Great mosque, but lot of Touris, daily 10 to 10, beware of the dress code! Best in the mornings or evenings

A must see for visitors to the area, they have a very strict dress code, it is important to adhere to it.

One runs out of superlatives when describing this magnificent place. Their library should be expanded and include archival and rare books collection. It should be a world class facility for anyone wishing to conduct research on various aspects of Islamic arts, intellectual traditions and science. Tour guides really should step up and improve their knowledge base and/or presentation skills. They know almost nothing other than useless trivia and have little to no grasp of the Principles of Architectural Design behind this awesome complex. Overall, visiting this series of building complexes including fountains, gardens and ancillary structures takes us back to Granada in 14 Century Iberian Peninsula. it is almost a mythical experience.

We had a wonderful tour with guide Ms. Hessa, she is a very good in her job (product knowledge is in high level) we got to know more about Great Mosque!!! I really recommend to do the tour of the Mosque with local guide.

go there in the afternoon at around 5pm - you'd be able to see the architecture in 3 different lights: day, sunset and night lights. There's a 6pm free tour that is worth getting on - gives you access to the interiors that is otherwise not open to public.

This is one of the biggest mosques in the whole of Arabia and Asia and it is an architectural marvel.. The magnificent pillars are encased in gold, lapis lazuli and other precious gemstones ...they bear the mark of fine craftsmanship and have pietra dura inlay work...the main prayer hall of Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque has a gigantic chandelier made of millions of Swarovski crystals and precious gems...it has its pride of place in the history of chandeliers and is the biggest chandelier in the whole of Arabia and Asia.
The serene, peaceful ambience of the mosque is a balm to the soul...overwhelmed by the simplicity and the grandeur...it is a must visit if you have landed on the Emirate.. entrance is free..cultural tours are conducted frequently and these too are free of charge.
Artisans from far and wide were brought to build this mosque... The chandeliers were made in Germany...the design and architecture is an amalgamation of North Indian, Persian, Moroccan, Emirati and other architectural styles.

Tourists must respect the rules here since it's a really important place for (all) Muslims. The dress code must be followed and security guards will kindly see to it that you deleted photos taken inappropriately. (ex: photo subjects sitting on the ground, or hand-in-hand for couples.) Anyway just follow the rules and everyone can enjoy this sacred place.

Incredible work with marbles and this place is amazing if you went there and come without NAMAZ, you have missed a golden chance and inner view was amazing at the entry place they take most of personal uses things but while exit they returned and foe ladies they given special dress to wear we called it BHURKA OR NAKAB.

The place is so peaceful. It is very each to reach from Abu Dhabi and dubai. The tour given inside the mosque by their staff is a must.

The mosque does not have any entry fee. For women it's best to wear full clothes or else they provide you a cloth to wear on top.

Beautiful place to visit. The architecture is amazing. Men have to wear pants and women have to wear a head scarf and loose bottoms so no tight pants but loose pants or a long skirt are okay. If you show up and don't have them, they offer something for you to wear.

Enormous! But also an architectural marvel, so worth the visit. Visiting and parking are both free, but expect a lot of walking. (There are free golf cart taxis). Be sure to look at the world's largest carpet and the world's largest chandelier. No shorts allowed!!!

Beautiful, calm and quiet environment. A must watch place in Abu Dhabi.

Grand Zayed Mosque is very magnificent white mosque. This makes me remember the Wat Rung Kong white temple at Chengrai. There are tight rules and regulation on the clothing for men and women. For women, exposed, tight and sexy clothing are not allowed. The head scarf should be put up to cover the hair. Many security guards are standing along the walking paths including at the hall to keep the vigilance on the visitors. While taking pictures, you are refrained from overly exaggerated gestures to show respect to the culture. The chandeliers at the main hall would project out the classy and opulent looks of the hall. The marble slabs on floor and wall with engraved flowers and Islamic words will add visual impact to the elegance of the mosque.

A heaven for Photographers. The architectural marvels of this mosque is unparalleled. Now with the increase of security you may reach the place a little bit early of scheduled time. Good time for visiting is 5 PM to 8 PM.
