It started out simple enough. I applied via linked in went through the entire process without a hitch. background check, verified. Drug test, verified. 3 different interviews. Then they told me that I was their choice. They assigned me an apartment because I'd be living on site. So at that point, I put in my 2 weeks notice with my previous job and started setting up for my new life in California. I packed up my whole life and got on the road a week before my start date as confirmed by 2 different HR staff. 2 days into my move and I was 3 states away from my origin of North Carolina. It was at this point that I get a voice mail from the Jr. HR rep that they had changed their mind. I tried to call them to verify, to see what I could do to help rectify any problems. I tried to contact every single person I had any contact with and they just shunned me. No one would speak to me in any format. Meanwhile, my choices were to continue to California where I have no job and no home OR I could go back to North Carolina where I have no home and no job. the truck and gas ran me $1700 and the hotel stays cost me $400. When I got back to North Carolina all I could do literally live in my truck for the next couple of days. A month (November) later I loose everything I own in the truck and was literally living on the street with my dog. After grinding for months. working 2 minimum wage jobs. and living in a tent I got finally got back to square 1. Today I accepted a job offer out in san Francisco.

This company ruined my life and didn't even offer an explanation. I strongly advise against pursuing a career opportunity with this company.

PS the person they did hire for the position had 0 out of 5 of the certifications I had and 1/3 of the experience. SO it wasn't even based on the fact that they found a better candidate.

Sequoia just acquired Shore Park Apts, and like the old management continues to ignore tenant requests. The catalytic converter was stolen from my car out of my carport at Shore Park Apts ($3K to repair), so I asked twice for management to check their security footage to see if they had any footage of the event. Both times, management promised to get back to me and didn't. It's pretty clear Sequoia management does not care about anything but cashing your check. My neighbor had their converter stolen too, and Next Door shows this happening night after night in Pocket, and management cannot even be bothered to return your call reporting this activity. I'm guessing these security cameras do not record, but management would not even tell me that.

Elevate the everyday... and profits for their firm and investors. Sequoia wasted no time raising rents shortly after acquiring the Eviva community in midtown Sacramento. Studio apartment rent was raised from $1750 to $2000 and single bedroom from $2175 to $2300 within the first month.

The staff are friendly and responsive; however, hang on to your wallet since rent and services come at a premium. Such increases suggest that Sequoia serves itself first in profit rather than its customers, the tenant. Again, the building and staff were great but management is aggressive when it comes to maximizing its top and bottom line.

I've lived at the Highlands Apartments little over a year now, it has been a pleasure living here as well as; interacting with the caring and professional staff. Tia and Crystal has been a jewel to me they always have time to answer any question regarding my lease. Before moving to the Highlands I would pass by from work saying "I'm going to live there". and now I'm here. Tia/Crystal thanks for always being professional and helpful. Oh before I go hats off to the Maintenance Team yes yes they are great.

Be aware of this scum company!!

Be aware of this scum company!!
They post fake job openings all over internet, but they DO NOT HIRE. They just collect people's personal information. Please, if you value your time, effort and nerves, DO NOT APPLY.
Spent almost 2 months waiting and eating fake promises and end nowhere.
