Good value, excellent breakfast and easily located near the town

The rooms were in need of redecorating. Could do with a new bathroom suite. Comfy beds good price

A good basic hotel. Clean room, comfy bed and decent bathroom with a bath. Only gripe was the TV, which is too small.

Clean and well maintained. One of the lifts was out of order but I always take the stairs anyway #NEATUp247

Old, tired, worn out furniture

Asked if a car park was available via phone, been answered positively only to get there and find out the car park is external and have to pay
Bedroom window is loose and does not shut

2 stars only because it's relatively cheap

No AC.
Was told to turn off the radiators, open windows and even open the door to the king room that we paid extra for.
The bathroom radiators are always on with no control on how to turn it off.
This fan in the picture is a foot away from me and it's blowing hot air.
Save yourself a trip to hell.

Reasonable budget hotel. Rooms clean and up to date, bar ok and staff friendly and helpful.

Staff are fantastic, very friendly, helpful and understanding. The breakfast food and eating area is also fantastic. However the hotel itself, the stairwells, the lifts and the rooms are very rundown, dirty and it just needs a lot of money put into renovating and redecorating.

Hotel is shabby, carpets all over were dirty. Hotel is in desperate need of a makeover. Rooms appeared clean and didn't smell but upon closer inspection were dusty and a bit grimy. The only room that resembled the photos on their website (which were taken a long, long time ago) was the bar/dining room. The only saving grace was that the breakfast was lovely and a great selection and well worth the money and the staff were pleasant .Good location to the city centre but overpriced due to the comments above.

Room was clean, paintwork scratched, cupboard door hanging off. No remote control in room 15 year old decor. The area the metropolitan hotel is in was very run down. Parking fee was not mentioned on website when booking. Was cheap.

Worst experience, told me they didn't have the room I already paid for, and refused to cancel for me less than a day before I would arrive. Stuck without a place to stay and without my money

We stayed for 3 nights and i really cant fault the hotel at all.
The room was great clean and tidy bathroom clean. The maids (cleaners) do a great job.
Best of what i liked it for was my dad had a fall in the restaurant for breakfast. The bar and food manager ( tall guy with glasses ) he was there within a second to help us.
Very friendly staff and a great hotel.

Generally a good place to stay for short term. Staff is quite friendly and helpful. They helped me even with print outs and scanning papers when needed. Good breakfast options.

Well it's a bit run down ready for up grades I think... I'm here now and it's very noisy here on 6th floor people banging doors is horrendous it's midnight, can't they close them quietly...... on up side staff are very friendly beds clean and comfy just need to get some sleep....

Spot on for the money, although we booked through a third party rather than direct with the hotel. Bit of a faff to get into the carpark and it isn't the prettiest building from the outside, but the rooms were clean and well kept. Slippers and breakfast all included... Didn't bother with the slippers personally, but the breakfast was nice. The bat closed a little early for my likely, but I think that says more about me than the hotel! All in all, a very reasonable hotel at a very reasonable price.

The Room was clean and cozy, only the breakfast is a bit too factory.

Stayed in a recently refreshed room with plenty of space and comfortable beds. Tea facilities on hand and everything you need bathroom wise. There was a mishap with the rates quoted when I booked online and they tried asking for more on arrival, but this was very quickly resolved. Simple self serve breakfast available, hot and cold food, and this went down nicely as well!

The room was exceptional, even had ITV 2, the small woman was kinda scary though we found her hiding in the bathroom at 2am asking if we needed room service she was polite though. Would come again as long as the woman is included!

I've been here 10 minutes and there is dust and cobwebs everywhere, the toilet doesn't flush and the towels are ok if you are 3 foot tall. I have stayed in plenty of budget hotels and I have never experienced anything like this.

Inside looks very cosy and simple. It's not overwhelming or makes you feel like this is the over the budget place. Staff is friendly and welcoming.

Room was nice and spacious but parking was very confusing. Unsure which var park to use and how to get to it from the hotel. Bathroom could also be improved. Otherwise ok.

Room hadn't been hoovered. Water didn't drain down sink. Main light didn't work. Water was luke warm in the morning for shower

Room was not clean on arrival, bathroom was extremely cold and everything was old and worn. Breakfast was decent.

Stayed for 5 nights with a group of 48. Very friendly welcome efficient check in and rooms clean, spacious and beds comfortable. Food good and plenty of choice on breakfast buffet. Staff replenished items quickly. All staff very helpful and friendly can't fault it and would recommend this hotel to friends.

Receptionist was delightful, she recognised I was late for my appointment, she made up a parking permit & got me there on time. Thankyou! The rooms were great, clean, however there seemed to be nobody aware of the youth club on level 4, who proceeded to smoke cannabis throughout the evening upon my return. Maybe get security to patrol once an hour?!

Friendly staff, comfy beds, lovely pillows. Downside that none of the plugs worked. Didn't realise this until the morning when I plugged the kettle in!!! Would stay again though

Great services for good value. Room was clean and comfortable.Bathroom within standards all clean and with fresh towels. Staff superb. Receptionist lady Bitissam was absolutely great. We arrived on busy hour but she managed all well without long waiting. Also very helpful with our questions and tips iabout the area. Many thanks

Lovely stay room was clean just the travel cot could do with being upgraded as it was quite grubby and a shame only one lift was working as it took a long time to get down the stairs

Really good stay. Refurbished room. Comfy massive bed. Clean room. What more do you need? Bar was inexpensive too which was a bonus!

Beds falling apart, Windows broken, uncomfortable stay

Hotter than the surface of the sun. Couldn't do anything about it and the fan didn't help. Advised by the reception to leave the door open into the corridor, hardly romantic. Breakfast was amazing though, and your man in the bar did give me a massive ice bucket.

Good for the price, tidy and clean. They don't have too many parking spaces though.

Hotel is perfectly adequate and affordable. Seems a lot of young people come here to stay after a night out, but I had no disturbances even at night. Only weird thing was that the kitchen had thrown away all the food before 9, possibly because the restaurant was empty. Fridnly staff still rustle something up for us though. Not luxury, but perfectly good for what we paid.

Overall very good. Room was very hot but seems most hotels are. Front desk person was helpful. Lifts were in good condition. Room was a bit dated and some of lights didn't work. Bathroom was clean and shower curtain was not moody. Plenty of towels in the room. Bed was comfy.

Really nice place to stay only problem is the walls are of it to thin but the cleaners do a really good job of cleaning up the bedrooms and the breakfast is absolutely delicious in the morning

Nice rooms, my friend was getting married so we got ready at the hotel. All of the staff were very helpful and kind.

Greeted on the first day by three employees smoking at the front door, they didn t move for us even though we were weighed down with bags, had to walk through the smoke to enter the hotel.<br/>One lift was broken,<br/>Got to room, no air con just a fan wasn t effective on the hot evening.WiFi kept dropping out and tv was loose on the desk with no stand and kept losing signal.. Location is good, bed was comfortable but The hotel was a disgrace, especially for a best western

I booked a room for business purposes 8 hours in advance via booking.com, I got confirmation from the hotel so I went almost 300 miles on the spot, it turned out that they cannot accommodate me, there was a mistake and I have to wait for info from booking.com. So from 9:00 am I waited until midnight and only got a link proposing to book another hotel in the area, 3 weeks have passed since then and there is still no refund.

Good price, would be a 5 as is you get what you expect for the price, but there is some variability between the standards of the same priced rooms

Good value for money. It was not as luxurious or has as many amenities as the other hotels in the area but it didn't have to be. The room was spotlessly clean, the bed was comfortable, and the staff was very nice. Only downside to my stay was that I was stuck on the same floor as a horde of loud people taking up the rest of the rooms, but the hotel cannot be faulted for that.

The room was comfortable and it had everything I needed, like a hairdryer, soap, shampoo and shower gel. I would happily stay there again.

So friendly and helpful when we needed extra lighting. Morning checkout guy was very nice to us local man who was knowledgeable. Good place to stay
