This is a must experience for everyone. This mosque is simply stunning. Tour takes between 1-2 hours depending on the amount of pictures you want to take. Lines are long but fast during the busy times. Try to go early morning or afternoon to avoid the heat.

A very beautiful mosque. It is also known as the world's beautiful and big mosque. It is very big.Its colour is white and the shields are made up of pure gold. The tradition here is you need to cover yourself from top to bottom like wear full gown.Means the ladies should cover their entire body when you enter into the mosque. The sheikhs there also be in the same dress code.Whoever goes there must cover themselves so that only their face is shown. Amazing place. The architecture, the interior decoration, the grandiosity... Also very organized and the best thing is it's free! They just opened a mall in the visitor entrance area where many restaurants are available (even McDonald's!) and a money changer in the near future. Not all shops are opened at the time of visit.

Very good architecture and very beautiful place. Love the chandeliers and it has world's largest carpet made by people of Iran. Its entrance is from underground passage then using escalators one would reach the mosque.
The rules for dress code are most important for them. Men should have full covered legs and full covers sleeves. Half sleeves can be considered but for men only. Ladies must have their head covered with full sleeves dress and full sleeves leg dress.
Remember that the way you enter the mosque is the only for exit.

This mosque is a must visit in Abu Dhabi. I had a 10 hours stopover and I took a transit visa to visit this mosque. This mosque is grand and beautiful. Women need to wear a Abaya to visit. The abaya is available from the mosque. There is a free ticket that you need to collect from the main office. There is a beautiful mall in the basement. The basement is also the entrance to the mall. One has to walk a bit inside the mosque but the architecture is worth the walk. Free guided tours are also available.

This is an elegant and grand structure in Abu Dhabi. The place attracts the religious for it's spiritual significance and the lay visitor for it's grand and calm beauty. Though it is a functional mosque, tourists are allowed to visit certain areas. If you are in UAE, this is a must visit spot.
There is free parking available but one has to pay for covered parking space. Entry is restricted based on prayer timings. On Fridays non-worshippers are allowed only after 2.30 pm.
There is strict security checking at the entrance. Food items are not allowed inside. Women have to cover their hands and hair. You will be provided abayas at the entrance free of cost. One has to remove footwear before stepping inside. However photography is permitted inside.
The mosque has beautiful tiles and aesthetically pleasing structures and design. There are beautiful pools right at the front of the mosque. Inside there is a water fountain that provides cooled drinking water. There are cool and peaceful open areas with marbled floor. Some areas may be accessible only for worshippers.

This mosque was beyond beautiful! It was extremely clean and everything was so white. Be prepared to go through two rounds of security - one to make sure your properly dressed and the other to check your bags. We were here on a tour and I was provided the appropriate attire and head scarf. In order to walk in certain areas you do need to take your shoes off, but I promise all this was worth it. We happened to be there for the noon call to prayer which was special to witness. Definitely have to stop here if you are in Abu Dhabi or Dubai - it s just a short drive away.

Obviously, due to the enormous interest of the public and tourists, access to Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque has been heavily restricted. While previously, one could just walk in straight (given appropriate clothing), now a complex ticketing process has been implemented off site, which requires patience and a lot of walking. Furthermore, visitors can't go into the prayer hall any longer, but need to take a glimpse from the sidelines. The mosque is still beautiful in all its architectural glory, however, the process has turned it into quite an exercise.

The beauty of this wonderful marvel cannot be described in written.
I doubt whether if there's any language, any medium of communication which can help me to describe the beauty of this place.
The sunny weather, the green flora , the stunning white colored marble, the melodious Azaan , the rich architecture make this place a must visit in UAE.

Amazing and super well organized. Try to dress appropriately and bring your own covers so you don't waste time picking it up from the basement and needing to give an ID. If it wasn't so new this would rival the taj Mahal

Although very busy at the time of my visit the mosque still retains an air of peace and tranquillity.

The scale of the mosque is impressive and is kept impeccably clean.

It is important that visitors dress appropriately and there is an airport style security system to get into the mosque.

Was there during Ashar prayer, but while the main hall was being offered for tourist attraction, the prayer was done on the side hall, which is not much better than some of the big malls prayer place. So sad the mosque has turned out to be more of an attraction than an actual mosque.

Capacity to accommodate 40,000 worshippers.
Non-muslims are also allowed to take tour for free. All you have to do is wear modest clothes or you can rent an abaya too at the entrance.
Definitely worth a visit! Such a beautiful mosque/architecture shouldnt be missed by any potential tourist s eye.

Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque is one of the most beautiful mosques in the world after the holly mosques, everything is wonderful, clean and architecturally amazing, presence of area for men and women is an advantage. i am in love with beautiful white marble (with inlaid floral design), the largest carpet in the world, stunning chandeliers, beautiful water pools, 82 domes, exquisite design and yet peaceful & worthy of prayer. Best Trip of UAE.

Breathtakingly beautiful and just absolutely massive. You need to dress appropriately and there are signs around showing you what should be worn. Men and women can't walk in together but you can meet up once your're inside and it's just as spectacular on the inside as it is on the outside. It was quite busy when we went so expect to queue for a little while but it's definitely worth the wait. We actually got dropped off by the taxi at the back of the Mosque so had to walk all the way around the front which too about 20 minutes so make sure you ask for the front entrance.

It's not really worth it. Long way walking and wearing stupid dress to be allowed to enter. I had special long dress and scarf. But my sleeves were 3/4 and that's not allowed! Ridiculous! And after reaching the mosque at last, you can stand from two different directions in de door opening to look inside. That's all!!!!

The Grand Mosque is an intricate contemporary masterpiece. Every square inch of the mosque has been designed with intention and fits into the overall grand theme of the mosque.

Symmetry is an essential component of the mosque and you'll find geometric patterns abound. The intricate marble and glasswork will leave you amazed and the 5 storey chandelier exuding thousands of colors is a sight to behold.

What mesmerized me was the Qibla wall with fiber optics inlaid into the wall to create a mystic and serene effect which I've never seen in my life.

The mosque transcends during the night with it's mellow gray and blue lighting which is lock step with the phases of the moon.

There are so many facets of the mosque like the longest carpet in the world, the columns designed as palm trees and inlaid with precious stones, the domes and the serene marble that words don't do justice to the beauty of the mosque.

Definitely a must visit in Abu Dhabi.

We just visited the grand mosque for the second time and loved it again. This time, we visited the lower level, just outside of the mosque, and they have opened shops, cafes and restaurants. Very clever!!! We enjoyed our time there even more. Highly recommended.

Beautiful place you must visit if stopping by Abu Dhabi. They provide avayas (proper dressing) for women. We visited during the month of July, very hot, but it was worthy. Get your camera ready for breath taking pictures.
