Amazing food. Didn't think that the music suited the restaurant. I would return for a special meal

Scrumptious food, wonderful service and amazing views of the harbour! Would recommend this place to everyone.

The menu was interesting; the food was delicious and the staff friendly, helpful and attentive. I love eat right next to the harbour in the middle of town. It was quite expensive. But I shall be happy to go back.

Have been to this place a few times.
Can not fault great food and wine selection,great staff.

Went there for a rare date night. Was not disappointed. The food was excellent and the service equal to that. From the moment we arrived we were treated as if we were welcome guests - not just a potential sale. Our wait staff were quietly attentive and friendly. A slight error in the order meant that we ended up having something we would not normally have - but who cares it was great and we will order it again. And - to round the evening off - it did not cost the earth. We'll be back!!

Excellent service and food. The chef was able to prepare a special meal to cater to allergies. Everything tasted amazing!

Great service, great food, good for gluten free, only down Point was when the efpos bill came up on the efpos machine, did we want to tip or not. Sorry that is not on, if I want to tip I would tip the person who gave me very good service, although I do have a policy of not tipping.

We celebrated a milestone wedding anniversary at Shed 5 on Saturday night with our original wedding party. Everything was perfect: the location, the food and wine, the service, and the ambiance. We really appreciated the little creative acknowledgment of the occasion from the kitchen just before the dessert was served too. The whole occasion was totally memorable and our out-of-town guests were very impressed. Shed 5 has now become our restaurant for special occasions or whenever we want to treat ourselves and others. Thanks so much.

The food was beautiful read the menu and you think yeh I don't know then order and even that first bite you are absolutely blown away, the flavour ant textures are to die for

Not the fastest service, but man the food was good, you won't regret it.

Very unique restaurant inside out. Had lunch with colleague, the wait for main was a bit long, but it's worth the wait. Appetizer fish brandade was good (bread base was warm!), main was fish of the day (snapper), will give it 4.5 out of 5.

Very good restaurant, neat plates and service, restoring confidence in the NZ catering otherwise very disappointing in the past 12 days.
We particularly enjoyed the sea chowder soup. Good wine list. Many room staff speak French.

Excellent food and wine and the service was superb! Marko served us all night and his fantastic knowledge about the produce on menu made our meal such an enjoyable experience. He made amazing recommendations and I would 100% go back again. A little more expensive than your average but worth every penny!

The catch of the day, prawn and crayfish entree was Devine loved it!Our table was right by the window so we could look out to the night dock...

The guy who was the waiter that served us came off a bit rude and upset my mate for trying to rush our orders...
However he apologized so that was ok.

Throughly enjoyed my night at this place, enjoyed the music the xmas displays and all awesome work shed-5!
5/5 from me and I will be seeing you again.

Friendly staff, the sous vide steak was tender and the crust was delicious. The confit duck was disappointing, but the lychee and candied orange peel salad was a decadent and refreshing finish to an overall tasty meal. The wait staff were courteous and attentive. Thank you.

Good to see Shed 5 open again with their fabulous menu, friendly staff and plenty of space between tables. The h puka and seafood chowder were superb, as was the lamb. Consistently high quality and good value for fine dining in a relaxed setting.

Delightful lunch, good vegetarian and gluten free options.. Seafood risotto very good, although I think the addition of saffron would be beneficial. Service excellent. They even created a "Happy Birthday" platter for my wife.

delicious meal & some dishes are very particular & we hardly to see in other restaurants. Service always good too. What's why we got her every few months.

Food and atmosphere of the crab shack is great, but it is expensive.

Got lots of attitude when I didn't tip. Sorry but tipping is not part of NZ culture and I don't want it to become part of our culture. Give me an honest price that includes service and I'll happily pay it.

Great greeting on arrival for four of us there for my mother's birthday dinner. I always start with a rating of 5 for restaurants and take points away based on the experience throughout the night. Can I just say, I've come to Shed 5 multiple times and tonight was rather disappointing.

The good stuff:
- seated by the window
- maitre d organised a way for us to extend our table time (may not have worked out in our favour, should've just left it at the regular sitting time slot)
- knowledgeable wait staff
- Duck entree was amazing as usual and love the balsamic they use for the bread
- creme brulee was tasty

The bad stuff:
- weird way of ordering. I usually order for multiple people (have done so with other visits here), but this time it was everyone order per seat... and got cut off by wait staff. Annoying habit I hate.
- the overall dining experience felt almost purposefully dragged out with no fillers in between (I.e. offer more drinks perhaps) water glasses went empty for about 20 mins! I noticed other areas being served well by their wait staff, so maybe ours was a dud
- my main was super oily and super salty. I had to get others to taste it to make sure i wasn't imagining it because I know my taste buds can be sensitive sometimes, but they agreed my meal was salty. Needless to say I couldnt eat much of it.
- long wait between main, dessert and after dinner drinks.

Last time we were here, while its not a NZ custom, we tipped our wait staff really well and unfortunately this time we paid our bill and left.

Not the usual Shed 5 standard, so don't base going there on this review alone. I will still go back with a new season's menu, but yeah, left tonight feeling a bit disappointed.

We'll be back! Great service, good food! Would have liked a few more classic "kiwi" fish options. Maybe some Blue Cod or Gurnard perhaps??

Food is delicious, though as is common for such an up market place, the portions can be a little small.

Our go to for a special dinner or for overseas visitors. Always first class service, New Zealand cuisine and wine! On the Wellington waterfront with plenty of nearby parking.

Good selection of food and wine to choose between. Few resturants have great service as Shed 5. Contender for the best lamb in Wellington.

we were in for Valentine's day dinner. Paid $150 for avarage entry, undercooked lamb rack, small piece of fish and "not" chocolate fondant cake.
pretty disappointing comparing to the price.

Excellent service and good food. Was served by Mario, he was thoughtful and eager to make our dining experience a wonderful one.

A favourite place to have a drink and something to eat

Great food that was surprisingly really filling. Our waitress Ines was awesome. We've had her twice now and she was absolutely on to it, friendly and knowledgeable. One of the best dining experiences in Wellington.

Was a special occasion for my husband and I. Edwin looked after us well at first but sadly it got busy and we were forgotten about. No desert or coffee offered. Bit of a shame but food and atmosphere was lovely.

Wine list comprehensive.

The oysters are good, the fish has a savory taste, the accompanying dishes are beautiful, and crispy, with surprises.
The sheep is already full meat, no need to start bones, it is very convenient. The mutton entrance is tender and delicious, accompanied by hot soup, and the taste is greatly improved.

On Friday last, my wife and I treated friends to an evening meal at Shed 5.
The restaurant was about two thirds full. Initially the waitress was attentive, taking the orders, however from then on, things went down hill.
Although we received our (pre made) entree in a reasonable time, the waitress then went into hiding & we did not receive our mains for another 50 mins.
The food, when eventually delivered was average, the price was not. The whole experience not helped by the bill including a pre recorded payment for a tip, which we declined to accept.
Very disappointing. Given the range of very good eating places in Wellington, we will not be back and will advise our friends the same.

Great food and service! And finally a place prepared if asking for pregnancy safe dishes

A warm welcome was the beginning of the great service experience. The food was superb with a difficult choice of favourite between the ikamata and the risotto. Edwin delivered congenial and professional service throughout the meal which allowed the business discussion to flow easily. I will be happy to visit here again, hopefully in the not too distant future.

A few of us went to Shed 5 for the Ladies Lunch... absolutely looked after by the friendly efficient waiting people. The set menu of 3 courses, and wine was soooo reasonable... the food was divine. We definitely will go there again. A fabulous dining experience, thanks guys

Great location. Tables nicely spaced. Duck and shiitake spring rolls entree divine. Suffers from a limited beer list.

A lot of effort has gone into designing the decode and ambiance which has given a strange movie set feel to the place. The food is ok but take a while to get to you. Very good calamarie. If you really like crab this is the place for you other wise it's just loud.

Best service and best food you could ask for. Stunning! Our waitress (lovely Canadian) was simply gave us the best service we've ever had. Double her hourly rate!

Good balanced menu with very tasty food that met expectations. Attentive staff nicely brought over an extra birthday treat at the end of the night. Sommelier gave some very good recommendations for the mains we selected. Only negative was that the chairs are in need of replacement/refurbishment, perhaps by some more comfortable ones.

Although the speciality is seafood, there is a good range of options for all tastes. All dishes delivered to the table were beautifully prepared and presented. Great wine options and friendly service. It's not an inexpensive option by any means but worth a night out on a special occasion.

Nice atmosphere staff can't do enough for you but the food was very average no flavor and tiny soup was in a shot glass.
