I do not normally get on to do reviews, but I wanted to give Middleton Cove a 5 star review, as I do not understand all the bad reviews that have been given here lately.

This place is great. The grounds are always being cleaned, it is quite, the higher priced apartments are renovated with granite counter tops and new kitchen and bathroom cabinets. The staff are very polite and well mannered always willing to help with anything you need.

The marsh view is beautiful and the picnic area is lovely to sit at and just relax.

I would recommend this place to anyone.

I have known people that have lived here for years and would not move anywhere else.

Close to everything, large sq footage for price, well maintained, upgraded units are nice, dog friendly, great marsh views, friendly staff. Only reason a 4 and not a 5 is the parking lots flood very easily and the ammenties could using some upgrading.

I lived there for 2 years. At first glance it seems like a good place until you see all the corners they cut. The staff act like they're your best friend until you move in; then, you're just a paycheck. They raised the rent twice making their location way less competitive. Price was their main advantage, but you get what you paid for. Avoid the property manager at all costs. Oh, and good luck with the laundry situation. There's always two broken washing machines and unlabeled broken dryers that still accept change.

Worst apartments anywhere! Thelma is the rudest meanest manager I've ever seen. The entire staff is incompetent and lazy. They will enter your apartment without telling you! They cant even fix a leaky toilet. Nothing is maintained properly, and no one cares. Nobody does they're job and they're not held accountable. Every one I know here is moving out when they're lease is up. Just read the other reviews. They'll probably right some response to this review apologizing for my bad experience and talk about how rare it is to hear that. Do yourself a favor and dont even think about living here.

I had a very bad experience here. The staffs here are disrespectful and rude. They don't treat you like a customer. They humiliate and treat you like a slave. I have never come across such creatures in my entire life. They are so inhuman. Stay away from this place!

I moved in in December and couldn't be happier. Office ladies are very pleasant. The view is beautiful, laundry is cheap, landscaping is nice, pools clean and the neighbors nice as well. Everyone really seems to respect each other and the maintenance is VERY efficient! I have called them twice and they were there within 24 hours and fixed it.

Bathroom in main clubhouse dirty, broken, run down. Buildings looked run down. Cars being broken into. Stinky putrid smell from refinery.

Rude staff. Locked us out of the office from the pool side because my kids and I would ruin the new carpet said we would have to go around and wait out front for water.

They close the pools down once a week for cleaning. POOLS SHOULD BE CLEANED EVERY SINGLE DAY! Gross.

Staff is SO RUDE!!!!! I can t wait for my lease to end. The absolute worst apartments ever. Do not move here. They don t help with anything at all, they give you attitude when you ask for a simple request and their maintenance leaves trash all around the outside of my porch. Not one nice person works in that office. Learn about customer service before you work doing customer service.

I would not recommend this place to anyone. We have moved around and lived in 3 different apartments in this complex and have had issues from the start. Unfortunately it's one of the cheaper places around and we are on a tight budget. Before ever moving in, my husband explained he wanted a unit with washer/dryer connections. He discovered after moving in that it did not have any washer/dryer connections and was told that to move to a unit with them he would have to "break his lease," pay an extra month's rent as a fee to break the lease, and sign a new lease for the new unit. The same maintenance worker 1. On one occasion told me our kitchen sink wasn't leaking because there was no water pooled in the cabinet underneath (stupid me, I had cleaned it up to avoid any damage), 2. left screws on a windowsill which - THANK GOD - I found before our 10 month old baby found them, and 3. Complained to me that it was after 5 pm and he should be home already when I explained to him that it was unacceptable that there was still a puddle in my closet and after he sucked the water out with a shopvac and told me we were "good to go" - There was water pooled around my feet when I stepped into our closet. All of our 3 units had the windows painted shut upon moving in and there are countless paint splatters on the carpet, counters, cabinets, mirrors, and toilets. Our newest unit even had windows caulked shut. Our latest problem is that they can't seem to fix our A/C. We have been overpaying for electric due to a faulty heating & A/C system for the past 8 months since we moved into this unit, and only finally realized it once it got to be 100 degrees outside and the system couldn't keep up. On top of the system not working the insulation must be horrible because it was absolutely freezing in our closet in the winter and it feels like it's 100 degrees in there constantly now that it's summer. We paid $255 for electric last month because the unit ran constantly just to keep our apartment cooled to 85 degrees. It took over a week before they ever even heard back from the company they use to tell them when it could be fixed, yet the manager assured me they've never had any issues with them and they are a great company. I guess not responding to a call for over a week isn't an issue when you're not the one living in an apartment that's 85 degrees. As I type this just a couple of weeks after the repairs, it's once again 80 degrees in our apartment and we were just told the maintenance we received the last time wasn't done properly. This is a horrible place to live.

Just heard that a couple folks from this management literally made my very strong and independent sister cry her eyes out. This is just unacceptable !! How can people be so rude ? Guys , if you just look at the low price and location and fall for this trap, make sure you are resistant to being treated nasty.

The front office staff put on a good show when you are first looking, but they are horrible once you sign the lease. They will accuse you of doing things you didn't do and make up rules whenever they want. All maintenance is horrible and only the bare minimum is ever done. They threatened to evict us for breaking a rule that was no where in our lease. The property manager Thelma is so rude I won't even speak to her anymore. The apartments are old and the "updates" are cheap and shoddy. The laundry area is disgusting. The only redeeming factor is the location, but other complexes offer that and many other positives.

DO NOT MOVE HERE

staff is unfriendly, apartments are outdated and expensive, maintenance and pest control will wonder in around your apartment without a warning.

I had issues with my neighbor and the office did nothing, my car got broken into and again the office did nothing even with 2 police officers living on the premises you would think they would either have cameras or officers watching if crime is happening.

Oh be careful with your AC Unit half of them are broken and will run up the Bill and maintenance will act as if it isn t broken but I got an actual professional who came out and fixed it

*our electric bill, for a one bedroom, has never been under $150, and was usually closer to $200. I'm sitting in the bed under 2 comforters and wearing layers because we kept the heat so low in the winter and yet our bill was always the More

I have known several people who lived here and still live here and they love it.

Great apartments for the area. A little older, but the prices are good compared to other apartment complexes.

Quite, friendly staff, and clean.

It was decent for the first year, and then it went downhill fast. Our rent has gone up 25% in three years, the front office staff ranges from unpleasant to rude and to downright spiteful as soon as you've signed your lease, the fitness center is in disrepair and some machines have been broken for more than a year now despite constant reminders to the front office to get them fixed.

The buildings are about 30 years old, and it shows. Awful windows that keep your heating bills high in winter and your cooling bills high in summer, sound travels easily through walls, old AC units that run loud and expensive, and instead of fixing our water heater that could barely provide enough hot water for a single shower, they just cranked the heating element all the way up making us bear the cost on our heating bill instead of actually fixing the thing.

Stay away.

in short - if you dont mind being spoken to rudely by the management or being treated like a dirt bag, go for it.

This is the first ever review I am writing. I usually just keep quite about things but I feel like people should not suffer like me and hence please do yourself a favor and turn your back at this place. I can't even being to explain what happen to me.

Great experience living here and maintenance was always quick. Typical for people to only leave bad responses so wanted to say I would recommend this as a great spot to live.

Reading the reviews below make me sad because I do not understand them. This property is beautiful with the marsh behind it and all the trees on the property. Yes, the buildings are a little older, but the company from what I know does try to make improvements each year on various aspects of the property.

The staff is very polite and knowledgeable if you simply stop to ask them. The manager is great and is always respective of you as long as you are respectful of her.

Some of the walls are thin, but it is an apartment and living in an apartment (especially older ones) is give and take. Some of the apartments are upgraded to look more modern and they are nice.

Looking at some of the reviews on here they do not make sense. And some of them are from years ago, I do not believe they are still relevant (but that is just my opinion). Like I know for a fact that the pools are cleaned everyday. They simply close both pools one day a week to double the amount of chemicals in the pools (an amount dangerous to both humans and animals) to make sure the pools are completely cleaned.

I would recommend this property to anyone as I have lived here before and know several people that still do.

One of the nicer places to live in west ashley and it usually felt safe, HOWEVER the office staff is rude and doesn t seem to care. There is a tenant there that harassed me, slashed my tires and had multiple charges against him for assault and battery and what not. Thankfully I noticed the tires before my daughter got in the car or we rode on the motorcycle. I reported him to them and law enforcement and nothing happened. They allowed him to resign a lease and actually moved to an apartment closer to mine even though they do background checks and don t allow people like that to live there. I broke my lease and left because I felt unsafe and threatened. The pools and grounds were nice but workout room and bathrooms were run down at the pools.

Good customer service from girls in the office, even offered and retrieved a popsicle for my friend's son on a hot day!

Just wanted to give some honest feedback--we lived here for four years and really enjoyed the cove! The location is A+ for the price (although the price did go up quite a bit since we originally moved in--$100+-- but it's still a better deal than a lot of other places for the space/amenities/location IMO). The fireplace was awesome. Also you can't beat those gorgeous marsh views.

This is a really great place to live. Very safe--they even have an officer out during the evening from time to time. The pools are nice and very clean. I never had a problem with the staff, everyone was always very nice and genuinely helpful. The maintenance staff is awesome as well. They are super quick when you have a request and always do a great job.

I would definitely recommend this apartment complex to those looking for a place to live in West Ashley. We'll definitely miss the cove!

If I could give this place ZERO STARS I would. I am in the process of ending my lease early it is that bad! 1st, we had our clothing stolen from the "secure" laundromat 3 times and nothing was done, no cameras are there. 2nd, Our apartment got flooded 2 times, the second time the whole place as under 4 inches of water due to a bursted pipe, they refuse to replace the carpet and said drying and spraying it was good enough, they hooked up huge fans and dehumidifiers which racked up our electric bill and they refused to reemburse (flooding is a reoccurring thing i've heard from other tennants) . 3rd the apartments are completely outdated, there is water damage stains on the ceilings, the windows and doors have crappy seals so the heat and air don't hold. The heat and air also break frequently and Maintenance is always here to repair it ( maintenance is good, they are always quick to respond) Don't get the first floor, the walls are thin and you can hear the people upstairs stomping around all the time. The people in the front office are extremely rude once you are a tenant. Long story short DONT MOVE IN HERE!!!!!!

I would get it a zero star if i could, be careful they will evict you for OVER PAYING!!! They will return your payment to you then require you to send them another payment, then evict you, its extremely selfish of them because they dont want to have to keep track with how much you've over paid. Lazy!

So far, this is a great place, this is the 3rd complex in 2 years, feels like I am finally home!

The complex is for the most part very pleasant. However, they should be more involved with complaints. It's apparently ok to have children screaming around the complex. The apartments are a little out dated, a lot had to be fixed when we moved in. The popcorn ceiling truly needs to go as well. It's always peeling off in the master bath, and good luck getting the painter in to fix it. Currently I still have it coming off the ceiling from over a month ago. You have to keep calling about it. On the other hand, the land scape is very well kept. I love how close we are to the river. It's very pet friendly and most of the residents are very friendly and respectful as well. It's a great price for its location.

I see all these bad reviews, but I don't understand them! I've been here for 2 years and I have loved every day of it! The grounds are beautiful and always kept up. The staff are nice and want to make sure you're happy. They're always throwing fun little parties and doing things for their residents. It is quiet (at least where I live) . And yes, children live here so, children tend to have fun, but they're not all over the place running rampant. If I have something wrong with my apt, I just put in a maintenence request and it's taken care of in the next couple of days. Yes, the apartments can be hard to find bc the campus is so big, but so what? I love Middleton cove! !!!

Middleton Cove is great! This is second apartment I've had here. When I got orders for a long deployment management was very helpful getting me out and helping me find a new place to come back to. The maintenance staff is awesome and will come the same day you call in. Reception staff is always nice and ready to help no matter what. It is quiet, the neighbors are all nice, and the laundry facilities are good.

I am updating the review. The attention to tenant needs has been fantastic as I had two issues with my air conditioner and both were resolved immediately. Coming from New England where landlord maintenance doesn't exist I was highly impressed. There are little activities every so often which is nice for tenants. It is nice for us, low maintenance and little to no drama, quiet area. Could use some updating but otherwise a good experience and living environment. And the location is perfect, central to the beaches, downtown, airports, shopping.

This place is wonderful! I would recommend this place to anyone!

Has great views, the staff is great with anything you need and the prices are reasonable for the quality you get compared to other places in the area.

I reside here now....beautiful landscape...im moving in September due to family issues I need to help out my sister with her children so I'm moving in to help her...I'm going miss Middleton Cove beautiful marshlands...love the business center, and 2 pool area...The management team had an oyster roast for all us residents to come together...real fun times here

Nice place to live but I ve asked them multiple times to remove a silver dodge truck who has just been parked there with no parking pass and a flat tire for almost a year now. It takes up parking space and I have a truck and actually live in the building and have to find other parking. Annoying. The truck hasn t even left at all.

Moved here in October. Wonderful staff and beautiful property. Nice and quite community and great neighbors. I especially love the screened in porch and the extra storage space.

Wonderful Staff. Beautiful property. I recently moved in 2 bedroom, near the Marsh. I Especially love my kitchen and the upgraded appliances. I enjoy the screen in porch, I feel like Im not closed in, in my apartment, I can enjoy the fresh air and great scenery from the March.

Don t move here. The staff is very lazy. Someone attempted to break in on Friday night and when I called Saturday morning they said they couldn t fix the damages until Monday and will notify property manager then as well.

This is a great place to live. Quite, views are great, and staff are really nice.

Older apartments, but the prices are low compared to others and the quality for what you get here is great.

I know people that have lived here for a long time and they love it. Every time I visit it feels like home. The views are great in the back with the marsh and the property is very quite.

They are always doing improvements on the property like putting on new roofs and on one side of the property last year they just put all brand new windows.

I would recommend this property to anyone.

We lived here for a year. The staff was always polite and helpful with anything you needed. Any issues were taken care of quickly and professionally. We relocated to another state; otherwise, we would have continued renting here.
