughtht to myself, oh these are just hard to please people whining..... Nope.... 4 separate incidents in one day...... Park is acceptable at best.... Water park is less than acceptable...... Yea, a kid will have a good time.... But my review is this..... I will not be back, make up your own mind
The worst theme park ever the wooden roller coaster ride is falling apart! A 2x4 almost smacked the fence where my son was standing and when I brought it to workers attention the guy threatened to have me removed because I said it was crazy the ride was still running as bolts and wood was flying off the lady standing with him guaranteed that the rides were inspected once a week... The free sodas advertised are with a wristband you must purchase. the lifeguards have no concern for saftey of the visitors when trying to pass a life vest that had just smacked a kid in the head that was left in the wave pool I was instructed to just leave it in the water... Please go somewhere safer for your family their lazy river has concrete that is broken off and floating and on the raging rapids the railing preventing visitors from falling out a two sorry window was just leaning against the wall I watched as 2 families in front of me notify the workers but hours later it wasn't addressed or even taped off to warn people that their kids who lean on the railing could fall to their death! This place is a death trap! It's sad how bad this park has became I remember how it use to be and honestly I'm angry at myself for wasting my money on season passes for my son because we will never return. The one star I gave is for the sea lion show which was the best attraction and safest!
I love this place it is perfect for the whole family and ages
I highly recommend going here ever since I was in 2nd grade I'd dream of going there!!!
Even my friend from Ohio went there and told me how great it was!
I wish I could go every day in the summer!!!
Pretty nice little park. If you are looking for moderate thrills this would be a good place to visit. Storm chaser is an A+ coaster, but T3 is only rideable for the credit. Really nice water park and kids area, which included the cutest ever carousel. The employees were one of two types. Either extremely nice and overly helpful, or acted like every question was bothering them. Literally watched a security team member flirt with photo booth operator at storm chaser for more than an hour. When I interrupted to ask a simple question, was treated like a bother. Most employees were not this way, but there were several who didn't want to be there and it showed.
The families first time visiting this amusement park and we had a blast! Beautiful place with friendly staff. Something for everyone to do. We will most definitely be going back in the near future!
The staff was friendly and quite helpful overall. Wasn't a big fan of the park layout, seemed a bit haphazard. Some of the pathway needs to be something other and a concrete sidewalk because it starts to hurt the feet especially when walking to the different waterslides. Also a few of the slides were closed and was unsure why they were. There was also no social distancing or any measures to try to be safe in this unpredictable time.
Pretty great amusement and water park. Got very busy in the water park.
Fantastic place to go! Took my 10 year old for her birthday on a Tuesday in July. No lines at the rides! Water park was fantastic! Free sunscreen is for real! Only free parking and drinks for season ticket holders. Food was expensive and generic. The park is set up awesome with waterpark in the middle and everything else surrounding it. She had a great time and so did we!
This is an outstanding amusement park. The rides, food and facilities are top notch. I was impressed by the service and quality we received at such a great price. I highly recommend this park to families and groups of all sizes. You will not be disappointed.
Favorite amusement park. The lines are never ridiculous like some places
We've been twice already this year and have had a great time both times. We like getting in before the summer rush and the lines have been very reasonable. Looks alot cleaner and in better operating conditions than what I recall from me teenage years at six flags.
We we're thrown out because I was wearing my phone and money in a waterproof pouch that they sell. I had it connected to my necklace and was NEVER asked to remove it (I would have taken it off had I been asked). On other rides they just suggested tucking it in my shirt. I wear two shirts daily because I feel more comfortable that way, well on a roller coaster my tank top fell down there for making my case fall from my shirt and when I got off the ride with my daughter they had a safety officer three wire is up, tell me criminal charges could be brought against me and kick us out. No warnings. Nothing. The day before my sister in law and mother on law got mouthy with staff over a clothing rule, safety officers were called after the ride and they were given a warning and allowed to stay. There were a couple of details there I will leave out, but let's just say I was discriminated against. I have filed a complaint with the BBB, the park and will be contacting am attorney since they are free through my job. We will NEVER return here, the customer service is HORRIBLE. I do not like confrontation, never have, and had I been asked I would have removed it, but it was not a loose article.
So much fun for everyone! We had a large age span of kids 15, 14, 8 and 3. There was more than enough for everyone to enjoy. The park was very clean and the staff was friendly. We didn't want to leave! This was way better than other parks that cost more. We loved the wrist bands for free drinks, and we used them often! The only negative was the length of the food line and that the food wasn't that good. But we truly enjoyed ourselves and will definitely be repeat visitors!
My wife and I decided to go to their Halloween event for the first time. We had never gone to it before, and we thought it would be fun. It said on their website that they were open from 6 p.m. until midnight, and the tickets were about the same as a normal days tickets. When we talked. We went through did some roller coasters, went through there 2 haunted houses, and then as we were going back to the other side of the park to do some other roller coasters, we were told that they were not letting more people on the rides. It was just 10 in when we went to the customer service desk, they said that all rides were closing at 10. This was not advertised anywhere on the flyers or their website, at least that we could find it, so this came as a shock to us. We asked what we were supposed to do for the remaining two hours, and they told us to go through the haunted houses and go to their dance party. We could only go to the haunted houses once without paying an extra cost per person, and while we enjoy listening to music, neither of us had enough energy to dance. We ended up leaving after that. It seems like a bit of a waste of money to pay the normal price tickets and only be able to be there for 4 hours. If we had been forewarned about them closing the rides at 10, we would have been a lot less disappointed.
I'm not the roller coaster type but the rest of the family enjoys them. Overall, it was a good time. Lines were long at times but that's just part of it. It needs more drink stations especially in the heat of the summer like july.
Very fun! Super short lines, free water, and plenty of rides for the whole family. Rides for kids, adults and even rides for the people who don t really like roller coasters! Lovely park and great food. Good parking as well
Season pass is worth the Money, especially since parking is free. Taking the kids there is like taking them to the best park. Also the rides are really good. 5 story slide is super fun and the roller coasters are all equally fun!!
Plenty of entertainment, rides, water park, people watching.
Eat before you go. Healthy options are limited.
They provide sunscreen, take advantage of it.
Small, but the lines were short. Needs bigger roller coasters. Great water park.
It was ok. We did the out of state promotion which included next day free and free soft drinks. When I asked how the wristband went on the guy at the gate said "I don't know " and proceeded to help the person behind me. Frustrating! Although most of the staff is very friendly they are not knowledgeable about the park. They can't tell to how to get to the next ride or where something is it. At the 5D cinema showtimes are not posted. On the billboard outside it says 230pm. That is not showtime, that's when the show changes to the next one. My youngest granddaughter was able to get on some rides that required you be 48" talll but not others - Inconsistant measuring. Same day, same shoes, can't figure that one out! I drove past Holiday World in Santa Claus Indiana to get to Kentucky Kingdom, not worth it! Hands down, Holiday World is much better! Kings island in Cincinnati is also much better Kentucky Kingdom. I am definitely not returning!
Had a really fun time here! The staff was friendly, the park was well maintained, and the roller coasters were all pretty thrilling. This park is very family friendly! There are several small rides for kids and small water slides for them as well.
Great experience! If I lived closer, I would definitely consider the season pass!
Food is way overpriced, rides are not that fun for grown-ups. This place is ok for smaller children around 10-12 years of age.
Varied attractions and offers. Ideal for a good family day
Awesome place for thrills and to cool down but you can't fit all in one day you should really try the tornado water slide on raft
First time I loved it we came with the family and we had a blast would recommend this place to visit and next year when we go back to visit I am going to visit the park again
I know everyone is going to have different experiences. This was our first visit so just my general opinion and review that maybe helps anyone. My husband and I went for our anniversary trip getaway. We did the two day pass and hotel bundle which is definitely the way to go! If your going back just twice in one season, get a season pass to save! Parking is $8 a day. So the drink stations with free wrist bands is awesome and are well placed throughout. The water park, Hurricane Bay is literally in the middle mixed with the amusement park which I thought was really cool. Lockers like 10$ and mostly clean facilities I found. There is plenty of information on ride weight, height, other restrictions on and attractions. He knew going in that he's a large man, 6'6 xxl so of course the were two coasters he couldn't ride, swings, Etc. If your bigger person, pay attention to the info. But it was really cool that there were "tester" seats before you even get in line. There are so many attractions and things to do for all ages though. We had a blast! Friday was barely any wait in lines and Saturday was a little more crowded but still great. I did see there were maintenance issues on two rides, but they were up and running afterwards. The food is standard pricing and lots of options there. My main concern and lack of the 5th star was the employees in general. I know mainly high school/ college is the primary age group. The ride operators were all wonderful and pleasant! But there was a distinct difference between them and basically everyone else. Except the guy in beer garden who was informed and nice. The food service, drink stations, basically everyone else we encountered there were practically rude. I get it. It's hot, well, whatever but the lack of the training or any hospitality was a little ridiculous. I hope that is one thing that gets improved with the park. I do plan to go back and take the whole family next trip.
This was a awesome place!! I road rides I've never road. My family and I had a outstanding time. This is a great place to visit.
Went here with my son and we enjoyed ourselves very much. However the food and drink was too ...too expensive!!
Fantastic for the entire family !The 5D movies are a must excellent !
Excellent but maybe more people to help people get around. We got lost alot.
it is horrible the attention of the people and it is incredible that in a place of these there are no people who speak Spanish to guide those who do not know English or who arrive from another state like Florida there is great racism with the language nobody helps you I do not recommend this better place go to another water park
If you live in the area a season pass is a must. I like the size of this park. Not too overwhelming. Several fun roller coasters and plenty of rides for the smaller Kids. Though our season passes are primarily to get to the water park. We spend most of our time floating in one of the 2 lazy rivers and going down tube slides. They have great assortment if easy/not scary slides and bigger/more thrilling slides. After buying a souviner cup fountain drinks are only 1 refills and water is free. They serve plenty of alcohol and also now have a craft beer garden. They have a cute sea lion show we stop for often too. The park is generally clean and with the exception of saturdays and Sundays not too crowded most of the week.
June 27, 2014:
Thank you Kentucky Kingdom for by far the worst experience I've ever had at an amusement park. I had no idea the park was now a place to drop off your kids like a daycare center. I can understand why you hired so many off duty police officers. Too bad all of the adults, small children and police combined were still outnumbered by the 10-13 year olds there without parents.
Also, some of these unsupervised kids were by far, the rudest, most obnoxious people I've ever seen. A group of 5 of them screamed, smacked each other, yelled across the park and bumped into us continuously for the 40 minutes we stood in line for the antique cars.
That line wouldn't have taken so long if the staff hadn't decided to let every kid ride in a car by him/herself. The lady in front of us had 8-10 kids with her and every one of them rode alone. Oh, did I mention there were only 4 cars running???
I am so angry I wasted money on season passes for our family. I was looking forward to spending a lot of time there this summer. With the way it looked tonight, the park will be closed again in no time and will again be the eyesore of our town like it was for the past several years. What a big fat waste of hard-earned money. We could have had a better time somewhere else for free!!!
It was an awesome' amazing amusement place friendly service people and good facilities.
Had passes last year getting them this year great for my boys to have summer fun
