This restaurant had high reviews and there was a tip about happy hour. So glad we found it! Oysters are half price during happy hour (raw only). The staff was knowledgeable about the different oysters being offered. We tried several kinds and were happy with them all. We also tried the cooked oysters and those were pretty good as well as the fried fish and chips dinner we split. With all that, we were satisfied with our dinner that night. They also had some nice cocktails too. Enjoy!

The atmosphere was amazing and beautiful inside. Food and wine was pretty tasty.
But the ac was too much and we were freezing all the time, like cannot focus on the foods.
Also our server wasn t paying attention to us much, we had miscommunication for the order and I tried to ask him about order again but he won t even around us all the time, had to wait so long to catch him. And after all when I asked a food menu again he gave me a cocktail menu and again I had to wait 10mins more to talk with him. That was pretty unprofessional and disappointing.

We come here often. Yes, it s a hotel restaurant and it isn t cheap, but there aren t a lot a rooms like this one in Seattle and the seafood is uncompromised. Steps away from the University St. train station and the hotel itself is as historic as things get in this town. Friendly, professional service. The butter served with warm bread is no longer is sprinkled with black sea salt. Is nothing sacred?

The hostess was flustered, and kind of rude. The waitress was nice at first, but was fairly disrespectful, and talking down to us. To the table next to ours, she went into great detail about the options that pair with the fresh fish, but she simply told me they had "roast veggies or green salad." We had noticeably less attention given to us compared to other guests. Several tables that were seated and waited upon after ours were given their food first. And when the food arrived, it was delicious, despite the broccoli being slightly burned, and my steelhead room temperature.

Overall, a sour note at the end of our anniversary. The service and food was not worth the price. We won't likely be returning.

Recommended by friends, it was undoubtedly one of the best restaurants I've visited so far. I took Paella with seafood and enjoyed a variety of delightful things like crab, shrimps, octopus etc , sipping a first-class wine. Creme brulee for the dessert was a highlight of the evening. Superb service made me feel very comfortable.

My entire experience here was phenomenal. This restaurant is very classy and has amazing food. I highly recommend the oysters Rockefeller and the chowder. On my visit to seattle I made sure to try the chowder at each restaurant I went to and I must say this one was among the best. Highly recommended and only a short walk away from pike place market.

Service was extremely slow, their menu was way off (no Dungness Crab) and my $38 - 3 seared scallop meal was uneventful. Certainly not worth $13 / scallop. Not a place i will be returning to eat.

Excellent seafood in Seattle with great service. The breading on the popcorn shrimp and calamari appetizers was light and crunchy. The Olympic Oysters were delicious. I had the Halibut, which paired well with the roasted corn and tomatoes. The scallops and fresh pea risotto was also incredible. The blueberry and blackberry pie, which they might be famous for, was yummy also, especially with the sour cream ice cream. Would highly recommend!

Quality I'd expect at the Fairmont. Good place for a splurge. The grilled octopus and veg were perfect, the service was incredibly professional. And of course, the inside was stunning and surprisingly quiet.

Food was amazing!! I had the Ahi tuna and it was perfectly cooked. Also got to try a variety of oysters. 1st time having fresh shredded horseradish, and I'm in love with it! So much better than what I'm used to. Also got to have a celeb spotting.

Great little place to get a drink and a bite. Stopped by on day one of our Seattle vacation to have lunch and got alot more. The food and drink were good, we shared a few small plates and local beer and wine. The bartender Dave gave us great service and was an incredible source of knowledge. He spent a good amount of time informing my wife and I of all the different sites and activities in and around Seattle. He even went as far as to write down the notes and pulled out maps to show us where they were located.
Shuckers is cozy and casual with an upscale look. I plan on going back for the happy hour to get oysters on the half shell.

I had an excellent meal at Shuckers! We started by splitting a half-dozen fresh oysters (3 different kinds, absolutely delicious), then I had a really terrific Ceaser salad with 3 anchovies (yum!), and my companion had the New England style clam chowder. We each had a fresh fish special - me the rainbow trout, he the Atlantic salmon, both served with oven-roasted potatoes and carrot puree, paired with a delightful Sancerre for $68 (the perfect acidity to pair with both the oysters and the fish). He thoroughly enjoyed his salmon, and my trout was great. Service and ambiance were both excellent (we were seated at the front window), and the total bill for a shared starter of 6 great oysters with all the fixings, great rolls, a starter and entree each, and a bottle of Sancerre plus tax was $204.

An old fashioned "seattle oyster house" in the beautiful Fairmont Olympia, with superlative food and great service - highly recommended!

Came here last night to celebrate our 2 year wedding anniversary. This place nailed it. The oysters were so good. For my entree I got the King Salmon and my husband ordered the Scallop Special. First look at our entree we thought this would not fill you up. But it really does! Good quality of food. Our server was great. Came at the right time to check on us and what not. Had a good sense of humor. Wish I remembered his name now. Will be coming back for happy hour- oysters are $2. That's a steal of a deal.

Definitely need to make reservations during the weekend. We came on a weekday but lucky enough to make reservations last minute. Place is bit cramped but it's a nice ambience.

Been here a few times and the food is reasonably priced and rather fresh. Actually enjoy the lunch selection more than dinner. However, you should have a good meal no matter when you go.

This is a very likable restaurant. It's small and a bit difficult to get a reservation, but it's worth the effort. It feels a lot like home (or at least what you wish home was like), and the servers are super friendly and accommodating.

Very fresh seafood, outstanding quality, and price commensurate with that. $29 for a large seafood louie salad, but generous amounts of crab and sizable shrimp. Attentive service. Recommended.

My husband and I booked this restaurant to celebrate an important birthday. When we got there we discovered that we had inadvertently booked the previous night. Despite the fact that the restaurant was busy, the manager could not have been kinder. He quickly found us a nice table and we had a celebration to remember.

We dined at Shuckers for dinner having only eaten there for lunch previously. We made reservations early and were glad we did, the place was full. Despite the crowd, the service was impeccable. Constant people, yet the restaurant was clean. We had the ahi and the fish and chips. Fish and chips is easy to do, but difficult to do perfectly, yet Shuckers manages. the elevate the dish to a new level. the fish was incredibly fresh and the batter was light and flavourful. The ahi was cooked to absolute perfection: seared on the outside but pink in the middle and just a hint of warmth at the very center. Topped it off with creme brule for dessert along with some of the best coffee in Seattle and we walked away secure in the knowledge we'd enjoyed one of the better seafood meals we've ever enjoyed.

Oh my goodness! Shuckers has been on my radar for a few years, but I was skeptical since it's a hotel restaurant (Fairmont Olympic) and the prices high. However, today I asked a local shop owner about it and he said that Shuckers is absolutely worth the money if you want to go out for oysters, etc. With this recommendation (and since we're staying at the Fairmont for our anniversary), we decided to have our anniversary dinner at Shuckers. I am beyond satisfied and stuffed...trying to write this review before I pass out in a food coma.

First off.... book a reservation! Not likely to squeeze in last minute. We were a party of two, and popped in at 7pm, expecting a wait. But when they quoted us 2 hours, with nothing at the bar either, we were disappointed. We came back the next night and got in at 5pm. The mussels were incredible! Wait staff friendly, fish and chips were good as were the crab cakes, but over priced.

Was OK. Great views. No fresh bread or rolls with clam chowder. It was good with lots of clams. Maybe a tad too much salt. Sturgeon itself was excellent but the mole whatever that was along with red cabbage was uneatable in my opinion. Fish and ships were good but nothing impressive. Pasta with seafood was good but again nothing impressive. Overall for the price it lacked imagination and flavor so will not come back. Yes, I know I am spoiled.
