Ordered the oyster appetizer and 12 oz. peppercorn prime rib.

The oysters were fantastic, but the prime rib was one of the worst I've ever had. It had no taste whatsoever except for the overwhelming pepper flavor. One bite would be completely bland, and the next bite tasted like I was eating a spoonful of pepper.

The service was average. Nothing to write home about, but not something that hurt my experience. The views of the water we're awesome. I wish I could have sat there (sat at the bar instead).

Finally, for the price it made it all the more disappointing. For $75 with tip, I am expecting more than an awful steak.

The food was amazing. I had the clams for the appetizer and the halibut cheeks and mashed potatoes for the entree. Our waiter was very friendly and did a great job. The atmosphere was great as well. Totally recommend to anyone who's looking for some delicious, fresh seafood.

Excellent service, outstanding views, and TERRIFIC food. Only down side was the portion size of the scallops, there were only six (6) small scallops and for the price of the plate there should have been a dozen that size, or nine medium or 6 large!!!

I've made it here once for a work party and had a wide variety of food - all great. Plus free for me

cocktails at simons, get there early get a table by the window. drinks and food a bit pricey, but if you order the fresh fish or crab legs you'll not be disappointed. Chowder is tasty too. The dip and bread appetizers are just that...dip and bread, soaks up alcohol okay, but not very tasty.

I ordered a caesar salad, it was so drenched and soggy with dressing that I couldn't eat it! I used to love this place, but it has really gone downhill.

Yum!

Don't get the Alaskan sushi roll. Each piece is too big for one bite and the texture is to mushy and creamy with not much flavor. The salmon bisque was good. Overall, I do not recommend this restaurant.

My wife made reservations and she asked for a sea view because it was our 25th anniversary . As soon we arrived the hostess wished us a happy anniversary. When we got to our table it was covered in rose petals. Our waiter, Jason, also wished us a happy anniversary .The food was incredible and everything tasted perfect. Some have said the food is over priced but we found it to be within reason for the environment, atmosphere, and quality of food. And did I mention the service was prefect? Jason was on top of his game. We also received a complimentary dessert. I would highly recommend Simon & Seaforts to anyone visiting the Anchorage area!

We went to dinner here with family and it had great views of the water and their food was delicious. Our server was great. We would recommend reservations for dinner as they get pretty crowded but we would definitely go back.

The food here was first class! Appetizers and entrees all included fresh, well prepared seafood seasoned to perfection. There were many dishes on the menu for land lovers and they all sounded delicious, but our party was there for the seafood. The only part of the meal that was less than amazing was the dessert. It was also well made and beautifully presented. It just wasn't creative. The menu consisted of a few common sweets that are easy to enjoy, but also easy to forget.

I went to Simon s for the first time a few weeks ago and absolutely loved it! Everyone at the table got something different and we kept tasting each other s food because every meal was so delicious! I will definitely be back here!

Great place for seafood or steak if you are ready to drop $50 on a plate. Drinks are good but expensive as well. They serve King Crab in the greatest way, you even get butter with a candle below it to keep warm. Good luck with parking, it is downtown so find a place to park and pay. One of my favorites when I have lots of cash.

Both dinners were from the specials and both delicious. My husband had copper red king salmon with blueberry reduction ,potatoes and asparagus. My dinner was seared halibut with king crab over pea and lemon risotto. Spinach salads dressed perfectly as well.worth the price for the food and the view

Just a spectacular dining experience. We were promptly seated and our server was ever present. The Halibut cheeks were tremendous and the Salmon special was incredible. I cant reccommend this restaurant enough. If I had one night to eat in Anchorage, this would be the only option.

We got awesome service. The food is pricey. I am a complete foodie, for me the taste 8/10. The steaks are something that I can pretty much myself at home. Overall experience was good. I'd go back just because the service was good!

This is my favorite brunch place in Anchorage and I really shouldn't tell anyone. It's got the best Inlet view and excellent food and service. What's best for me is that you can always get a table.

Overall excellence. Nice surprise to find this place in downtown Anchorage. The seafood specials here were to notch. Started with the Alaskan Oysters from Simpson Bay which were quite possibly the best I've ever eaten. They also had king salmon this night which was prepared to a perfect rare over a bed of pesto and potatoes. They also had the halibut cheeks in a nice asiago crust. This place is a definite treat.

As can be seen by most other reviews this is usually a five star establishment and we have had five star food and service here previously. Last night, my family birthday celebration was not the case. Three out of four of us had no problems with food. My wife went home hungry with her undercooked replacement dinner in a box! On top of that, service which is usually top notch was notably slow as most of the diners seated after us were finishing their meals before ours arrived!

My wife s steak, ordered medium with no seasoning, came mostly well done so we sent it back. The replacement was not fast tracked as promised as we had finished eating our dinners before it arrived. When it finally arrived it was seared rare and heavily salted so she couldn t eat it.

When we sent the first one back our waiter returned with a pictorial doneness chart and tried to convince us (translated, argued with us) that the first one was prepared properly. Who wants to argue with your waiter when the food isn t prepared to your liking? (Especially at these prices!)

All in all my birthday dinner was a bust. My recommendation: still a nice restaurant but get the ($$$$) seafood not the steak and if your waiter is slow call them on it immediately (or ask for Josh). The manager was very accommodating but the damage was done.

Great dinner. The seafood is on point. They had the halibut cheeks on special. It was great. My business compatriot had the crab. The chowder was very good as well. Definately worth a stop if you're up in Anchorage.

Went on the recommendation of a friend and the halibut cheeks were fabulous! If you get nothing but the halibut cheeks and finish it with the baked alaska you'll be able to go home happy.

I have no idea what I ate here, because my friend ordered for me before I arrived to restaurant. But wss super delicious. Living here in Anchorage over 2 years, this wss first time I visited. Looking forward to take my husband here to enjoy the meal together.
Thank you.

The food was just okay. DO NOT ORDER THE CALAMARI. The batter was not flavorful and did not stay on. Also the bottom of the plate was covered in grease. I had said something to the waitress, but she just didn t say anything back. I found this place overpriced and overhyped.

Great experience during happy hour on a busy Saturday afternoon.

Tried quite a few of their appetizers and their entree etoifole? The dish with seafood and cheesy grits. Yum.

Rotating beer is only $3.

Service was solid given how busy they were.

The view is nice.

The exterior could be more impressive with better signage. Oh well.
