Sharky's has always been more of a tourist destination, so you pay a little more for the location and views. That being said, you have to go and at least check it out and walk on the pier if you are just visiting. Venice is becoming more and more popular, so it will never be the small town it once was. Don't let that deter you though... You should swing by here and grab some food/drinks and walk around if you are in the area.

Very expensive. There were little flies flying around us while we were eating... Inside!
When I mentioned it to our server, he said, It is what it is. Although the food was ok, it costs waaay too much. I feel that people that are just in awe over this place are just being trendy and pretentious. Way better food here in the area at much better prices.

Food good amount for price....drinks over priced for what you get...Those tiny little plastic cups and they try to say that s a double and a double should be at least size of a beer plastic cup

About 13-14 years ago, I used to fly into Venice while I was in flight training to enjoy the wonderful food, especially the fresh homemade bread. Much has changed since then. My family, wife and three little ones, flew in to Venice on Labor Day. After arriving at Suncoast Air Center, where we received very poor service from the FBO, we were told there was no shuttle service today from the airport to Sharky's and told that the walk was about a mile. It was definitely over a mile. So while on the walk with the kids in tow, I called Sharky's and explained that we had just arrived and being that they didn't have the shuttle up and running, if we could be placed on the wait list so that when we get there, we might be able to get seated. We were told that they couldn't do anything for us. We elected to continue as we had already been on the walk and were half way there. Upon arrival, I could see that much has changed, and I believe not all for the good either. The place has been very extremely commercialized from what it used to be. The food was nothing to write home about, and some of the staff definitely lack good customer service skills. I can definitely say I miss the old Sharkys. It seems that as they got popular, they took away the good ole home feel that they used to have. The beach was beautiful, as well as the pier, but I wouldn't go back to spend that kind of money on the food, only to deal with poor customer service. No thanks!

As a single diner it is often hard to get a table at a busy restaurant. Most don't want to give up a 4-top table for one person. Having not been here I did not know exactly what to expect. The place is huge and definitely one for tourists. When I arrived I was told it would be 75 minutes until a table would be available. The hostess very quickly explained other places to go (throughout the restaurant) where you can get a drink or just hang out until a table is ready. I tried to scope out the best I could but the crowds were heavy and it was 15 - 20 minutes just to get a beverage.

I walked around and saw they had a huge back patio which looked like it was set for large parties. I headed upstairs and while I was excited to find a seat, they only offer a few appetizers so I found my way back downstairs.

As I was waiting around I noticed a bar table open. My first thought was to grab it but then I was worried someone would say they are reserved. Next thing I know a couple sat down. Long story short - those tables are first come first serve. You don't know, what you don't know and I should have taken a chance.

So....my wait continues. At the 70 minute mark my buzzer went off and I was escorted to a table on the back patio in-between two large (12+) parties. Lots of noise, kids and I was bracing for an unpleasant dining experience.

The server was great and provided great suggestions for dinner and a drink. My food (one lonely crab cake) came out quickly however it was cold. I sent it back and waited about 15 minutes (it was just one crab cake). The server was in the weeds with the two large tables and other than walking by extremely busy, he never had time to stop by to check on me nor get me the check.

I waited another 15 minutes after my meal and sought out a manager. The person I spoke with was Wanda and she was extremely rude and unprofessional. She never apologized but rather became very confrontational when I told her about the wait just to get seated. She said I did not wait as long as I stated because she was the one who sat me. I pointed out it was someone else and actually shower her the timer (on my phone) from the moment I checked in to the moment I was sat. All I needed was a sincere apology and I would have been ok.

Great place on the pier, super busy and loud in some areas, indoor and outdoor seating, large menu. Not the best atmosphere for a single diner. It certainly was an experience but one I'd prefer not to repeat.

Sharky's boasts a great location and a decently tasty and boozy drinks menu. The food however was average at best, but mostly not great and very expensive. A tourist trap, I suppose, but luckily the atmosphere was fun and cheerful to bring me out of my slump from lunch.

Flew into Venice airport with a few passengers, walked in the rain to sharkys to go on the fishing pier. When we were ready to head back to the airport I asked a staff member if we would be able to get a shuttle back to the airport since the weather was so-so; we walked to the pier in pouring rain. She said yes and went to get the driver, or so I suppose was the driver. A middle aged employee named Jeff came to us and asked us if we were the one needing the shuttle and I said yes. He continued to interrogate us on if we ate here at sharkys; I said no and he said "well if you aren't giving us money we won't waste ours on you all". I said "okay" and he continued to state rude, condescending statements in front of me and my passengers - incredibly rude and unprofessional; I was planning on leaving the driver a reasonable tip, after all the airport is less than a mile from sharkys. I have been to sharkys many times before with great service, so the behavior of this gentleman left me confused. I would have been fine if he just said that the shuttle to the airport is only for paying customers, but apparently he was having a bad day and decided to take it out on us - unbelievable, learn some customer service and general professionalism, until then I will not recommend this establishment to my passengers, friends, and family.

Could have been perfect if there were a couple more bars set up for this New Year's event....very long lines. We ate a big sit down meal outside. The pasta and scallops and mushrooms was great. The broiled scallops were a little rubbery and the butter sauce was missing something. The pork ribs were reportedly so good there was no sharing allowed. The calimari came in a large serving size with typical flavor and form. The various daiquiri and pina colada and margarita machines were nifty for the outside bar. Draft beer was nothing special. Band was nce and beng right next to the pier was outstanding. This was a nice event even if it was a bit cramped. $10 was not too much for the fee.

We sat at the outside bar and found the bar dirty. Also wile sitting next to the server station we noticed there hands went from carrying a dirty tray straight into the garnish dishes. Next the smell coming from the premade frozen drink containers was intolerable. And finally the drinks were over priced and tasteless. On the positive side there is a nice view of the pier and beach.

DON'T EAT THE FOOD!!! The kitchen is filthy! I wouldn't feed my dog there. I am appalled that the City of Venice hasn't yanked their licence! Walking out late one night, they had the doors open & we were able to peer into the kitchen. What I saw made me physically ILL.... Try somewhere like Marker 4 or Pop's Sunset Grill, they are on the IC, but much better deals and THEY ARE CLEAN!!!!

The food was really good and the portion sizes were great. The live musician did a fantastic job on cover songs. That is where my positive feedback ends. We have been vacationing in Venice for years and have wanted to eat here but the wait was always too long. So this year we made reservations 2 days in advance for 5 people. When we arrived they sat us right away ...at a 4 person table. We asked how we could sit and comfortably eat and the hostess very nicely... got us another chair. She was nice but we then had 2 adults, 1 teenager, and 2 other kids crammed into a small table in the middle of the walkway. I was uncomfortable the entire time while large booths next to us were sat with 2 or 3 person parties. Our waiter was pleasant but not overly helpful or interested in whether we enjoyed our meal. For as much as they charge for entrees, I should have loved being there so much that I didnt want to leave. We ate at another seafood restaurant across town a few days ago and sat enjoying our food, time together, and the atmosphere. We didnt mind paying for a dinner well served. Sharkys seemed like they wanted us to sit down, eat, pay, and promptly leave. Enjoyment was not necessary.

Fun.

I really love going to Sharky's when I'm visiting Venice. It's a very relaxed atmosphere, staff is very friendly, and it's a wonderful beach front location. The food is awesome, and so are the drinks. If you want a chill laid back vibe this is the place for you!

This is a popular tourist attraction. Ideal location, right off the beach. You can dine in or out. After dinner you can stroll out to the pier and catch spectacular views. Also, on the pier you can fish & if you forgot your fishing rod, you're in luck because there is a little shop right on the pier where you can rent one... My friends had the crab and they both couldn't say enough good things about it. I had the fish & chips and although the fish itself tasted fine. The fried coating was disappointingly very soggy My husband had ordered as a appetizer their shrimp cocktail and it was definitely Not Fresh- ewwwe. So a little bit of mixed reviews on the meals on this particular day, but I would still highly recommend. You can't beat the location and the Ambiance The pictures were taken on the pier where you can witness some very professional fishing taking place

Fun touristy spot right on the beach. We went in the mid/early afternoon when we figured the wait would be minimal, but there was still a 40+ minute wait for an outdoor table, so plan ahead. Great access to a fishing pier and the rest of the beach. Extremely generous pour of wine for happy hour. Nacho platter was enormous.

I had the Famous Grouper Wrap with a side of Edamame Quinoa. Amazingly tasty meal! Sat outside around the sunset and the views and atmosphere was amazing. The service was top notch. They also had a live band too! Definitely going back many more times. After dinner a nice walk on the pier was the perfect way to end the evening.

The smell of good seafood was on the fall air as we walked the night beach, the music from the live band coming to us under the moonlight was calling us to participate in another adventure, we danced with bellies full and went home with great memories

Red tide was terrible, there was a sea bird dying on the sidewalk because he couldn't breath. This off cost was not the restaurant fault. However I ordered the rainforest shrimp/scallops cost $24 it only had two shrimp which were sliced in half and quartered as md two scallops. Flavor of the ginger sauce was great. For the lack of seafood in the dish it should of been proved at $12. would not order it again.
