Showplace Bowling Review

Not the cleanest place and the staff doesn't really seem to care about anything

This place has no heat. The lane kept acting up. We lost time bowling fixing the lane.

Went here once for a school fundraiser. At the time they did not have the appropriate equipment for the younger children. I have heard since they have gotten the kids bowling apparatus. The issue I had was that a couple people didn t have pizza because they ran out, yet they paid. I think as a respectable business you get 2 extra slices and work it out with the organization later.

On State Island, near the hotel, it is a pizzeria with bowling alley, it is fine but it was for the attention that could improve it a bit.

Went on a date with my wife here recently and it was like stepping into a time machine. Retro dating! Good times!

I took my kids bowling. How much can you say about a bowling alley. It was a bowling alley. I wasn't overly impressed. Nor was I disappointed.

Great bowling place. Excellent for family night out.

Nice place for bowling with the family. Little bit of a mixed crowd though, even during the day. Not sure how I feel about my kids mixing with the drinking before 5 crowd.

This place by my research looks decent just if it were me in charge I'd put a huge facelift on this show but I'm not the ringleader there am I!

Lanes are ok, but if your at the end lanes near the door you might smell cigarettes smoke since people are smoking. Most of the workers are nice.

Expensive but the staff is friendly and the lanes are great!

Flashing lights on Saturday night make it hard to bowl.

We went there a couple of days ago to have a good family experience. The service was HORRIBLE! They made a mistake when we asked to play a certain amount of games. We paid over $80 and didn't even finish playing a single game. & even though they owned up to their mistake they refused to fix it.

It was great, enjoy the time spent with friends and family.

Something there to do for all the family..bowling, games ,pizza,comedy club and card show the beginning of every month!

I liked it ... I hadn't played for a long time and this time with my best company that didn't know how to play and beat me. We had a great time

Always a great place to bowl. Great for the kids, a date, a night out with friends. Food is average. Cute arcade. Nice place.

My opinion is based on my 1 interaction...
I called in the morning and asked to reserve a lane. They told me no reservations, first come first serve... league bowling ends at 8:30pm (it clears out), so come a bit before and add your name to the list.
Waited a while to go... I showed up with my 3 kids at 8:15.. was told... Oh there are open lanes when the leagues are going on, so since others have the open lanes there's about a 45 to 60 minute wait...
My kids were bummed, I was mad.. it was too late to start bowling with them at 9:15 so we left..
They screwed up... They could have given me a coupon or something.. but nope. I wasn't going to argue in front of my kids, but seriously... It was their screw up with bad information.
Side note: Place looked nice, can't complain about that. Lanes looked good, would have liked to have bowled.

Nice workers and seating on lanes. Small game room and no pool tables , but offered pool tables online. Their is a bar and quick eats.

i came here tonight with my boyfriend at 10:45pm and tried to get a lane which place was semi busy and the girl at counter denied us and said they are closing. the website and online says 12:00midnight so we drove 20 mins for nothing and had to cancel on the others that were meeting us there. poor business to do that to customers. will not be coming back.

We always had a great time there. Very nice and clean.

Fun with my kids and my niece. Always a pleasure to visit.

Nice place for bowling. Kids arcade needs an upgrade. But overall ok

i am not a bowler,,i went to see a friend, wow this place needs a massive renovation it is dirty,,and looks like there are a lot of empty space for rent ,,i can see why

The owner was very rude. I waited on a friend to join me and while doing so was asked to leave, in spite of buying food while waiting. I would never go back here.

Was a very pleasant experience. Many changes have been made in all areas of the complex, especially the game room. I truly look forward to visiting again and seeing what other improvements are being made. Keep up the great work.

Trash arcade decent bowling
Games are old and falling apart. They eat the coins and never dispense tickets. The poor boy behind the game counter is sweet and very accommodating. He needs 8 arms to help everyone at once.

A bit of a trip but it is worth it, it has an arcade and places to eat. I remember it used to have a billiards room but during my last trip it was closed. Hopefully that opens back up.

Fun place for bowling, I went there 2 days in a row to buy pizza and the first day I bought the BBQ pizza that they sell, they only had 2 slices left so I purchase 1 of the 2. The next day I went back they had the same slice from the day b4 YUCK! can u just imagine how long they had those 2 slices b4 I purchase one smh and then the guy serving the pizza had no gloves on (used a spactular for the first two but the 3rd NOPE!) and he was also handling the money as well REALLY!! Then when I confronted him about it, he's telling me he wasn't trained that way WOW. If that's the case one should handle the money and someone else serves the pizza. He was probably picking his nose are scratching his balls b4 I got there smh.

It's a nice bowling alley, however, the bumpers don't work properly and some kids had a challenging time with it. In addition, the people in charge there didn't seem to be the nicest people and treated us rudely.

Horrible lanes always breaking down. Carpets dirty. Gum stuck on the carpets. Poor management.

Great place to have fun with friends and family. To go bowling!!

Really great place to have a party or for a fun day out. Outside is not appealing but the bowling alley is clean and up-to-date.

This alley is okay, the lanes seem to break down regularly, and the prices are a bit high given the quality. Unfortunately, there aren't many other options on Staten Island, with Rabs being the only other choice, but quite far away from many people. Overall I'd say come here when they have a special on Tuesday nights or weekend mornings, otherwise it's a rip-off.

Sooo the balls here are back from the stone ages. If you re like me and have big hands !! FORGET about bowling comfortable here. There are no accommodations for people with large hangs and forget about someone trying to help you. Your on your own. ( with the time spinning ) and you pay by the hour so during that hour you have to deal with your lane freezing and the ball you rolled down the ally !! Doesn t come back up the shoot..

Fully maintained lanes, great bartenders, arcade games and billards. Top notch entertainment in a convenient location.

Place is run down. No more billiards, the nice pool hall closed. Half the Arcade machines do not work. Prizes in some machines are still in there from the 90's. Comedy center never opens. Place has potential but owners apparently do not care.

Terrible costumer service, the young guy basically threw my bowling shoes at me. Treated me with such disrespect

We had our soccer team's end of year party at Showplace. We had a party room and catered food for the adults and 2 lanes for the kids all for a very reasonable price. Natalie, our party coordinator, took care of us from start to finish! I would definitely recommend Showplace to anyone looking to have a party for a team or organization.

Very very dirty place.Employees are very rude.The pizza place is extremely dirty.They never use gloves and never ever smiles.The bathrooms are absolutely disgusting.Always problem with the bumpers and they don t even care when you let them know.Stay away from this place.

Clean and updated. $28 for a lane for an hour, 4 shoes and a pizza. Can't beat it

Mediocre food but luckily it's not too expensive but the floors are visibly dirty every time I go here, several times a month, and the lanes' pin machine rarely work properly for more than a few minutes. Also don't bring your own bowling balls here as the machines are guaranteed to scratch and dent them. Fun for casual bowling but not to seriously practice in.

A very modern bowling alley with several different "styles" of bowling. Traditional bowling is still available but called "bowling plus" and provides more statistics for each player from both a frame and game level. Pizza is pretty good too.

Definitely will be bringing the family back!

I absolutely love showplace and the entire staff! They make you feel right at home! Pizza and drinks are amazing! We always have a great time when we are there!!

The place was nice and spacious, though the bowling space that was given to us had issues with the machine where the names are entered and had to switch lanes. The next problem came with the pin's not being placed properly each time the player switch turns. Had to reach out to the table multiple time to ask for reset. Hoping they would maintain their machines regularly and so the whole family could enjoy their time out there. In general, had a fun time the ambience is nice and friendly. There is an arcade center as well to play out for every one and a bar for the adults. a fun place for the whole family.

Nothing great but there's only 2 bowling alleys in Staten Island so your choices are limited

Alot of children running around and very loud....my daughter did love it... first time she went bowling....
