Excellent architectural mosque with so many features.
Superb atmosphere and wonderfully maintained mosque
A splendid mosque situated at the entrance to Abu Dhabi city island distinctly visible from the three bridges that connect the island to the main land. The mosque is the burial place of the late Sheikh Zayed, the father of the Nation.
The mosque has many special and unique elements such the world's largest hand-knotted carpet, the world's 3rd largest chandelier weighing 12 tons and has over 40kg of 24c gold and the largest marble mosaic example in the world.
The lightning effect at night reflects the different phases of the moon.
The mosque's architecture fuses the wide and diverse Islamic work including the Mamluk, Ottoman, Fatimid, Andalusian, Moroccan styles which reflects the spirit of Abu Dhabi, the Capital of the UAE, as a melting point of civilisations.
The mosque minaret houses a library that has over 7000 books.
The visitor centre offers a variety of restaurants, cafes and souvenir shops.
Opposite to the mosque is Wahat Al Karama and the Ritz Carlton Hotel.
This place is exquisitely built and detailed and quite breathtaking to visit. The best time is around sunset and I would strongly recommend taking a guided cultural tour (10:00, 11:00 and 17:00). The level of detail and care that has gone into the design is astounding and there is an air of peacefulness here, even when moderately busy. This is a place that should not be missed by any visitor to Abu Dhabi.
Beautiful mosque, everything new but authentic and traditional, afternoon trip is advisable during the summer season because of the climate and sunset(perfect photo's). Visitors have to get the entry ticket from the counter which is near to the parking area.
Very beautiful. Didnt take the tour but would suggest doing so or reading up online as there isn't information in the mosaue itself. Unless you are covered from head to toe (with head scarf), you will need to use their Abayas (free) at the mosque.
As its Religious Place. Beside that great Architeture
Beautiful Creation
Stunning center peice in middle of modernized Abu Dhabi
Magnificent, this is to be seen at least once in a lifetime if possible. The masjid is like it is drawn out of your imagination
One place nobody should miss visiting at least once while in Abudhabi
This mosque is splendid and magnificent. I must see.
Come with time to catch a guided visit, get the guide one you see more and go inside.
Be ready to walk a lot.
Great and beautiful mosque. I had heard a lot about it, but it is something beyond description. I have visited many mosques in many countries but this mosque is an outstanding model of modrn artitecture mixed with traditional Islamic cheracters. UAE has made tremendous advancements since I left Abu Dhabi in 1979, I hope and pray that UAE will continue to florish.
Place of peace, place of culture, place of architecture
Masha Allah... Amazing architecture. .. full of white marbles with beautiful floral designs..
One of the best and beautiful place to visit... The call for prayer (Azaan), the interiors.... Amazing and breath taking....
The Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque (Arabic: , romanized: J mi Ash-Shaykh Z yid Al-Kab r) is located in Abu Dhabi, the capital city of the United Arab Emirates.[2] The largest mosque in the country, it is the key place of worship for daily, Friday and Eid prayers. During Eid, it may be visited by more than 41,000 people.[2]
Sheikh Zayed Grand mosque
Beautiful Mosque. Must visit for tourist and residents alike...but not the place if yu just want to stop for prayers though...have to go around a lot just to make it to the prayer hall.
It s beautiful Mosque. My spouse is from India, she thinks it s as pretty as Taj Mahal.
We took a free shuttle from the airport that took us to Masjid in 20 minutes. It runs every hour and picked us on our way back as well.
Visiting hours ends at 10pm. Masjid provides Veil to Women visitors for free to accommodate dress code and they also have a luggage check in service. Men are fine in long shorts and T-shirts. There are plenty of designated spots to take photos and Visitors are also allowed take photos anywhere they like.
To say that The grand mosque is a beautiful building is an understatement. It is a marvel in marble, a structure so impressive that one day it will be considered at par with the Taj Mahal. It should be a must visit for anyone going to Abu Dhabi. The arrangements for visitors, the lighting, the architecture and the sheer grandeur is breathtaking..
MUST VISIT ONCE. Amazing place for a long drive. Free entry. Best time to be there by 5 so that you could have both views, day and night. Plan your trip accordingly.
Magnificent. Worth a visit. The scale of the entire structure is truly amazing and the ambience is extremely peaceful.
P.S. make sure you buy the tickets at the entrance so you don't have to walk all the way back.
Photograph just can not show how beautiful the grand mosque is ,the feeling of tranquility and peace is overwhelming. Very large and beautiful architecture. I just hope they do not try to commercialize the experience. Very well maintained and wc and abolition area under ground.
Impressive, this is a must-visit...and, at sunset...WOW!
It is literally the Grand Mosque. The ambience is really great. Best to go in the evening during off peak season for a peaceful visit.
Most beautiful modern marvel. Must visit for everyone. Piece of art here is amazing. Also enjoy the cool drinking water here. Great experience
Asha's restaurant is the one of the best Indian authentic restaurant in the UAE
Dont skip to visit this place when you are in UAE, eye catching work done in the interiors and exteriors. Must visit.
Great highlight of our trip. Fabulous at sunset but gets crowded
So amazing and very beautiful view of this Grand Mosque ...
I love this place... I have been visiting the Mosque since 2014 and when I went there 2 weeks ago I was really disappointed to see the main yard was sort of "under construction". The entrance IN the mosque itself was limited to just that - the entrance door where u peek and move forward, compared to prevous years when we could enter inside, feel the marvelousness of the building inner space and the carpet which is an art piece. I am not a muslim but I always felt in peace when I used to visit the mosque. This year was nothing like it - we were like a pack of sheep guided within some red lines. I hope these things get fixed :(((
I don't have any words to write the experience in Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque Center In Abudhabi. But I can tell you one thing, if you got a chance to visit Abudhabi in life, you must visit here atleast once. Some views looks like Thajmahal , Agra, India.
I used to love visiting this building, but they have turned it into a Disney experience, with controlled queuing throughout. This has had the effect of transforming what used to be a free-roaming, breathtaking visit to a stunningly lavish building, into a boring shuffle through a tunnel and around a roped-off area. If you are a tourist to Abu Dhabi, avoid this, and go for a good lunch to somewhere like Zuma instead.
Do not miss this religious site! It is beautiful inside and out and incredibly interesting. I d never really been inside a mosque before. It is important to dress conservatively. Headscarfs and gowns are provided to women.
Just one line for this visit.
The ARCHITECT at its best.
Marvelous construction of white marble with a beautiful architectural design. Each and every part has a specialty and lot of features, every part says lot of stories behind it. Even the boundary wall is so special with metallic and glass combinations merged in wall. Lots of landscaping features are arranged to amaze the visitors. Very special blue colour stone is merged with white marbles in almost all pillars makes a perfect blend and comfort of eyes. Even from the carpets to Chandlers are very special. Worth seeing the enormous bueaty in daylight, sunset and with artificial lights. Below picture taken near to sunset time.
There couldn't be any mosque more beautiful than this one. No words to describe its beauty. Absolutely flawless and well maintained. 5/5
Withness the beauty and grandness of Abu Dhabi here at Grand Mosque which is one of a life time experience showcasing the Persian architectural and landscaping craft and expertise to the world. A true masterpiece leaving the visitors astonished by the simplicity and uniqueness of heritage beholded by the emirati culture.
An absolutely stunning experience! The highlight of any trip to Abu Dhabi - a modern wonder.
It is a very beautiful mosque, took 11 years to build, it's a must visit if your in Dubai and Abu Dhabi is a 1 hour 30 min drive.
Excellent architecture ,pure white marble built mosque, with biggest and beautiful chandeliers and rug.Strict dress adherence to be done. There is a free tour at 5pm
Masya Allah! Wonderful, great architecture, and beautiful view! If you visit this place in the evening/night, you'll see the dazzling mosque with floral ornament. For ladies, don't forget to wear hijab & abaya in here!
This is the most magnificient and stunning mosque I have ever seen. Very sophisticated architecture! You must be covered in a long dress from top to toe before paying a visit inside the mosque

Really pretty
This place is amazing and I am blessed to visit such beautiful place. The Beauty of this place is beyond words. Can't describe in words!
Very beautiful indeed. Stay respectful and it's a lovely visit.
Please be aware that if you don't come dressed appropriately, you WILL be turned away by the officials at the ticket entrance. Men, no shorts, knees must be covered. Women, ankles must be covered, and sleeves should cover wrists. Head covering for women also required. However, there is appropriate cover gowns available for hire from the Mosque if you ask. One member of our tour party had a strop and turned and walked off before she could be told where to get the gowns, so stay calm and ask. Mind you, despite being given appropriate dress code advice before we left our cruise ship, she had turned up in a knee length sleeveless dress. We are guests in their country, it's only polite to follow dress codes.
It is an awesome place. Has a very peaceful and clean environment.
The mosque is amazing, they offer free cultural tours that should definitely be taken as they provide all the information needed!
Very quiet and beautiful mosque. Good for a visit with family but remember to hide hair for females. They are very strict about rules
The biggest mosque in UAE. A beautiful place, excellently maintained and open to all religions. Easy access and a must see if you come to UAE / Abudhabi. Typically a normak visitor can spend at least an hour here.
No words are enough to praise this Grand mosque. There's "Grand" in it's name for a good reason. I will suggest to go at around 5 pm and then wait there until it's dark, that way you can get to see it in sunlight as well as in the dark with the blue spotlights on. Don't forget to add it to your must visit places.
Great land mark to visit and take pictures
They will provide visitors with long clothes to wear
Some facts:
The complex covers an area of 22,412 m2
33,000 tons of steel and 250,000 m3 of concrete were used. They lay on 6,500 foundation piles

A total of 82 domes belong to the mosque
The main dome is the largest mosque dome in the world: 85 metres high with a diameter of 32.8 metres.

Karim Ramadan !
i think you dont need a description for this mosque , one of the most visited place in the whole world, truly an architectural marvel
Very impressive and also beautiful mosque. I would recommend visiting the mosque at night for the light effects are stunning. The place is immaculate all white marble.
