Best seafood in town, I'm always satisfied with my food.

My husband chose this spot for his birthday dinner. The outside seating was too crowded for my liking with the pandemic going on so we orderd while in the car and took it to go. The food was absolutely fantastic. We went all out and orderd 2 entrees, 3 appetizers and a dessert lol. We had:

Mussels w/ white sauce
Harpoon combo
Bermuda Triangle
Calamari
Stuffed mushrooms
Key lime pie

We don't have one single complaint. We live in Richmond but would definitely come back here!

I am visiting my brother who is in the air Force based out of Hampton. A group of four of us went out tonight to the Newport news location for dinner and we had an awful experience. First off, we didn't have any silverware, appetizer plates or waters. Secondly, my sister-in-law's food came out a good twenty minutes after our entrees did. And no comp was given or offered. Overall, we were there for a solid two hours. This is unacceptable.

My She Crab Blackened Salmon was soon good! The service was great. Negatives were that it was SO loud! We were next to a big group, but it felt like we all had to shout at each other to talk. Also the prices were on the higher end.. but again, the food was really good! :) I would go back.

I feel this place is overrated. Food is average, prices are high, service is fair. Always loud and crowded.

They have such warm, friendly service and great food that is locally sourced. The scallops and crabcake are flavorful!

How Harpoon Larry's justify's charging $3.00 each for sodas and IceTea or Coffee. When I'm sure their wait staff gets $2.13 an hour.
Oh that's right we tip on that amount as well.
We did enjoy our Happy Hour Liquor at $5 !

Food and service are good. Price is about what you'd expect for a seafood restaurant. I used to go to the old location on Mercury Blvd. This location is quite the upgrade.

Food was not great especially for the price, they ran out of specific food and did not inform until well after food was ordered. Took forever to get a seat and longer for food to arrive and one of the kids entre was cold when finally served.

The food was INCREDIBLE. Be prepared to spend a chunk of change on your meal. It's totally worth the cost, though!

While visiting family in the area, they suggested we order carryout from Harpoon Larry's. This place is great!

I grew up in Florida, and grew up around good seafood. This was one of the best places I've been.

Pro tip: when getting a table, ask for Holly. She is an server who went above and beyond for us!

We arrived early afternoon. The place wasn't busy at all. Waiter was very helpful however never came back to our table to check in us after we got our food. We had to wave a waitress down to get to go cartons and pay our check.

The food was delicious and our server was super friendly.

I enjoyed the she crab soup. There was a good portion of steamed shrimp in my order and the cocktail sauce had a nice kick to it.

Harpoon Larry's is good place to hang out good gumbo and mahi grilled sandwich and good beer

I don't think I have a single bad thing to say about this place other than that they convinced me to spend way more than I normally would. My appetizer and entre, and the bartender, were great. It was a very comfortable place that, based on my conversations at the bar, many locals go to frequently to hang out and get drinks. I'll definitely return if I get the chance.

Terrible experience!!!!! We have been coming to this location for 7 years now. We recently had a party of 6 for dinner at 7:30...not nightclub time. They chose to seat us next to their party seating. Within 1 minute of sitting we asked if there could possibly be a place more suitable to having a normal dinner where we could hear each other talk. The response was possibly, but there is nothing available now and I ll have to transfer you to another server . We really wished no ill will towards our server and felt she deserved the tip, so we stayed. That was a terrible mistake. The meal lasted one hour too long. There was not one point during our hour meal that we could hear each other. The shots kept pouring back to the two party tables and the noise level kept going up. The response from the junior manager was feigned-heartfelt at best, yet we still left with ringing ears and a lighter wallet. I probably will still come here for a late night snack, but doubt I will ever trust them for a dinner with my family. They need to build a separate dining area for parties, and the management needs to take guests criticisms seriously.

Staff wasn't customer friendly. Food was good. Bathrooms wet on floor. ATM didn't work

It's a little pricy for the portions but we usually really enjoy ourselves here and go most Mondays. Food is always great, everyone loves a good rumrunner, and they've always got great specials. We generally sit at the bar but ended up at a table the other night, which was not a fun experience. Ended up with a waitress who ignored us, even if we asked for something and who, when she finally came back to our table and dropped our check, without asking if we wanted more drinks (long since empty), more food (our app plates long since empty too, we'd planned on dinner), or ANYTHING, proceeded to stand at the table, arms crossed, staring around the dining room whilst we pulled out credit card out so she could run it, said NOTHING to us during the exchange, most bizarre encounter. Had to stop myself from asking what her problem was with us, haven't experienced anything like that there before. We'll return, but likely go back to the bar again as we did not deserve the service we received. :/

Edit - we've returned since that visit and enjoyed a great meal and service at the bar per usual. The twice we've had table service wasn't good but the bartenders are on point and the drinks and food is great.

Crab cake platter was lukewarm. Sent it back twice and it
still was not hot. Seafood needs to be cooked thru and served still hot. Bar staff is attentive.

Delicious seafood. Steamed shrimp is delicious. A little on the pricey side, but we'll worth it for the freshness of the food.

$20 for fish, side was supposed to be apple slaw, apple slaw was just raw cabbage and grainy rotten brown apple chips.

Our new favorite seafood restaurant. We had the calamari, fried shrimp and shrimp and grits. Meals were seasoned to perfection. Highly recommend.

Havent been there but a drunk staggered out 15 years anscrashed his car into the back of my friends car while chaging a tire well off pavement on I-64. Killed my friend j Proctor's. Need to cut off people's drinks sooner.

This restaurant has the best crab cakes in the Commonwealth. They are seasoned to perfection, large in size, with no fillers. We drive 2.5 hours to this restaurant and it is worth it. We love the food and the atmosphere. The staff are always friendly.

Seafood here is on point! I love the raw bar! Oysters are big freash and clean! Fish tacos, ahi tuna and blaclened crab cakes! Bartenders are fast and always friendly! Will come here again and again!
