Being the Sheraton i expected a lot better. I understand they are doing renovations but the carpet has liquid stains. They have NO directions to the pool from your room. My room key didn't work to open the pool gates.

Booked this hotel as a package on the Universal Studios site and it was wonderful! We arrived super early and we were immediately offered a room facing the highway. Normally, this might be not so desired. But we were tired and took it. And it was great! It backs up against a grove of tall trees and one side of the room has a long, balcony and all windows, it is like being in a treehouse. Nice, comfortable bed and well appointed room. Our main purpose was Universal, so be warned there are not many other dining options around and Citywalk is very pricy. You can literally walk to Universal Studios, though it might be too steep and hilly for some people. In that case, the other good option is the free shuttle that runs between the hotel and Universal, every 10-15min. Nice stay and would stay here again. Thanks Sheraton staff for being so friendly!
Lovely clean room. Two queen sized beds. House cleaning came everyday. No kettle, only a coffee maker, though you can still boil water in it for tea. The air conditioner was noisy and I could hear next doors going and up stairs sounded as if they were moving furniture around all night. So never a good nights sleep. However, the staff are helpful and the beds are soft and comfortable. Best hotel bed I've ever slept in. A complimentary shuttle takes you up the hill to Universal Studios theme park every 15 minutes. I gave it 3 stars as the room was way over priced for what you get.
This wAs the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. I m not sure where to start first off the elevators didn t work for the whole duration of my stay. Lugging heavy suitcases up stairs was not fun . Parking should be part of the booking your room $30 a day is ridiculous for the price of the room. The part where we stayed was dirty , needs a lot of updating the Rooms are very small there are no drawers to put your clothes in just a few hangers for hanging stuff. The bathroom no fans , the sliding door practically was coming off the hinges didn t close or open well. The beds/pillows were comfortable . The lighting in the rooms were terrible . You have one lamp for the whole room. The only benefit was shuttle service to universal studios.i will not be staying ever again
Major construction upon arrival, made for a dusty entrance. Our room however, had multiple broken items. I made every effort to let the front desk know about the damaged room and it was never resolved. First, the room key didn't work, the room phone was broken (I almost missed my cab because of it) and the bathtub didn't hold water. The management never responded. At the end of the it. My family, with two small children, ages 5 & 6. One child has autism and severe brain damage,. they were not able to get clean before we left. That's not okay. Wiping down my children with washcloths is how I would do it, if we were living off the land in the wild. Not how I like to spend my time on vacation at a 4ish star hotel. There was no bath mat available for them to have a safe shower and the tub was never repaired. The desk managers never did anything to fix it but we waited all day for them, because they said they would. My special needs child has to have a bath in order to stimulate his bowels in order for him to have a bowel movement, without one, he refuses to eat. Without food, the lead levels in his blood can begin to rise, due to lack of nutrition. It has happened once before. The situation can become tense, very quickly. The refrigerator was also broken and the nutritional smoothie, we brought from home, went bad in it, over night. I told the staff it was imperative that the tub be fixed due to my child's special needs. They told me that there were no rooms available for us at 3pm and then another staff member tried to sell me another room at 6pm. That was especially frustrating because I didn't need a room. We needed a tub for my small children to take a bath, as children do. Then, we heard them call up the cleaning staff to clean the room for the next guests, knowing there were 4 different broken items in the room. I brought the broken phone and the busted tub piece to the front desk so they wouldn't continue to forget that room 262 was not ready for guests. My children had school and therapy that they were already missing for our trip to Universal City. Our plans were ruined and at the end of the whole ordeal they threatened to call the police one for tresspassing. The threatened to call the cops on me even tho, I was waiting patiently in the lobby for hours, waiting for resolution. I was so mad I thought to call the police on them but I didn't want to make a spectacle in the lobby as they were in front of my 5 year old and guests alike. The entire thing was a mess. I have never seen such poorly run operation, in ally life. They sent up 3 different maintenance people on 3 separate occasions. My family was stuck in the room waiting for a response from the front desk. They kept calling the room even tho, I told them, the phone was broken. It was a nightmare. I have never been so disappointed with a hotel. For 300 dollars a night, I'd expect better. I've paid more and less for rooms and this was, by far, the worst hotel experience ever. I would never go back to this Sheraton. In fact, the entire thing has turned me off of all the Starwood affiliated hotels. The guests relations and customer service needs an overhaul. The Universal Sheraton should do better. They never even offered to pay the food tab that I ran up while we waited for service. They did nothing, I was polite and patient with them. I have given them a month the to respond BEFORE writing this. I have sent over 5 emails to the GM and coorporate only to have stock customer and auto emails replied. They in no way attempted to make anything better or to make me feel better by any type of understanding of the true nature of what happened. The fact that the Universal Sheraton has acted this way in regards to a family with a special needs child that could of ended up in the hospital due to their NEGLIGENCE is EGREGIOUS. It's shameful. I hated having to write this review, as I have just relived that ridiculousness, again. Horrible.
We stayed here because of the location close to Universal Studios. The staff was friendly and some of the amenities were nice. The hotel was expensive and everything was an add on. It appeared aged and that they are getting ready for a remodel. The one big gripe that I had (reason for 2 stars) was that they did not use a fitted sheet on either of our beds. Nobody wants to wake up directly on a dirty mattress
Made reservations for our family trip. They didnt have our reservation even after I showed email confirmation. Charged $100 for a family of 4 to eat breakfast at their "buffet". Food SUCKED!! You could go to McDonalds cheaper and better food! Rooms are old and dingy. Nasty carpet floors! Dont walk bare foot!!
What a terrible experience. Reserved a room with two king beds for 2 adult couples for my wifes birthday while we were going to universal studios fright night. They tried to put us in a room with a single twin bed even though it said 4 adults on the reservation. Ended up with two twin beds, Could not sleep in such a small bed. The room was $295.00 for the night. The window tinting was torn on the window in multiple places in the middle of the window. They wanted an additional $22.00 each for breakfast. It was a small room with nothing extra, reminded me of a motel 6 room. I have stayed at a lot of 4 and 5 star hotels all over the world. This place was a joke.
I'd never been to this hotel but I must say I was pleasantly surprised. We had our function in the starlight room which had a beautiful view. Only thing I could say was the ceiling looked like it was out of the 80s with the popcorn on it. The waiters were absolutely amazing and the kitchen staff prepared an excellent meal for then 150 people. Would reccomend a little remodel, but the experience was great! Kudos to your staff, they were too notch.
We were not happy with our room as it was too small and dated so front desk was generous enough to upgrade us to a modern suite! Suffice it to say we were very pleased with our new room =)! Thank you Sheraton Universal!
It is a pretty good hotel, it has very good rooms, and it has overall good quality! My one issue is that our room took longer than expected to get ready.. but over all a good hotel!
It's fancy, but some of the floors were under construction. Our room seemed unfinished and un-inspected, but we did check in early. My wife flooded the shower because the drainage grate had been installed backwards. The staff was super friendly and helpful though.
Great place to stay when visiting the parks. Great view great rooms great service. Highly recommend. Bring your friends bring your family bring your dog.
Staff was extremely friendly. Air conditioning in the room was not working when we arrived. Someone was sent to fix it promptly. Universal shuttle was very convenient. Parking was expensive.
Great for visiting universal studios. They shuttle you right to city walk. Restaurant buffet breakfast was good but dinner was not so only go for convenience. Bed was comfy and room was in good shape so they got that going for them too.
For the cost, I was pretty disappointed in the quality of this hotel. Our room was on the TP level which was equivalent to the basement. Our view consisted of a walkway and we could exit our room out the window should we so choose. Only one elevator was working this weekend and getting from floor to floor was often a 10-minute wait. Parking was a hefty $28 per night. No breakfast included. The worst part I think was the cleanliness of the entire hotel and room. Plenty of stains on the walls and carpets, although the sheets looked clean. Toilets were difficult to flush and water pressure on the shower was just so-so. Probably wouldn't stay here again.
Clean, nice but kind of sleepy hotel. The lobby music made this hotel feel like it belonged in the eighties with the painfully slow eighties music blasting. Our suite was lovely and contemporary though, with a pleasant view of the foothills and the highway. We were able to both walk and take an Uber to Universal Studios. The proximity to the park is hard to beat. The night prior to staying at the Sheraton, we'd stayed at a lively hotel in Beverly Hills. This Sheraton could use a little work on the atmosphere to feel a little more contemporary, starting with the music, maybe adding nice scents or candles. At night, the bar was pretty busy in the lobby. The membership rewards suite had decent food in the evening.
It looks very nice from the outside, has a shuttle that runs to the city walk ever 10 mins during the day. My only complaint, I stayed on the bottom floor where it was a dead zone for my phone. No prob, I have WiFi.. but that's was spotty as hell and I had to leave my room and go to the lobby to make calls.
1 of 3 elevators were working! Was told they were working on it, yet NO ONE was physically working on it!!! Freight elevators could be used, but that hindered the working staff as well. Some VERY rude guests there!!! Got free parking for my "trouble" with elevators. I was there Sunday to Wednesday, there wasn't ANYONE working on the elevators on those days!!! For the room rate, people should decide to take their business elsewhere!!!!! (In my opinion)! I will never return!!!
Fantastic customer service! We had a slight hiccup with cleanliness of our room and we had nothing but great things to say about the management staff as they made our stay completely magical! The hotel is shic and redone with fun Hollywood glitz and glamour touches!
I attended a two day work conference at the Sheraton in Universal and had a great experience. They catered every aspect to our company. The food we had was great and the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. My room was clean and felt comfortable.
Nicely renovated rooms and a good location in proximity to Universal Park and restaurants. Housekeeping was okay but not great but front desk staff was friendly and helpful. Lobby is also beautiful but restaurant is relatively pricey given other nearby options.
loved staying here very helpful staff short walk to universal studios also free bus shuttles, recommend the buffet breakfast to start your day rooms are serviced daily
Good, clean hotel. The walls are thin and you can hear your neighbors. The style of the plumbing and lighting is definitely Style over Function. Only a 10 minute walk to the front gate of Universal Studios.
Our room was over an hour late from check in time, the front desk clerk was rude when the room was ready, requiring several identity checks from my brother before i could get a key. Fora business based on customer service, they fell short big time, NOT RECOMMENDED!
This is a beautiful hotel with a great vibe. The decor, from the lobby to the halls to the rooms, is modern and sophisticated but still manages to feel warm and welcoming. Service is impeccable. We hosted a conference at the hotel and the food was creative and yummy, which is hard to pull off when feeding a crowd of 100.
Staff was friendly! Thank goodness they are renovating. The bthrm was stained and looked to be dirty. The beds were comfy, for hotel beds... Would definitely stay here again. They have a shuttle that runs every 12-15mins for the park. Very pleasant stay... keep your eyes open, you just might see a celeb or two...
The location was great for visiting Universal Studios and was close to where I was working for the week. But even though my room as newly renovated, the hotel is still undergoing renovation so I had issues several elevators being worked on throughout the week I stayed there. I even had to use the service elevators one day. I hope they finish soon.
Front desk assured us there was room for a twin air mattress in double queen room, not even close. Tiny rooms, paper thin walls, cigarette smoke inhallways. All bad enough but add the fact that everything is soon expensive. 35$ a person for a questionable continental breakfast.
Clean rooms, friendly staff and very accommodating. However, we had to go up to the 16th floor for ice. The first through the fifteenth were not working. No biggie, just a slight inconvience.
It was a good experience. Staff worked well. However, we were at a special event and some of the guests from the hotel showed up and were not immediately shown out by staff. The brial party had to ask them to leave. Other than that it was great!
Awesome room pick up at the Sheraton !! Super clean rooms comfy , There club lounge was delightful and great food and the service was off the chart including waters to go anytime to the park or outside Thank you Linda Lemar Erika Hope to see y all soon (:
The hotel is well kept and is very convenient to Universal Studios Hollywood. Every employee I interacted with was kind, helpful, and hospitable. The room is well laid out and the bed was extremely comfortable. The closet is on the small side with very limited drawer space. The water in the bathroom is either lukewarm or hot - never cool/cold. The wifi is really bad. It's very show and where you stand in the room can affect the signal. The gym is very well equipped. There are a lot of machines to use. The water machine was broken and there were no wipes to clean the machines when use was complete. The restaurant on the terrace level was very good. They have diverse offerings for every taste and the service was phenomenal. It was a bit pricey.
Lovely staff, great service, clean, my bed was very comfortable, and good air-conditioning throughout the hotel. Walking distance to Universal Studios and City Walk. Easy distance by car to shopping centres and other attractions.
