Great views. Younger get crowd. Little pricey but lots of fun. There is live music at times. Great location and free parking.

Took a couple of quick bites but they were delicious and light. The octopus was to die for! The goat bread was also really good and light. Looked like they had a wild party during the day but they still rocked our meal!

The happy hour special isnt very exciting. The food size for this menu are smaller than their children's menu. The drinks were pretty good. The bartenders were very nice and friendly. They made the experience worthy.

SOWhale is very vibey, gets a great weekend crowd. They play great music and the rooftop, omg, it was so nice this past summer. Also really great cocktails and bartenders.

Based off the drinks, service and environment here, I look forward to returning and trying the food off of their interesting menu! When I tried to order food I was told they were no longer serving in the area that I was in (rooftop)

The cocktails my friends and I had were delicious and the staff that we encountered were fun and inviting! We also got to enjoy their gorgeous rooftop and were fortunate to do so while their variety of themed igloos were up!

I look forward to visiting again soon!

Good. Bar was attentive for a Saturday night. A couple of groups dancing. Had college football on. Our group really enjoyed it

I met with my friends there for a bday brunch & I must say, EVERYTHING was excellent.
Yummy & affordable dishes, great atmosphere, pleasant and professional staff. Our server James and Mr Jimmy made our time very memorable. Will definitely go back whenever I go to Stamford CT.

Great playlist, food and drinks! Bartender was attentive and the crowd seemed satisfied. Doesn't need to be a Friday night as long as it's a nice day, this place is going to be lively even on Tuesday. Next time I'll invite my coworkers.

It really draws a yuppy, fake, immature and materialistic crowd (regardless of age). The talent pool is actually quite impressive (just don't look for anything serious here) unless you want something pretty to crawl into your Aston.

Visited this place on a cold winter night. The city of Stamford seems to be pushing Harbor point a lot, and this place is one of the first things you see. Only ordered a few margaritas over the bar. The food looked exciting. The ambiance is great. Service was good. Planning to visit again in the summer. The crowd was local, and all in all, a nice experience.

This bar has a nice rooftop spot. Great for a summer day. They have bags and Jenga games. The drink selection is underwhelming, but adequate.

Terrible service. Me and my friends were all 22 and they took our ID s for about 10 minutes and never explained why. The bar tender was like yeah... so uh what do you want? She was super bitchy and seemed like we were bothering her. We also were hoping to grab food but they said we had to be seated to do that. Okay... the kitchen didnt close for about 20 minutes but see, they had us stand around waiting to be seated for 15 minutes (they knew we wanted food too) and then when we finally got seated they said oh sorry the kitchen just closed . It was also a Monday so they weren t busy at all... overall-terrible experience and would never ever return here if my life depended on it. The manager guy with the short hair and facial hair was such a dick. Stay away and spend your money elsewhere, they don t appreciate you or your service.

Had dinner here with my family last night. Our waiter was really great. Disappointed to see french fries on the Gluten Free menu and when I inquired if they had a separate fryer I was told sorry so they are not Gluten Free which let me to believe some of the other items listed where not. I ordered a side salad without carrots (due to an allergy) and when it came with carrots, I was told they were sweet potatoes which they were not since my husband tasted one. The food was great, but I was disappointed at the lack of attention to food allergies.

July 4th the wife and I went for lunch , first timers, we thought it was on the water but it's not, it's just in a parking lot with the water way off in the distance and once the construction is completed across the street you can say goodbye to any water view.
Service stunk. One bartender who's obviously upset that he's working and one lazy busboy for the entire place. I ordered a roast beef sandwich, never do that again. Dry stale bread and three thick slices of dry RB that couldn't be eaten. I took one bite and left it, the bartender didn't ask me why I wasn't eating it. He just took it away and handed me the bill. I guess if you ask, you have to deal with it so why bother asking ..right.
Wife had the crab cakes and they're totally mushy on horrible bread.
The only thing this dump has going for it is the open roof. Never again

I came here as a recommendation, decided to make it a date with my partner. This place cute and chic, perfect to come with friends and on dates. It s a rooftop. Younger crowd, I would say ( not that I m old, or anything like that). This place is more for drinks I would say. The food is really good and they have a couple of options. We had calamari for appetizer, and for entry we had a seafood dish that s for 2, it brings shrimp, salmon, potatoes, clams and a side of friends. The sauce it brings is to die for, it s called something lobster sauce, very yummy. For drinks we had Mai Tai s, very strong. One thing they aren t cheap when it comes to putting alcohol in the drinks. It got a bit chilly, so my partner got cold so he order some tea and we had to order some coffee. But it was a really nice night.

I haven't had the food here, but I've had a couple of drinks here and they were awful. I ordered a margarita and another drink off the specialty drink menu and both were awful. The margarita was so sour and the bartender used a lot of sour mix in the drink. It honestly hurt to drink. I visited the location this weekend for a second time with some friends and ordered a beer. The beer was actually EXPIRED! I couldn't believe it, and I'm sure this may be common but I was shocked after realizing it. I told our waiter and he went back to the bar to see what the issue was. He quickly came back and asked if I wanted another beer. I ordered and about 25 minutes later my beer arrived. He said he went to call the distributor and wanted to get an answer, which I thought was super nice, but I wish I had my beer while he did this.

It sucks, because it's one of the few rooftop bars in Stamford and the location is amazing.

My friend and I ordered chocolate lava cake with ice cream. The waiter gave us sour cream instead. It was disgusting. Please, just say sour cream and not ice cream. The lava cake was good 8/10: but not with the sour cream. They re not the same thing. Very disappointed!!

Great vibe. Rooftop...roof....top. Need I say more??? The dj's they have are usually great too. Great food, better music, top notch drinks. It's amazing

Very strange that on a busy friday night i got better service than a mediocre football sunday, waited for about 20 minutes to get offered a drink then after my order was placed immediately helped someone else the minute after i ordered a drink and didnt even bother asking my friends will update if i come back but so far day staff inside is atrocious night staff are incredible

Always a good time! The bar, food, happy hours and atmosphere makes it so you always have a great time. I especially enjoy going to their roof top during the summer for food, drinks or just a good night out.

I can't really say how well they are at mixing drinks because I ordered a simple soda water and rum, while my friend got a beer. I have to mention this was almost 10pm and the kitchen was closing soon, so food options were pretty limited. We had wings, chicken skewers, and muscles. The wings were good. Everything else was okay. 5 stars for the music and atmosphere. A deduction for the food.

I have been dying to find a new brunch spot, and finally my search is over! My girlfriends and I went to the restaurant this last Sunday and the food was just mouth watering.. We got the breakfast empanadas- they were filled with egg, ham, potatoes, and cheddar with hollandaise. I could have eaten two helpings they were so delicious. I also got the French toast filled with whipped Nutella with a cream cheese drizzle.. I have never had French toast soo good. I have thought about it every morning this week and am planning a return visit this Saturday bc they were just that delicious. Overall the service was pretty good considering how busy they were and we definitely enjoyed the drink specials. I highly recommend Sign of the Whale if you are looking for a great brunch spot with amazing food.

I decided to give sign of the whale a second chance after a few years. I kept it simple and I ordered the chipotle bbq wings. Flats only please lol. The wings were perfect. Our waitress was very polite and attentive. The amount of wings were also very generous. Happy i have them a second chance.

I had thr chicken wings. They were immensely good. Great beer selection and cant go wrong with rooftop bar. Would've been a 5 star if the service was better. Had to keep interrupting the two rooftop bar tenders from their cell phones. Was hard flagging them down while they constantly checked their instagrams.

Went there for drinks with some co-workers after work. Drinks were great. Bartender was fast and efficient. He new what he was doing and could handle a big group. We ordered a bunch of appetizers such as sliders, soft tacos, wings etc. I think the sliders were the best. Roomy place and they even happened to have a live singer Thursday evening which was a bonus. Tip: you can park around the corner in the building garage. Tell Security you're going to the restaurant.

Was super busy while we were there. There was a large birthday group (3 tables) plus every other table around us was filled. The waiter was taking care of all of these tables, so he was understandably a little bit absent (we assured him that was okay, because we were fine sitting and chatting in the meantime), but when he did make an appearance he was kind and charming. The food was pretty good, too. Will definitely be coming back.

Fancy place, but high drink prices and inexperienced staff. We primarily spent time at the rooftop bar. The bartender told me I could order appetizers at the bar, but that I'd have to go downstairs to get a menu. Meanwhile there were two to three staff members standing together talking next to that bar pretty much the whole night. Only occasionally would one leave to fetch an ice bucket to restock the bar's ice supply. My friend ordered a Corona (which was 8 dollars!) and they gave him a Corona in a can with no lime wedge. Couldn't give him a glass with lime on the rim? Also, one of the draft handles was Corona. Why would they assume he wants an 8 dollar can of beer? Pretty weak.

Love the rooftop bar. I like that there seem to be a lot of young professionals usually there Food is always delicious. Place gets busy in the evenings. Drinks are pricey, but worth it for the nice venue.

The place itself isn't bad, but it's not my scene. If you are looking for a hip and young crowd with loud music it's a great spot. The rooftop bar is nice, but overcrowded and drinks are a bit on the pricier side. It feels more like a rooftop club and if you want a place to talk to friends or be intimate with someone I'd suggest a different location.

Amazing roof top bar, perfect for the early summer weather... Great place to have a good night out, often with dj s. Really complete menu with broad level of options for style. They also have bar tender, Erik Zeiss - He has won bartender of the year for Stamford 2 of the last three years.

Definitely check it out with friends, or bring a date to the happy hour.
