Proper IMAX, recently updated with adult beverages...
Proper IMAX, recently updated with adult beverages, can get crowded at peak but never too crazy. Probably closing in on needing a refresh as of 2018 but not bad.

An overpriced place to see a movie. If I can catch a movie somewhere else, I will go there before I go to this movie house.
Staff is friendly and some of the theaters are nice, not all of them are nice. I would recommend only the theaters with assigned seating.
Great movie theater and the most convenient IMAX in the East Bay (your next option is Metreon in SF I believe). Since movies (and movie food) has gotten so expensive, Ive become particular in what movies I will pay to see and I almost always see them in IMAX. Very clear/easy to figure out what is playing in IMAX and IMAX 3D if you just search on Google, Fandango, or the theater's website. Food is overpriced, but not anymore so than other theaters. Note that's how they make their money, their margins are RAZOR thin on the movie tickets themselves (that money goes to the studio), so they have to charge a ton for movie food just to keep the place open. If you don't like the food prices, DONT BUY ANY FOOD! You can easily get some of your own food into this place, just put some candy and a soda/water in your pocket or purse, no big deal. (If you just HAVE to have that popcorn, you need to be ok with paying for it. I love movie theater popcorn, but not for $5-8.) Friendly staff and clean (for a movie theater). Overall great experience!!
Terrible service at the ticket counter. Managers stood around joking in the back while ticket sellers were struggling with a difficult transaction. Meanwhile, customers are standing in a long line in the rain. Inexcusably, poor service
Pretty clean, there are lots of snack and food options, and lots of movie selections and show times.
Got up front parking, tickets were available right before the show for a #RPX version of the Joker movie and we got to pick our seats. Plus they have a nice selection of snack and food choices.
Easily the best theater I've ever been to in my entire life. The parking is plentiful and it's right near a Five Guys where you can eat and discuss after watching a movie. The building is gorgeous, and you can see it's wonderful architecture all the way from the freeway. While it's main attraction is it's ginormous IMAX Screen which has consistently hosted the best movie screenings I've ever seen (particularly Star Wars or Dunkirk), the RPX is also fantastic and can somehow compete with many of the other non-IMAX theaters. However I'd suggest staying away from the RPX if you have claustrophobia.
Sound system is okay. seats are okay... sometimes a little bit nasty depending on imax or rpx or regular... regular being the worst. food is ehhh not too many good options.
Nice theater, clean and not too loud. Very friendly crew.
It's not a place you'd want to be if you don't want to spend any money. The tickets, popcorn, and drinks costs so much.
I get free tickets etc.. So my opinion doesn't mean squat to other's. But I enjoy going there because there's no riff-raff! Like San Leandro and Hayward! Yet?
No reservable seating, which is unfortunate in this day/age for a newer theater plex. The bar setup is terrible, as their corporate policy blocks you from buying a drink for your spouse/date, so you both have to wait in line and lose out on grabbing better seats. That really needs to be changed, or just avoid the problem entirely by introducing reserved seating.
The seats were comfortable, but i didnt think the surround screen was worth the $5 extra, it was distracting, and made us dizzy looking back and fourth.
They are undergoing a remodel, but have managed to keep the theater clean and clutter free. I would have given 5 stars, but the concessions stand closed a bit too early. Granted, it was Christmas Eve. The theater we saw the movie in had screens that flanked the main screen and went up the entire wall. We saw Jumanji and it really made a difference during one scene where swinging bridges were involved. I have a fear of heights and my palms went sweaty instantaneously. It was thrilling though, despite my fear. Last, but not least.. THEY HAVE A BAR! Get your cocktail from a variety of drinks, some snacks and it doesn't get better. There is usually a relaxed and fun vibe.
Restrooms were clean, theater is large and never feels overly crowded. Ample parking with kiosks inside for quick ticketing and disabled person's parking and seating.
This theater is already starting to show its wear. Still the main place in the tri-valley to see a film. Decent experience, nothing unique and nothing standout. Lacks a feeling of quaintness, but that's the American SOP these days
Omg I have not been here in ages!!!
But I cannot recall how many times we've been here back in the days, will always be one of the good spots I'll remember as a child.
I still love the abundant space this theater has and customer service (shout out to George C - for letting my mom get the sr rate, who is between 60-65 yrs).
Just wish they start offering kettle corn and luxury seats(recliners) than the traditional seatings.
But overall still our go to place when we visit, it's a must lol
No seating numbers. One of the worst theaters I have ever seen.
Great Theatre. Line was really long for tickets but I still got seats. I would recommend Fandango if you don't want to wait in lines.
This is my childhood movie theater. The furniture and screens are kept updated and show no signs of wear and tear. Lines are never too long and there are many screens showing popular movies plus the occasional event movie. Food and tickets are extremely pricey so pack your own food. Food will never come out burnt or soggy or anything though. Staff are amiable and many are kids from town. It's usually quite clean in here. In 20 years I can only remember 1 or 2 technical difficulties.
It was nice. We will be going to see Scary Stories next week. Super excited. Thank you Regal.
They're renevating now but hasn't effected my experience. Good theater
Big screens and clean hall. Great sound. Loved the experience.
Nice food quality, and layout. But the customer service is pretty much by robots. No effort but gets done i guess.
Always a pleasure seeing a movie, here. Plenty of restaurants and eateries within walking distance of the theater, as well.
This place gets BUSY, but it's worth it. It's an actual IMAX size screen, one of the few around. As with all movie theaters, concession stand prices are ridiculous. Plenty of arcade games to keep the minions/teenagers busy while they wait, and a large lobby area which is nice
Everthing perfect, but the seats feels like a bus seat. We saw the Justice League and when we were leaving the theater, I felt like it was me who fought with superman.
Awesome movie experience!! LOVE THE POPCORN!!!!!!!!!
I feel Regal is needing a refresh. The place is kind of old. Nowadays everyone having a large screen at home, the need for physically going to a theater is less and less. I usually buy a bunch of 20% on sale gift cards, use them on the latest movies my kids can't wait to see as an outing they always enjoy.
Good theatre and nice location. Pleanty of restaurants around
Food selection around the theater is awesome! Location was a big plus!!
Clean theaters and crazy food prices like every movie theater
Great place to watch a movie!! Does anyone know the number I can call for the lost and found I left something in the theatre today and can't find a number where I can actually talk to a person.
Convenient location. Clean theatre with friendly staff. Lots of parking.
They are remodeling and when getting inside a terrible smell like burnt stuff was in the air. Maybe they had been welding all day long or something. However, the auditorium had a totally different (bad) smell. Like an old automobile where people left food and dirty clothes for weeks. I hope they finish quick this work. Usually we like it there.
Money spent is way more value
Small room, old furniture, noisy (near highway)
Just your typical oversized, overpriced movie theater.
Not bad, but far from great - the help is a bit young and inexperienced and the prices are way to high for microwaved food with cold centers.
Great to bring small children. They have free boosters for better movie viewing.
It's a decent theatre. It's not as fancy as some but it's definitely not a dump either. There are a good number of screens so you have better odds of getting a time to see your movie that works for your schedule. There are plenty of good spots to eat and drink right next door as well. Of course it's all run by kids so you really can't evaluate customer service very easily as the employees tend to grow up and change jobs quickly. The service you get one week could be entirely different the following week.
Nice place , special the bar ,couse u r able to the take your drink inside the movie room
I prefer regal since it is near by and also they serve the cheetos popcorn which is a must to try
Kinda sucks I hate the seats and how close they are to one another .very uncomfortable
I was there for the first time on Oct-15 to watch a Hindi movie "War". The theater itself is clean, safe, and well-maintained. I really liked the theater. Reason my review is 4-star and not 5-star is: The A/C was off OR wasn't effective for first part of the movie, lot of us were sweating. Gradually, after the intermission we noticed A/C kick in and it got chilly - uncomfortable chilly. I am glad the movie was very good so more attention was on the movie and not on climate control. I hope the management sees my reviews and looks into this. I may edit my review to reflect 5-star next time I go to this theater :)
Very good place to hangout with friends. You can buy drinks and have it while watching the movie. Kids have some fun games.
Nice theater, very clean. Although I found the seats a bit more uncomfortable than most theaters I've been to.
I went to see it chapter 2 at 12:40 and when I went inside it was 30 min from finishing
Service staff were excellent. It was a bit pricey for the food. Water was over $3.00
Going on a Tuesday afternoon meant no crowds. The staff was very friendly. I was surprised to find a bar/cafe in the lobby which is pretty cool, although I didn't use it. I really enjoyed the neon and mirror elements in the ceiling. I found that they had a great selection of typical movie snacks and some unexpected additional treats like churros and burgers. The only thing I found to be seriously lacking were the seats in the theater. Several of the leather cushions looked torn from wear and tear. But they weren't uncomfortable.
For a movie theatre, conditions are acceptable. Staff is kind and clearly there is productive effort put into making the theatre clean. Recommend.
Really big theater with all the bells and whistles.
My friends and I love going to this theater! They have great seats, good quality movie, and even great snacks!
Great place for family fun lots of restaraunts in the area and the Theatre customer service is great too.
Nice complex, but filthy. Trash cans overflowing, popcorn everywhere, floors sticky. Needs much better facilty management!
Way off the beaten path for me visiting from South Bay but there is one major reason to make the trek: REAL IMAX not LieMAX. Nearly all the IMAX screens in the Bay are LieMAX, i.e. not the original size and scope. If you want a true IMAX experience then you will have to visit this theater and not the AMC theaters that offer essentially a slightly larger than average movie screen. Why pay more $$ for those when you can visit a real IMAX screen here at Regal Hacienda? Outside of that this is a pretty standard multiplex. Good location with plenty to do nearby.
Clean and spacious. Lots of room to move around in the lobby and corridors to your theater. If you plan on buying something, arrive earlier than you might think. Lines are long. Went to see an IMAX movie and the seats had little to no more cushion. By the of the flick, I was dying to stand up.
Nearest Imax to my location. Price seems good and the picture/sound quality was great.
NEVER AGAIN! If I could rate them low I will. I had 2 hours to kill before my next training so I thought I'll go watch a movie that I've been waiting for. A group of ladies kept yapping throughout the first hour of the movie and when I went to complain they did nothing other then place me in a later show. NOT good, he offered me my money back but he was nowhere to be found to get it. NO apology what so ever. Ruin my night and the movie for me.
FREEZING!!!!!! The absolute coldest theater I have ever been to. Everything else is fine but bring a full winter coat or a blanket.
Theater sound very bad I feel like TV sound better than that.
Pricey...but holy smokes. Great Effects and picture.
Great movie theater. Really big whith fresh popcorn. Alot of snacks. Price is a lil to high, but overall a great experience.
Inexpensive place with varieties of options of coffee.tea donuts
Great theater one of the 3 true imax experiences (super large screen) you can have in the Bay area (sf metrion and Newark are the other 2) lost a star because the house lights came on in the middle of the movie randomly for 10 min. Lucky it was a bright section of Thor but still distracting. Also the seats are designed for shorter people. I'm 6' and the head cushion was in my shoulder blades
Great theater! Make sure you use the atom app to get your tickets ahead of time.
