The Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque is one the world s largest mosques and a massive architectural work of art that intentionally blends different Islamic architectural schools. It features 82 domes, more than 1,000 columns, 24-carat-gold gilded chandeliers and the world's largest hand-knotted carpet. The main prayer hall is dominated by one of the world s largest chandeliers.

The late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan built this mosque to convey historic consequence and to embody the Islamic message of peace, tolerance and diversity. He intended that the Grand Mosque be a living reference of modern Islamic architecture that links the past with the present and creates a place of Islamic science and learning that would reflect genuine Islamic values.

Designs and architecture on the walls were awesome. once we enter it gives a very pleasant feel about the atmosphere, Highly secured place for tourist and guides are not necessary as we can enter into the mosque directly, There is no entrance fee its free of charge.

It's just a massive white monolith made up of superlatives while being completely devoid of character and charm. Qasr al Watan is a much better bet to visit.

This is one of the famous tourist attraction in Abu Dhabi. This mousqe is too big to capture it in a single picture. This is mosque is very beautiful from inside as well as from the outside. The interior design is the best what you can find here. Before going here you should be in formal clothes. Shorts etc are not allowed.

The peace, decorum, cleanliness & overall management of this holy place is examplary. The management personnel are very much courteous and friendly.

An awesome place to visit even for non Muslims. Named after H. H. Sheikh Zayed, every bit of this place is a work of art. The intricate carvings, ornate details and fabulous architecture will entice the visitors. Everything here is so clean and well maintained that even you can't see a spec of dirt. The huge carpet inside the main hall is renowned world wide, woven to perfection. Serene atmosphere will certainly evoke spirituality.

Beautiful Mosque. I visited it at night and the lighting makes it glow. Females are given robes to wear that cover your head and arms. Amazing place to walk around and take in the detail of the artwork and detail put in to this building.

Shaikh Zayed Grand Mosque is just absolutely stunning! I've never been to the Taj Mahal but I'm sure this place is just as awesome if not better. If you wish to really enjoy the beauty of the Grand Mosque, try and visit during early morning or mid-afternoon, certainly not on a Friday when it will be swarming with tourists.

Amazing, breathtaking, masterpiece! At the time of my visit I was at the end of my pregnancy and walking on the grounds of the mosque was a bit though, having on mind it was end of June. However, there is an option to borrow a wheelchair. Be prepared for an airport - like check at the entrance of the visitor center, however it all went very quickly and hassle free. At the same check in point you can borrow an abaya for the ladies and a long dress for the guys in case they are wearing shorts. Big bags should be left in there and collected afterwards. The mosque is huge and since each and every corner is hiding a new and even more beautiful view, it takes some time (easily about 2h) to go through it. The crowds are all the time present and the heat hasn't scared them away. Check out the carpet of the mosque - the world's largest carpet! The chandeliers are German and all are stunning. Even if you're visiting just Dubai and you are time-restricted, make sure to put aside half a day so you can explore this unique place.

I love to come here and i was so amaze to saw the carpet, its only one piece no cutting no extensions.

Magical in the twilight. Dusk turns to night and the mosque is softly lit in blue. Inside the decorations celebrate nature in many colours stone and marble. The archways create aesthetic repetitions against the dark of night. Most certainly worth a visit.

This is a work of art and absolute must visit in UAE. Take time and visit this place to experience sheer peace and bliss. The rulers have truly taken massive efforts to spend money wisely in this brilliant attraction which does not have charges to enter being a place of worship. Highlights are the massive chandeliers and huge carpeted hall inside which will promises to take the breadth away of most visitors.

You have to visit to experience the grandeur of this place. Do make sure to take some nighttime pictures as well.

Beautiful and peaceful. Despite the big crowd ...loved the vibrations and calmness here. The tour is very well planned. The free parking is connected to the mosque thorough a underground walkway. Sunset from here is amazing.

Sheikh Zayed Grand mosque is a wonderful monument.A must visit for the architecture and the huge domes and two huge beautiful chandiliers in the main prayer hall and handwoven floor carpet.Ladies have to cover from Top to Toe properly and men have to wear full pants.

The mosque has a really peaceful ambiance, beautiful place. The most tranquil place you can visit during the UAE trip, probably. The architecture of the place is unique, it features intricate designs. Inside of it, there s a magnificent carpet which is meticulously knotted, splendid chandeliers. We visited the place in the evening, the illumination of the place makes it more picturesque.

It should be name one of the wonders and very adapted and acoomodating for someone who cannot walk long distances

This was my first time visiting a mosque and it was absolutely spectacular. Motifs decorate the entire space inside and it was just beautiful. Women have to be covered up but the garments are free to rent.

The name itself has the ambience of the mosque, you can experience such a grand and luxury of the architecture in the mosque, Especially the engraving flower pattern in the floor & wall And the harmony of the columns that is reflecting in the waters. One of the best mosques around the world. People across religions are welcome to visit. One of the archaeological wonders. Amazingly good managed, given the volumes of people visit during the holidays. Ample parking places. No charges. absolutely free to visit. The architectural design is second to none, beautiful white marble. It's the 3rd world largest mosque and can accommodate over 41,000 people praying at the same time. It's an awesome tourist attraction and the activities of tourist in the mosque are well planned and monitored. Ladies are given dresses that will ensure they have their body and hair fully covered before entering the mosque.

We turned up in time for a free guide which took about 45 minutes and was absolutely worth doing. We got to look all around the mosque and inside which was spectacular.

Absolutely amazing structure. A must visit place in Abu Dhabi. Very beautiful. Friendly staff. Best to carry a photo ID with you when visiting the mosque. This will help you in getting the voice guide machine. You will need to deposit the ID and get it back when you return the equipment.
