Hotel is clean and beautiful, however on top of being one of the higher priced hotels in the area they charge you for EVERYTHING! No wifi, unless you buy it, have to pay for parking, even tho you're a hotel guest, and numerous other things. I will be staying at a lower priced hotel that us every bit as nice and includes the extras in the future.

they make you pay for everything and they spent more time working on the lobby then the rooms, you wont have a microwave, fridge, 10$ for parking per day, 6$ for the best wifi unless you use the free one, but that's garbage, and for breakfast its 6$ for 12 and under and 14$ for anyone 13 and above... ik u have to pay for normal breakfast but i could get a meal for 14$ and u have to pay that much per person..

It is very loud here and there are a million people running around here at night. There is no fridge so I get to drink warm water. The first room we had was very smoky so we got a different room. There is no free WiFi here so that sucks. It is so loud that I can t fall asleep here. There is also no free breakfast. Looks nice on the outside, but on the inside it ain t that great.

Nice motel and accommodating staff. Staff was up early setting up breakfast and was very loud. The set up allows for a lot of echoing. Started shortly after 5 am, that made it hard to get the extra hour of sleep I was hoping to get. Would consider staying there again of in the area.

Worst worst worst hotel I've ever stayed at. Entire experience was just awful even starting at the check in at the front desk where I experienced sub par help from a guy who look like chunks cousin. Worst hotel stay EVER!

The room was alright but there was no refrigerator and the glasses were dirty. The breakfast buffet isn't free and the WiFi is also charged per day. Not what I was expecting based on reviews.

Went to a wedding and reception at this hotel on 6/30/19. The meal was gross chicken was dry, green beans weren t cooked, rice was cold. Half the guests didn t get food, and half the meals took over an hour to serve. The waitstaff would all just disappear, no refills on drinks no picking up plates.
This was a wedding, and the bride was crying because they d paid a TON of money and the service was horrible.
The hotel also booked their rooms out to other people, even though there were rooms reserved for the wedding party.
Would NOT recommend having an event here, very expensive for such horrible service!!

I chose this hotel based on how it was described on Priceline. Now you may have a difference experience however, I'll tell you about mine. Priceline advertised the hotel as having free Wi-Fi, free parking and an airport shuttle. Now none of the aforementioned amenities are free and one doesn't exist. The airport shuttle stop running in March of 2020. Now after waiting at the airport for 45min, and seeing many other hotels run their shuttles, I called to find out I'd have to take an Uber/Lyft to the hotel. The parking is also $10/day. Why?... who knows. There's enough empty parking spots to park 5 commercial airliners in the parking lot. Also, no big deal on the Wi-Fi being a charge but it would've been nice to know ahead of time the Wi-Fi was an additional $12/day as well. These things add up to a major headache. With all that being said, I wouldn't have had any issues with anything of this had I been taken care of in any way when I brought this up to the hotel manager. The hotel manager basically said its not his fault. He put everything on Priceline and directs to me their customer service. Did Priceline take care of me after mentioning all of the above... NO. So I'm out of $60 in Lyft fares with ZERO compensation, and out of an hour and a half of my life waiting in the cold. The internet, never paid for. I was on vacay and didn't need it. The parking, I refused to pay. I parked across the street. I suggest it if you're staying a long time and don't mind burning a few calories. Its really not that far of a walk.

Booked my stay with Priceline. The Priceline receipt said taxes and "fees" were paid. Sheraton still wanted to charge $10 a day for parking, and basic wifi for $5 a day. Are you kidding? And no free continental breakfast? They were charging $12 for that. At least David Kavaliunas waived the parking fee, but I had to show my Priceline receipt to get that. Will I stay there again, or recommend anyone else stay there? Absolutely not!!

Not COVID safe - I you don t mind large gatherings, do not wear a mask, and find no need to social distance, you will be among friends at this hotel. When we arrived after 12 hours of driving across country, we walked into a large post-wedding cocktail hour. There were about 100, very few in masks, in the middle of the lobby. When we complained the staff they said that could cancel our reservation. Don t stay here.

I stayed here last week while I was between residences. I am sad to report: NO renovation or even commencement of one, NO early check in allowed even though the hotel was not full the previous night, NO functioning AC in the room, and NO beverages stocked in the club lounge during my stay. Andrew at the AM front desk did help to make it right, but the regular desk guys that I see every year when I'm there (you know who you are), need to be let out to pasture. Better yet, work for the Super 8 down the road since that's the level of hospitality they know. I think the general manager last winter said, "No renovation until Marriott buys Starwood (Sheraton)..." Well Marriott doesn't own the Sheraton WDM and never has. Since that was your argument last year, where is the massive hotel update promised? Is there even one room renovation started? Oh yeah, that GM isn't at the Sheraton anymore. I think it's time for the Sheraton to become a FOUR POINTS HOTEL!

Rooms are spacious. Located next to a lot of restaurants and grocery store options. The room we initially arrived in was exceptionally dirty so they switched us to another room. We were given an apology and some uncomfortable rhetoric coming from the manager to the person who checked us in. I am unclear how it could have been the fault of the employee who initially checked us in.

Hotel was nice for the most part. The lady at check in was less than friendly. The pool was freezing and the room in which the pool was located was cold. Management said there was nothing they could do about it. We had some very disappointed young kids who were looking forward to swimming. My biggest complaint is that our credit card was charged for $10. When we called to find out what the charge was for, they told us for parking!! Are you kidding me?? It's not like they have this big nice parking garage. It's just a plain, run of the mill parking lot that we had to park clear out in BFE because they had some sort of event going on there. I went back and looked on the website and nowhere did it state you had to pay for charging. In all my years of traveling for my previous job, I was never charged to park in a parking lot at a hotel!!! Needless to say, we will not being going back between the way our army friends were treated and the experiences we encountered, we will be taking our business elsewhere where they value their customers.

SCAMMERS BEWARE!

SCAMMERS BEWARE!
Purchased my one night stay through Priceline. Paid for my room in full 3 days before my stay. Checked out of the hotel and the staff charged me for another nights stay. I am traveling and need the funds back and they say I have to wait three to five business days. I told the girl that won t work, she talked to the gentleman in accounting and said they found a way to put it back on my card ASAP. It didn t happen. Called a few hours later, no manager available and he basically told me it isn t his problem. I can wait for the money. Called the corporate office and they told me that they can t do anything to help out and that it would need to go through hotel management. So now I m stuck without the funds to travel from Iowa to Texas. They aren t even willing to offer a free nights stay anywhere to get me thru until they fix my problem. If this was some sort of deposit I would be understanding, but the front desk girl admitted right away that she had made the error. Will never book with Sheraton again.

Restaurant is awful. Website said steak and seafood, but it's not. Took over an hour to get average bar food. $14 breakfast buffet that was no better than a country inn & suites. Very disappointed.

Hotel was average. Booked from priceline. Ate the overpriced breakfast at their restaurant..(12.00 for adults), drank carton of milk.. turned out was sour before exp date...got sick... Only one breakfast comped in a party of two. Paid the amount only to find out later my card was charged an extra 2.54 without my knowledge and approval..!. left tip on table... not sure why they had to steal from me. Drank sour milk (hurled up breakfast) still left a tip AND i was charged extra! Brought it to managements attention said wait a few days for charge.. BS answer/no resolution. They charge guests 10.00 a night for vehicle parking... no cameras in lot=no security for the price charged... what a gimmick!.

This was our first time staying at this hotel. We checked in and were given a double queen room. I went right away and asked about changing to a king room and was told that they don't move anyone around by one associate and that they are booked on kings and queens by another associate. The room had a bad odor. The breakfast is not included and we paid for the breakfast that morning and were charged more than our total. Finally, I just looked at my credit card statement and had a $20 charge. I called them and asked and they said that it is for 2 nights parking! They gave me a parking pass that I put on my rear view mirror and never said anything about parking fees! I'm pretty sure we're not going back there ever!

Newly renovated, which was nice to see. Will be my go to hotel in Des Moines now. Nice that the club lounge had 24 hour access, and all rooms are up to date on what your expect from a Sheraton.

How this place is currently getting four stars is ...

How this place is currently getting four stars is a mystery to me. I am a frequent business traveler and this is one of the worst hotels I have stayed in lately. It all started with having to fill out a guest card at the front desk, even though I am a Starwood Preferred member. Why? Then I get to ride the painfully slow elevator through floors of stained brown carpet to arrive at a matchbox size room. I thought, "At least it's a corner room." Ordered food delivery and it was held at the front desk. If I would have known that, I would have just went out. Watched TV until the rain knocked i t out. Tried to use internet with several hundred softball girls staying here. Yeah, no. Then the best part of the corner room is that there is an ice machine directly outside my door with a dozen assholes filling coolers at 5 a.m. If I could give negative stars I would. Thanks for staying!

Attended a professional event for the second time at this location. During both events the catering and service were excellent. On one occasion we did have difficulties with a microphone which was quickly resolved by the on call staff.

This place is a joke!! No refrigerator! No microwave! Dirty smudged drinking glasses! Hidden charges for parking! $10 a night. They charge your card after you leave for parking there. Disgusting towels, the breakfast buffet is $14 a person, the pool is awful! Wayyyyy too much chlorine and hair floating around. This hotel is 2 star at best. Save your money and find something else.
