SEPHORA UDC Review

I am currently employed at sephora distribution center in the retail department on the dock I am also holding two positions simultaneously and in my experience you have to watch out for the management for sure I would definitely recommend this company as an employee however the management doesn't treat the employees with the respect they deserve and also biased they will take the supervisors side over the employee lots of favoritism also you have to know someone to get anywhere Doug who is in charge of the whole retail department during day shift basically made someone feel like it was their fault when a fork lift almost hit her and I haven't had the best experience with Doug myself also watch out for Kevin Jones he is in charge of maintenance during day shift the management will throw you under the bus in a heart beat to save their own skin no one has any real explanation why the warehouse runs the way it does everyone just says "that's the way it is" we have power in numbers imagine if the whole warehouse went on strike!!

How could I apply to the warehouse is the an online application or walk in ?? Anyone know ??

What a awful place to work... unless you were with the "in crowd". There are too many places to work in SLC to work here!!!

The job isnt very hard, as long as you stay focused and keep moving youll do great. If you're lazy and cant be on your feet for a shift then go elsewhere. It can get pretty hot during the summers. Also they are diverse and hire anyone so if your concerned about race or religion then dont bother going there. Theifs come in all colors and sizes, that is why security looks at everybody. I currently work there and I of course get upset with certain things like hours as well but I also understand that one side is based off online customer orders so if you get bothered by that you can leave. Everybody makes it sound so horrible but its not so bad UNLESS you're lazy

Terrible company to work for. The staff is mainly Islanders and trust me if you're a small little white girl you get treated like s***. And if any chance you get really sick on the job and you go and tell them.They tell you to go home but that's going to be a point against you. They have such a high turnover rate.Maybe if they were a little bit more nice that wouldn't be such a problem.

Terrible place to work for. Super abusive management that lies and cheats the people who work there. They don't care about their peeps. Dishonest. Corporate knows about it and turns a blind eye. If you speak up you will be harassed and retaliated. Nothing you can do about it. Good luck working for them! Check em out for yourself. They are always hiring...ALWAYS...

This place isn't for the weak but if your willing to push yourself you can go far. I see a lot of bad post on here but those are all people I'm sure aren't the pedigree we want or need if you want a good place to work and a place with room to grow come join the team. Night crew is where it's at hope to see you there!

I just barely started work in here night shift picker/packer. It's not that bad if ur not a lazy ass. I've learned as long as u keep to yourself and hit ur numbers ur good.

Make sure you have your appointment time and number for the rude morning security guard!! Other than the rudeness from security the delivery went smooth.

Have worked here for 6 years I always love coming to work. In the time I have been here so many positive changes have been made that shows you they truly care for their employees.

I worked here a while ago. Another low pay, HIGH EXPECTATIONS and little training job. If you want to go outside during lunch or break.

You have to stand in the security line while the security guard makes sure you didn't steal anything from the company. It reduces your lunch or break time significantly because everyone wants to leave too and they do this everyday!!! I don't know why they do this because they have cameras EVERYWHERE. Why can't they just check people that are suspected of stealing?!?! Makes more sense.

I remember a long time ago having a company meeting in the warehouse. Immediate boss told one woman to stand up after she sat on the floor. Told her she will be fired if his boss saw her sitting on the floor.
I'm sorry that's ridiculous. She just wanted to rest after working hard on her job. She wasn't hurting the company whatsoever. They have so many little policies that are annoying and no one knows them until you get in trouble.

They have really high goals. Move FAST and 100% QUALITY all the time. I agree with every review that says MANAGEMENT doesn't care about their employees. VERY HIGH TURNOVER.
I was MISERABLE working here and I wasn't the only one. I'm so glad I don't work there anymore.

Always like going here great people that do a great job loading and unloading as well as the office people and the guards at the gate checkin!

It's December 19th and were pretty much caught up on Christmas orders.

First warehouse job i ever had and it was really great actually and I usually do office type or call center jobs. Would recommend this employer

Unrealistic expectations. Unfriendly atmosphere. Way too hot with no a.c. what so ever. They don't care about employees only numbers.

Fast loading, security is by the book too which is nice, make sure your ready before you arrive but its fast and friendly service for shipping. I will haul another load for them.

A few days ago I worked in this company But there is a lot of discrimination on the part of the managers they think that they are the owners of that place They are doing whatever they want with the employees so I need to say that this place is not a good place to work right now there and I am thinking of filing a discrimination lawsuit. Action and against these people. Jesse Maughan, Precious Tumplin, Elizabeth. It is difficult to get evidence but I have it.

Well i don't work here but if i did i would probably get fired that same day because all that makeup, ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh (angel voice) that's heaven o my lawd yassss say it with me girls HAAAALEEELUUUIAAHHHH, any way that's why i wont work there. :)

This place is an okay place to work, as long as you can be quick on your hands and feet. Hours were set for 3 or 4 shifts and you hold an rf scanner to fill orders. Nice if you become a permanent employee because you get 20 percent off in the stores and online.

This place is a joke..............got fired for having kidney problems with doctors notes and ER papers.............way not good.........labor board definately will investigate this........dont work there

Bad
Notice all the likes on the negative reviews. That's because the bad reviews are true. Dont let the 5 star reviews with zero likes confuse you. Look at the many likes on the bad reviews. The bad reviews are TRUE. It's not a good place to work. I worked here for 5 yrs and can tell you the truth. They are not an honest company to work for. BTW human resources dept is NOT there for you. It's there to protect and defend the company. Bad management. Bad attitudes. Bad communication. Bad made up on the fly "rules" and "policies"...

The only way that you will succeed here (or anywhere) is having a willingness to work hard. It is not unacceptable to be asked to do different things in this job to be asked to work overtime or even to be sent home early (all in which is covered in the orientation). Everyday is different and management has to do the best they can to make the best decision possible.
If you aren't willing to work hard and do what you are asked then I would assume you would have a hard time anywhere you work. I've worked here for 10 years, worked in all departments and on both shifts. There are good days and bad days of coarse but keep your head up, work hard and you will succeed here for sure.

They don't deserve any star, why ...... because. If you show up before app .they will send you back on street for waiting. That is bad thing time matters for them not for us. They will load you in 3to 4 hours and waiting for for paperwork 30mint to hour .

I agree this place isn't a good place to work for they ask for help and then send everyone home 2 hours after they show up

Sweatshop factory. There is no air conditioning in the factory, it is extremely hot. Only recent refugees from Africa work there for the most part. Tedious and boring and doing the same things over and over again and the 10-12 hours shifts are murder on your feet. If you can get better work, and I sure could, then do.

The positions are easy if you can put up with being on your feet for a long period of time. You meet some great people and can get a lot of overtime during the holidays. The problem is management protecting one another. If you plan on working second shift for dotcom, you will see an older skinny Samoan lady going around treating people like crap. She's being protected by the coordinator, who has the supervisor on her side and it continues up. If you want to work with hard working people with less drama, go to first shift. I give first shift five stars. Don't be a lazy ass if you go to first. Go to second if you plan on being one.

Busy place i work next door to here. They seem like a great company.

I have been working for prologistix for over two months. They assigned me SEPHORA as a picker and packer. I followed all their rules and I'll tell you what I got from both places, I'll tell too why you shouldn't buy in Sephora. Every time you get an item from Sephora you are supporting their abusive, and,UNLAWFUL MANAGEMENT.
I got surgery in my mouth, to treat my periodontal disease. I gave them the excuse letter from my Dr., which said to avoid excessive activities so I asked them to kept me in the packing assignment for a good and better recovery,. They didn't care about it, they sent me to pick, while my mouth was sore, and swollen. Every step felt like hitting my mouth with a hammer as picking requires a lot of walking through all the warehouse and a lot of pulling, liftings, squats. So the next day I decided to pack by my own trying to avoid the walking. Next thing I know they grabbed me and got mad at me, yell at me , and report me for insubordination. I even suffered humiliation by Sephora's staff, they asked me to open my mouth in front of other coworkers to show them what surgery I was talking about. When they realized I was NOT lying they dare to asked me for a second excuse letter. On top all these things they have done to me, they started treating me even worse, getting mad at me all the time for no reason, they openly play favoritism with member of their team and isolate themselves from me because I didn't like them. They pretty much ignored me in the last week. Obviously I just wanted to get the hell out of there. This is when I called the Prologistix main office to asked to work for another of their clients instead of Sephora. Prologistix told me they needed two weeks notice in order to keep a good record with them and possible another assignment. Really? Prologistix/Sephora Take this review as my resignation letter and go to Hell.

Vet difficult and stressful place to work at. Great makeup and great managers however.

I really enjoyed working here for 5yrs. If you work hard you can succeed. But remember any job is what you make it.

Hot inside and unreal expectations for stats for the day. When I tried to defend myself on a new job they moved me back to previous job and it was my first day, because I didn't make a mistake. I don't recommend if your not Latino, because you would be discriminated against.

Show up 15 minutes before appt. If you show up earlier, you risk being told to wait on the street. Must have an appt. number to present to the guard. Gated facility. Lots of room to maneuver. Unloading is quick and they will do a piece count. Remember, behavior breeds behavior.

Its not that bad untill you get your paycheck and relize they didnt pay you the correct ammount

The over all experience for the Job could be improved on with some need newer policies in placed, the equipment could be updated to help with the strain on their Scanner system for the Dot com side of the warehouse.

Friendly staff, work environment was ok. Very effective, no lunches just breaks.

Great place to work. Reading the reviews previuosly posted it makes it sound horable but like most distribution centers they have brought on a large number of temps for the busy season and will hire some but not all witch we are all informed of before starting. As for the tour it is policy that no cell phones are allowed inside the warehouse for the saftey of the employees due to a large number of forklifts in use where people are on foot working and if you are there for a tour of the facility for a job you shouldnt be using your phone. The tour last only 1-2 hours you should come prepared and use the restroom before the tour begins not during. They want people there that are going to be an active member not one worried about there social stats. As for the overtime it is bassed on the orders placed and if you are sent home early in most cases its due to individual performance as long as you do your job and not mess around they will find some work for you to get atleast 40 hrs. If you are there everyday and do your asigned job you have the potential of becoming a full time staff member as i did. I started as a temp and did what was needed to become a full time staff member and i accomplished this within a month of the start date as a temp all you have to do is want it and show that you do with your daily performance.

I don t like the business at all.. they DONT have A/C, so when it s 100 degrees outside - it s 105 inside the building. Don t bother asking for help because they ll send you back and forth & complain about you leaving your station. They only give you 2 20 minute breaks and NO lunch. They lie about how much you receive an hour. It s literally a whole sweat shop in there. Which is sad because you see everyone in the building sweating & working their **s off while the managers sit in the back room with A/C saying.. go faster!! You didn t reach your goal All that money they make & they can t upgrade their system LOL

They rarely allow you in until 15 minutes before your appt time.

Very good operation. Security is present and appropriate. The operation is well run. Staff is very good and capable. Arrive about 30 minutes before your appointment; any earlier you will just sit outside and wait.

I really miss working here. This is for ppl that work not for ppl that like to play. I worked 10 hour shifts for 4 days. I loved the overtime. There is Mandatory overtime, but they let you know ahead of time. Again must be flexible and a hard worker. I am no longer here , I relocated to AZ. I was a picker/packer and I hit my numbers consistently, and I really miss working here.
