We've lived in Venice for years and love taking family and guests to Sharky's. However, we had a party of 22 this past Sunday because my daughter graduated VHS. 8 children and 14 teens and adults. The staff was amazing!!!
I called ahead to see if they'd laugh at me and they were so welcoming and encouraging. They weren't too busy yet so we were able to get booths and a table near each other outside.
Our orders came out perfectly, drink refills were abundant, service was excellent and friendly...super smooth and fun! Food was amazing as always.

It has an amazing view. Very chilled out atmosphere. Decoration is a little stuffy and outdated, but that's not the reason to come to this place; is all about the view! Food is delicious, and their stuffed flounder with the lobster & artichoke topping is great. For deserts, definitely the macadamia chocolate mousse.

Great drinks, food & service too. Well worth the wait. Friendly, fun-living.

I ordered the $15.00 hamburger with cheese, onions, tomatoes, etc. The fries were excellent; however the burger wasn't hot enough to melt the cheese. Wonder if it was made up earlier as it reminded me of a leftover burger??? Room for improvement!!!! Server was pleasant and prompt.

Had a nice lunch and enjoyed the beach. The restaurant was a short wait before we got a table, but the food was good. Loved those sweet potato fries. They were a nice thick sliced fries. The beach was not as crowded either. Good time.

This place has really gone downhill. When I have out of town guests, Sharky's has been a standard part of the itinerary. No longer! Having had bad food last time, this time we went with plans only to have a drink and appetizer. Drinks were fine. Ordered coconut shrimp for the table. Two of us took bites out of 2 small pieces that were included in the order and immediately had the same reaction to how bad they were. Something was WAY off! When server came back we asked him to take away (1/2 order untouched and two small bites that should have been spit out from the other 1/2) & mentioned how off they were. He said, "Oh" and walked away, lol. Never anything said throughout, nor was it taken off of bill. Alrighty then! The sad thing is is that they can get away with it and still succeed because of it being an unbelievable location. Would sure be nice if they cared about their customers and about the quality of food and service like they used to!!!

Over priced and our waiter was seriously unhelpful.

Great food, right on the pier, surrounded by the Gulf..a lil bit of paradise.

$18 for a pitcher of domestic beer, really? Tourist trap or not, that is absolutely ridiculous. No prices on the menu to even let you know what the beer is going to cost. Straight-up rip off, taking advantage. Shame.

One of our absolute favs...missed going there due to Covid...went recently..felt safe.

If you have any food questions, don't sit on the bar. I had a few questions due to food allergies and the bartender looked at me like i was crazy. (they weren't that busy to take 2 mins to answer) Seriously, he did not know anything about the menu or he just didn't care. I should of left right then but i was starving so i ordered the salmon. The salmon was cold so i boxed it up to take home. (and he never checked back with me to see how the food was) However, the cold slaw and the cocktail were really good...thus 2 stars.

Beautiful spot for a meal, a cook drink, and a great view. Staff are wonderful, prices are reasonable and the temperature can't be beat in the shade, under the fans.

Was there to participate in the Sharky's Ride the Beaches cycling event. Great event !

WOW, how exiting, we just had a quick lunch where my wife and I shared the Beach Partu Gulf Starters, with three jumbo peel and eat shrimp, three battered jumbo shrimp, many of the grouper nuggets and hand breaded onion rings, all of which were mouth watering delicious, our waitress Maria was fabulous, friendly and informative, we were also served rolls and butter. This was spectacular as we had a window seat overlooking the water. I would highly recommend this establishment.

Its a great place to eat and have a drink but, bring some green!

Sat outside and got attacked by flies. The floor was disgusting and food was overpriced . The only positive was our service.

Dylan is the best!! Seriously, ask for Dylan. The food and atmosphere is pretty great too!

The reason for the one star is due to two situations in customer service that were poorly handled.

First of all it was our first time at Sharky's. Our good friends recommended them. We were from out of town hungry and looking forward to a great experience.

Here goes.....after sharing with the hostess it was our first time here she began to talk down to us. Attempted to make us into some joke. She never smiled or greeted us, just expressed her negetive attitude towards us and how bored she appeared with her job.

My wife who rarely gets upset felt so insulted called from her cell phone to speak to a manager on the spot.

In stead of attempting to keep us as a customer the manager just played it off with I'm sorry and we are busy and we will talk to her.

Example of how not to welcome a customer and how the manager missed the opportunity to convert us to stay and experience a good moment like our friends.

However we did go to Dockside Grill and had great food, drinks, service and left with fond memories to share with others. Will be returning to Dockside for sure.

Waited an hour and a half to be seated, gave up and went home. Wait time was said to be 45 mins.

The view, the ability to just park and walk at anytime, safely. I enjoyed the wind, waves, stars, music

Good food, good service, priced range medium to high.

I was looking forward to a tasteful Grouper sandwich. I was very disappointed.It was tasteless and my batter kept falling off. I will never return. Waste of my money. Thanks

Love it all..but a bit pricey... you are WATERFRONT.

The service could be improved but the food was good. Just kind of walked up to the counter and was ignored for a good 5 minutes despite it not being all that busy. A little "Hey, I'll be right there!" would just let people know they're at the correct place.

One of our favorite touristy "must go to's" when in Venice.

I have eaten there for a couple of years as I've been a resident of Florida for 4 years and it has always been a favorite. This time I can say truthfully that I tried one of their new rice bowls and it was fantastic!! I tried it with the grouper and loved it! Next time I will try it with the mahi mahi, the next time with the shrimp!

Besides being next to the sand, there's nothing great. Food is mediocre, drinks are overpriced and teeny tiny, and where our table was, kitchen grease was blown into us and all we could hear was the whirring of the frozen drink machines. It also doesn't help that the red tide causes you to cough

Good service and food, but the prices are on the high side. You pay for the view and proximity to the pier for a post meal walk.

FOOD WAS TERRIBLE. SERVICE WAS TERRIBLE. WE CAME FOR A GRADUATION PARTY DINNER AND WE RESERVED A SPOT FOR 10. DIDN'T SAY ANYTHING ABOUT THE LIMIT THEY HAVE ON HOW MANY PEOPLE THEY CAN SIT. WE HAD TO SIT IN SEPARATE TABLES. VERY STUPID. NEVER EATING HERE AGAIN. STAFF MEMBERS WERE VERY RUDE TO US.

Fabulous tiki bar. We had great drinks. Gluten free nachos. Mahi Mahi taco taco. White chocolate cheesecake and key lime pie. So much food. Everything was done perfectly.

Sharky s is just one of those restaurants that you need to go to. Seating on the pier or seating inside, it s nice to enjoy the food and relax on beachside. The staff is friendly. Warning: when we went there was only out door waiting. Now you could come into the gift shop and get away rain, however red tide was occurring while we went. As an Indiana native, I didn t know what red tide was before this. It s when this algae washes ashore and kind looks red, but the big problem is it makes you cough really badly (and you can get sick going in the water). While we waited to be seated inside we didn t have any real protection against the winds. If you want to avoid this, just go when there s no red tide!

Overpriced, nothing special, greasy, poor management. If you know food like I do, you will avoid this place. If you do go, you will remember the beach and pier more than the food.

Enjoyed the food, the staff was very friendly. We will definitely go back there. The view from sitting out is beautiful too

Tom was a Rockstar bartender, Mike was a great assistant and Fabio was just there. ;) Food and drinks were perfect.

Fab ambience. Great view. Good food. Nice staff. Way better and more than you can expect in a "tourist" restaurant. Highly recommend.

Great food and drink and an absolutely stunning location. Try their calamari platter - its killer!

My wife and I went here today for the first time with our friends. The place looks great, atmosphere was nice. Lots of people having a good time, live music outside. Expectations where high. Looking through the menu, everything sounded good, a healthy variety of seafood. We were excited. The special was presented to us, it was a large bowl of an assortment of seafood including lobster, snow crab, shrimp, clams with veggies. My wife and I decided to order the special, our friends ordered from the menu.
Service was quick, especially considering how busy they where. Our food came out quick, presentation was on par. Everything up to this point was good. Digging into our meal, we quickly realized, the food was flavorless. Nothing seemed to be seasoned not even salted. The butter for the crab and lobster wasn't even salted. Wanting to add flavor to our evening we looked for a salt shaker. One was nowhere to be found. Waiting for the waitress to stop by the irony started to sink in. We are sitting right next to the salty gulf but the salt has evaded us. Its as if they were catering to the cardiac patients of Venice.
This dinner had so much potential, the food wanted to impress but it came very short. When your lobster is just as plain as the boiled potatoes that came with it, you leave disappointed.

P.S. The waitress did get us a salt shaker but when you're paying $70 for a dinner, you expect the flavor to be included.

Food was good and sitting with the ocean in view was a nice scene. A little pricy but to be expected at a location like that. Worth the visit.

Love this place. Great atmosphere and a wide selection of food. Good music and the views are stellar. Also love you can grab a drink and walk by the water if there's a wait for a table!

Very hot day, but convinced ourselves to sit outside under a fan. I'm glad we did. The place has a great vibe. We had a seafood combo platter to share which was great and reasonable value. I had a pina colada for pud, which turned out to be the best I've had (and I've had my share) and really excellent value.

Location is really nice. Atmosphere was good also . Waitress was spot on. Band was pretty good. Food was disappointing. I ordered the fish and chips. Then a small snake made it's way into the outside seating area and ccx caused a.small commotion. It started to rain and the outside dining area quickly went under water. I literally had to walk thru 3 inches of water to exit and the staff said it happens all the time. So in short.... good place to hang out, bad food , and dont wear nice shoes

Mediocre experience... It's too bad really... Beach experience great! Food & Service ? Ehhh I would run it totally different. This area needs NEW, FRESH IDEAS.

$$$$$ Wow its pricey here but the food was good I suppose, not $$$$$ good though. I also can't comprehend why they do 5$ for a plastic beer cup, thats theme park prices! I could buy a whole 6 pack and sit on the beach myslef.
I believe 2 visits is enough for my wallet. If I want fish n chips i'll stick to cafe 776 in englewood, 12$ for 3 huge filets that contain FLAVOR.

Walk on the beach...great food and wonderful people!!! A must try!!!
