The mixed drinks tasted like water with a touch of fruit juice and the seafood pasta was HORRIBLE! We have gone there every year for the past 3 years and it gets worse every year. This experience is going to be our last.

Have awesome food 3 restaurants bathrooms and the best fishing pier to catch 10 foot sharks to smoke 2 sniper draw the kids on a little hook catch bait fish all day long really cool place to fish Hangouts when there's a great Beach restaurants volleyball does a Gator Park next door coconut palm trees the roof is made out of it like straw or Palm leaves so I give you that look and feel of an island
Terrible service start to finish. I have been here twice, both instances I have been greeted by the grouchy hostess, then after getting to my table treated to slow, terrible service. The place always seems to be under staffed and servers untrained or just super slow. Terrible management!! Have a drink and watch the sunset don't waste your time or money with the lousy service and cold food. Big Sean the HORRIBLE Fat Ass bartender should have bee fired long ago... Apparently management and owners must be afraid of this jerk as to not have fired him already. Venice could do a great service to the community by not renewing the lease. I have been many places that work under pressure in a busy tourist environment that are able to function in a coherent, professional manner.
This place is fantastic! My family was in town for a Wedding and we visited Sharkey's after reading a written review in the log at the VBRO we had rented. We were only in town for the weekend and wanted to visit some local flare for lunch.
Our server's name was Dillon. What a terrific young man! He was funny but professional, very accommodating, and really a top notch waiter!
The food was really good and the portions size more than adequate. And if you like cocktails, you need to try the Mango-Bango!
They have indoor and outdoor seating. It was a nice day and we opted to eat outside but under the covered area. There as a quick storm that rolled in and all of the wait staff were right there to assist the customers that were seated in the open area at the tables that had umbrellas...putting them down so they did not blow away or harm anyone and moving people to a dry area.
The pier is a nice walk and great place for photo-ops!

Its gamey. Bad taste. Totally a miss. I had a girl friend who referred to food like this with the unflattering but also unclear adjective that it's spirit is absent. How could any restaurant fail so badly? I theorize that the chicken was frozen and sliced as in sliced deli sandwich. it was not seasoned or grilled. Very weird. The tortilla was drenched with grease. Not crunchy.
Pico de Gallo: too salty. Almost inedible.

We used to enjoy going here but our last visit was disappointing. We had giant pieces of mango on what was advertised as salsa on the fish tacos and the fish was not that good either. The grouper wrap was okay, it would have been better with some sort of kick.
Overall the place is a zoo. Lots of people and you have to travel a maze to find your table. Food is not great.
What I recommend is eat before you go, then visit the pier. We saw folks catching fish and two dolphins swimming near by.

Had a great experience. It was the first time in the Venice area and will return. Our waitress(Nancy) was right on top of everything. You have to try the Crab Stuffed Mushrooms.(awsome)
Sharky's is a restaurant located directly on Venice Beach in an undeveloped area. You can walk the beach for miles, have a delicious dinner and drinks, and watch the sunset over the Gulf. The fishing pier is free to walk or fish and there is a bait and tackle store on the pier. I will be visiting here again soon. The vibe is relaxing and chill. There are walking trails nearby.

It was OK. I go out to eat to enjoy something that I can't prepare myself. Had the Grouper and it was ahhh... I've made better and cost was a lot cheaper than what I paid yesterday.

I would have given this restaurant 2 stars but cause of lots of people with no taste buds gave it 5 stars, to balance the ratings, I am giving it a star. Someone wrote thai ginger shrimp chicken must have.. yeah get it at authentic thai restaurant, not here!
In a nutshell: I found everything I expected from a restaurant. Hygienic, pleasant atmosphere, friendly service and wonderfully prepared fish. It was difficult for me not to feed the two birds that were running around under my table.
The bar is okay but way overpriced meals. Save ur $ never order the conch fritters as that's not the way they r supposed to b. How can u mess up a blackened grouper sandwich? Service was horrible absolutely horrible. Come for the sunset & grab a drink and then go anywhere else to eat.
Really like the place. Great atmosphere, good food, a bit pricey. Here's the problem: no bar seats while waiting. Not many places to sit but the real complaint is this. Mid-afternoon. Got a seat at the bar, ordered a draft beer from a bartender who really needed a personality, got the beer in a PLASTIC CUP ( important). Sat quietly, got a phone call, decided to have another small PLASTIC CUP of beer. So I'm ready to leave. I asked the "bartender" for my bill. He said "$12".
Be advised: There are no signs that give beer prices. I will NEVER buy another one of their overpriced crappy drafts again. Maybe they should give the bartender a flyswatter to get rid of the flies that are crawling over their lemons and limes.

The pier was under construction. Hopefully it s finished. Beautiful sunset view from the pier. Ample parking. Easy access to the restroom and the showers.

Out day trippin and came across this beach front bar and grill. We had about a 20 minute wait for a table but was able to grab a drink from the bar before seating. This bar is right on the beach and at the base of the pier. Great location! I had a burger and my wife had the pork tacos. My burger was cooked as requested and was flame grilled. The fries were ordinary but still good. My wife's tacos were also done to her liking and on double corn tortillas. She enjoyed the meal as did I. It was also nice that they serve you fresh baked strawberry bread when they seat you to enjoy! It was also tasty! All in all a good experience and a great location! I recommend!
The waiter Stephen Hurtley was great very attentive to us with his service. Food and dessert were phenomenal. Had the Lobter Stuffed flounder and a must try the Chocolate
Trouble for that sweet tooth after dinner definitely must share. We are 11/2 hour away and it was all worth it. Definitely will be back. Great place to spend a day at the beach and watch the sunset.

Sharky's On The Pier has an amazing setting. It is situated right on at the base of the pier in Venice FL. I believe every table has a perfect view looking out over the sand and surf of the Gulf of Mexico. Being on the West coast of FL you got the sunset over the Gulf to enjoy if you're there for dinner.
Liz and I enjoyed dinner there on 10/25/14. We sat at the tiki bar and enjoyed a few tropical drinks and dinner served up by some fun-loving bartenders.
The menu is rather extensive, more than seems sensible, however since they need to cater to a wide range of tourist diners I suppose they need to provide many options. We opted for their signature dishes and we were both very pleased with our meals. The prices are fair. I don't have anything negative to say. It is a great "Jimmy Buffett" kind of laid-back place to wear your shades and flip-flops to the table and sip a Margarita with your fish taco meal.

Great view on the boardwalk. Very crowded though, food had no special touch, the food plain Jane. The wait was not worth it and the restaurant too crowded for my liking, service not good. The music added a little flair. But this place need a humph.

The wait was over an hour. But we were warned it would be. A tiki bar offered shade and you could buy drinks while you waited. We looked for shark teeth on the beach. No, I would not go there again. No prices on the menu is never a good sign. I had the chicken. It was OK. But I can find the same quality closer to home. My son in law had the sword fish. He did not like it. My daughter who doesn't like fish, finished the sword fish and loved it!
Destination in Venice for all. Beach enjoyment, sun, eats, bar, sunsets, fishing pier, plenty parking, on and on.
The environment was great, the food was delicious, the waiter was helpful. I didn't even have to ask for another drink. I will be coming back soon. I would give shark's on the peir 10 stars if I could. Enjoyed everything about this restaurant.

Its s good place to enjoy the beach, the view and eat something. You can go with kids. Its not too expensive and probably you will need to wait. After that you can go to see what people are fishing in thw pier and take good photos too. Everytime in here i go a couple of times.
