SHADE Review

We ordered shades for our entire home from The Shade Company. From the beginning of the project, Michael, our sales rep was respectful and helpful in choosing design options. We ordered over 20 window treatments consisting of honeycomb, overture, and wood slat shades. Michael provided us with expectional service and value. We opted for motorized Somfy shades. Roy and team came to our house to install the shades. During the installation process, we had questions and concerns that were unrelated to the Shade Company. Roy insisted on helping us resolve our issues. The Shade Company team is friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for new window treatments.

UPDATE - After 6 months of having poorly made and horribly installed Graber blinds with numerous remakes only to receive damaged and inferior quality replacements which we only decided to purchase because of a promotion that Costco was running, The Shade Company along with Costco decided instead of doing the right thing and providing an alternative better quality product, that cancelling the order was best for them. Leaving us to start the entire process all over again. We have been more than patient, understanding, cooperative and willing to look for a solution. Now they want to have them removed before we have a chance to have them replaced leaving us with nothing. Strange since they were in no rush to correct the issues but now there is an urgency to have them uninstalled.

I urge anyone in the NYC area to stay far away from The Shade Company and all Graber products. Horrible customer service and poor quality product! I have lots of photos that I am happy to share. Do yourself a huge favor and Stay clear of this company; you will thank me for this advice!

BE WARNED! We purchased custom shades for every room (three bedrooms, two bathrooms, living room and kitchen) in our new apartment because we are long time Costco members and know how they stand behind their products and offer great customer service. They were running a promotion for custom shades so we figured that we had nothing to lose. Let me tell you that from the minute the contract was signed with The Shade Company everything went downhill and fast. It took six weeks for them to arrive. Every room but one had either production issues and or installation problems. Fast forward six weeks, they came back again with damaged materials, incorrectly made materials and an installer that had a foul mouth and didn't stop cursing along with making a racist comment about a female customer at another job of theirs. The installation of the valances was attached by Velcro and began falling off the same day. My children could have done a better job. I am fed up with chasing after them to do the right thing and fix everything correctly once and for all. I write this as a last resort to let others know what a horrific experience this has been and save others from going through this never ending saga!

The Shade Company was fantastic to work with from start to finish. They were extremely knowledgeable when helping me choose the right shades for my apartment and they quoted me a very reasonable price. The shades were ordered and delivered very quickly. And speaking of quick, the installation was incredibly fast I had shades installed on five windows and it took all of thirty minutes. The guys who did the installation were not only efficient, but they were very courteous and cleaned everything before they left. I have nothing but positive things to say about the The Shade Company and I would gladly use them again and recommend them highly.

I just installed solar shades for my large windows. I have only good things to say about them and I highly recommend The Shade Company. Everyone - from the sales person, to the receptionist, to the installers were absolutely fantastic. Eran (always ask for him) - the sales person who came to measure my windows was very knowledgeable and explained the process in detail. He came to the apartment four times (because I kept changing the position, function and measurements of the shades) -- always cheerful and helpful -- not a single sign of annoyance or frustration with my constant changes. The installation was quick and painless. After the installation, when I asked for a slight change - they were very accommodating. PLUS, they were less expensive than the other two companies I had in for estimates. And may I add, they always showed up at their appointed time. Don't confuse them with another shade company with a similar name.

After a long research on look, quality and price I choose to go with The Shade Company and I am super happy about it. Roy was great to guide me in the process, I needed 2 motorized so he installed this very nice system that works on long autonomy battery with a very slick remote that works great. Also installed 7 manual ones with metal chain.
The entire system looks amazing, I wish could do all electric but my budget was limited at this time.
Price was the most competitive I could find including online, I ordered few in different t places that I returned because the quality was not good. Just go there and speak with them, save the time I spend on my research you won t be desapointed.

Very punctual, professional and affordable. I purchased blackout shades and I was pleasantly surprised at how smooth everything went. They measured, quick and easy! Next time they installed! Just like that!! Very professional and highly recommendable!!!!!

I got a recommendation form my friend about them. Sent an email and got a quick fast response. Roy my sales rep was professional and knowledgeable regarding all aspects of electrical smarthome project. They also coordinated all work needed with my contractor and the building. Shades are up and connected to my control 4 system.
Approx turn over time was less than a month as well which I expected to be more.

We are very happy with the service received and performed by Shades Company.
The sales person was excellent in recommending the best product for our needs and very courteous.
The installation staff was courteous and did a great job.

Gore and his crew did an awesome job. I had my windows installed 2 years ago and they have stood the test of time through two brutal summers keeping my home quiet and cool. Highly recommend.

Great customer service and a Costco rebate. What's not to love?

Read the fine print before agreeing to your estimate. I got them through Costco, and was supposed to get a cash back, however, they very sneaky changed the material to accommodate the space and wrote in the fine print that there was no costco cash card.

When I called, their reply was that the sales person told me about the no cash card and that I was properly informed.

They are not transparent, so BEWARE! and read

The shades in my apartment were very old (15 years+). The remote control was no longer avaiable for replacement and the motors starting to fail. The Shade company technicians provided a very creative solution for a very difficult environment (high ceiling) and the commercial support was flexible enough to accomodate the services at the deadline I had (I needed to travel). Good job!!!

This is the second time I m using The Shade Company.
7 years ago I purchased manual roller shades, I wanted the remote control version but didn t have the budget for it... I remembered Roy told me I can always convert it to motorized without paying for a new shade, just for the motors, 7 years after Roy installed motors to my 7 years old shades & now I have a great new Toy.

I was looking for good Room Darkening Shade for my bedroom.
Roy came over my place, he was very kind, showed right on time (which is very rare in NYC), he advised me to go with Blackout drapes since I mentioned how sensitive I'm for light, it's was a more expensive solution but I'm so glad I took his advise, I'm sleeping so much better!!!
