We had an excellent meal last nigh at Semolina. Everything we ate was delicious and cooked to perfection. I love that the ingredients are fresh and that the menu changes seasonally. I also have to give a huge shout out to our server Karen - she was so personable, made good suggestions about what to order, and made our dining experience great. Looking forward to eating here again!

Best pasta I've had in a long time...our waitress Karen was extremely knowledgeable in every aspect of the menu. She even recommended the right wine pairing for our meal. She was right on point! I can't recommend this place enough. Make a reservation, place gets full pretty quick.

Have been here twice. The food is always so fresh and they change the menu every week. BYOB. The staff are incredibly friendly. Prices a bit expensive - for example, $33 for 4 scallops, but still delicious so it makes up for it. Right in the middle of town. Great ambiance but weird cow art on the walls... I mean well done, but weird.

Likes idea of farm to table. Like listing of local source of food on reverse of menu. Good byob.

Limited menu but good choices and variety. Food was excellent.

Our first time there with old friends. Part of group of 4 running 5 mins late. Hostess nasty...was going to give away table in 10 minutes. Wouldn't seat 3 out of 4 while 4th was finding parking.

Business model not convenient for friends dining and talking. Only allowed 2 hours and constantly reminded and rushed throughout entire meal.

When asked for 5 mins to review dessert menu...was told "I'll give you one" and hovered at table.

Food a 5 star, business model a 1 star.

Good for a rushed quality meal. Not for an easy going enjoyable meal with conversation.

I had the immense pleasure of dining at Semolina this evening. The staff is kind, courteous and knowledgeable concerning every item and ingredient on the menu. From appetizer to dessert, my palate was graced with depth of flavors that were a welcomed experience. The well thought out dishes were obviously crafted by a chef with an artistic mastery of flavor and texture pairings. I can not recommend this establish enough. BYOB and reservations needed.

On a side street off of Broad, Semolina has a good number of tables with less foot traffic nearby. The service was impeccable, suggestions spot on, particularly the pork chop that is a perfect fall dish. A simple, yet telling detail... the bread was amazing, sourced from Brooklyn. We ll be back.

Food was very good. Experience would have been better if the hostess didn t ask us to leave while we finished our bottles of wine after dinner. We ordered 2 appetizers, 2 entree's, and 2 coffees. Soon after my last sip of coffee while trying to finish my last glass of wine we were asked to leave by the hostess to accommodate another party. It made the meal feel rushed and cheap. I understand them needing the table, but you need to allow people to finish their meals before kicking them out of the restaurant.

My family has ordered take out from Semolina twice since lockdown started and both times the food has blown us away. The flavors are understated, but so fresh and delicious! Portions are a good size and can easily be split between two people. We re going to make Semolina a permanent part of our weekly take out routine!

We went to Semolina to celebrate my mom s birthday and it could not have been better. They were very busy for a Thursday night - be sure to make a reservation. We didn t mind waiting a few minutes because the host was so friendly and we had a great conversation with him. Our waitress was also really personable and provided great recommendations off the menu. The food was even better than the service though. The mushroom appetizer was unique and a big hit. The papardelle bolognese was awesome. Everyone recommended the pork chop entree to the point where it seemed a little too hyped up but oh my god. It was the best pork chop any of us had ever tasted. Flavorful, just the right texture, and came with a healthy serving of bacon jam which was unreal. I always appreciate a good meal, but I ve never heard my mom rave about food so much. From the service to everything we ate, it was a fabulous experience and we will for sure be back.

Was pleasantly surprised by this restaurant. I'd give it 4.5 stars. Every pasta dish was very good. The Chicken Burata was very good albeit the sauce a little sweet. The desserts were good as well except for the rice pudding. Overall it was a great experience. The entire staff loves what they represent and it shows through their kindness and passion for all their food.

No idea how this place has such high reviews. Seems like it s all the workers posted. Staff is extremely rude and unprofessional, food lacks taste and is extremely salty. Servers and manager are unprofessional and lack basic personal skills. Plenty of other places to eat at in red bank. Stay away from this place. Trust me!!!

Small place but read all the great reviews so gave it a go. Brant was our waiter, informative and friendly. Started with a ricotta and tomato tart, crispy peach salad(I should've asked for no red onions), and both were awesome!
Had the scallops as one entree and the pasta and eggplant as all pasta is made fresh daily. Everything was awesome! Was early in the evening so not as loud as others noted however since BYOB, and if you get a lively bunch, can imagine getting louder. Will be back again for sure!

We have waited to get a reservation for a while. ...

We have waited to get a reservation for a while. One came up last minute and we raced over. At the 5 minute late mark we got a call in the car, explaining that they had another party in 1.2 hours and they would need us to agree to their policy that you will leave the table for the next guest. We agreed, and my husband dropped me at the door to get seated and order. But the next rule is we won t seat you if your whole party is not here, even if we can see him parking. The entire delivery of the rules from start to finish is pretentious and rude. They offered no solutions (in retrospect they could have let me look at the menu at that time) they were unkind and would rather let the table sit empty, so it did.
I don t care how good your food is, if you aren t nice we can always find somewhere else to eat.

If you are a foodie you will love this place.

If you are a foodie you will love this place.

However, do not misunderstand or try to slide by on their seating policy. THEY MEAN IT. I'll bet that a number of negative reviews for Semolina are from diners who thought the restaurant's rules didn't apply to them, and who became angry with the staff when they enforced those rules (I've seen it). Plan ahead, be on time, and realize that the empty table across the dining room might already have someone else's name on it.

Dined on a Saturday night 9pm reservation. Restaurant was packed. Definitely need a reservation for Friday or Saturday night. This was our 2nd time to Semolina. Started with the roasted carrots which were good. Tried the grilled pork chop which was amazing, very juicy and cooked to perfection. Orecchiette was excellent as well. Both visits to Semolina our server was Karen. She does a fantastic job and really makes you feel welcome. We can't wait to go back!

A "straight-shooting" restaurant. Nice things you would make at home if you were a good chef. There's a real focus on what they do; not everything, just everything done well. BYOB. Call at least a week in advance, but a table for two at 9pm can usually be found at a moment's notice.

Had the pleasure of enjoying their private chef experience last evening. I personally can not eat seafood but hate making a fuss about it. I informed the chef and they were amazing about it. I would highly recommend this experience to anyone and it was the best pork chop I have ever eaten! Def going to the restaurant next week!

In a word: fantastic! You must make a reservation to guarantee eating here. The menu changes often because they're true blue farm to table, and their Italian-inspired offerings are great. The homemade pasta with their perfectly done meats, cheeses, and seafood are great and the portions are perfect for dinner. Prices are very reasonable for what you get. Their servers are very attentive and knowledgeable in the menu. This is in my mind the top option for Italian in the area.

The ambience started it all off. Simple, unpretentious and homey. Then add an enthusiastic staff and I was happy even before the first dish arrived. And our waiter knew every dish inside and out as if he had prepared each one himself. Listening to him spend time at a table who where not foodies patiently explain the entire menu in great and passionate detail was outstanding.

And then the food. Layers of flavor over subtle textures and more layers. The Fennel appetizer with orange was an amazing blend of acidic and sweet. And the Burrata with a mushroom puree was stunning in both simplicity yet intense earthy essence.

We then had a intermezzo course of Saffron Linquine with PEI Mussels and Lobster Pasta with an Arriabata sauce. Both were delicious and balanced all the components exactly the way that nature intended. The spicy red sauce, usually presented Fra Diavolo style, was much much more. Spicy but in a way to complement the lobster not overwhelm it. And the exquisitely roasted garlic in the Saffron Linguine brought a subtle touch of heat the the otherwise sweet and savory pasta. And both were cooked to the special toothiness delight.

The entree of Chestnut Agnolotti with Fried Sage and Prosciutto was nothing short of amazing. The balance again excellent where every flavor swirled without any one taking over. My Pork Chop over a jam braised red cabbage and creamy celeriac was an exposition in hearty food with a dynamic back flavor of complexity. Juicy, thick and so tender I almost did not need a knife. Again, a spectacular course.

It was almost a shame to have to move on to dessert.. But wow.. It was difficult to decide if we liked the Caramel Budino with sea salt and cocao soil or the Egg Nog Panna Cotta with Fig jam better. Both disappeared in a blaze of competitive spoon action.

Bottom line. 5 stars. With the constant menu turnover, the farm to table freshness, this is a keeper...

My wife took me here for a special dinner. We bought a bottle of a nice red to have with dinner. As soon as we sat down, I quickly (2 minutes tops) ran to the bathroom. By the time I got back we already had sparkling water, and our bottle of wine was opened. Shortly after, some piping hot and delicious bread was served.

The menu, as in most farm to table establishments, changes weekly. We immediately gravitated to the borratta mozzarella, and pork belly appetizers. We ended up ordering both. The portions aren't overly large so this was a good amount of food for the two of us. Both were incredible. The mozzarella was served with marinated mushrooms and prosciutto. Every flavor popped in it's own but worked better together. The pork belly was perfectly cooked, with it's meaty and melty parts.

For dinner I ordered the scallops, perfectly seared on the top and bottom. My wife got the 14oz pork chop. We both agree it was probably the best pork chop either of us have ever had. That says a lot.

For dessert we shared a chocolate ganache a which was a great way to finish the meal.

Service was wonderful. Our waitress was fast to respond and checked in often without being bothersome. The busser picked up our empty plates promptly. Overall I'd say this was a really great experience and I would definitely recommend anyone to try or come back to semolina.

Added bonus: the cow and llama paintings. Love it!

We went to Semolina for our anniversary, after waiting since they opened to have a kid free night. We were not disappointed; the food is outrageously good. I like their use of seasonal ingredients and frequently changing menu. We had a really interesting appetizer, two entrees with each of us unsure which was more delicious, and two unbelievably good desserts. Service was just the right amount of attentive.

Easily my favorite restaurant! This place is incredible on all levels, the menu is always changing and always delicious, with some of the best pasta dishes I ve ever had. It s wild how the menu is ever changing to incorporate seasonal ingredients yet everything is consistently incredible. Then there is the pork chop.... oh lord is this thing amazing. I cannot believe how juicy and just downright incredible they can make a pork chop taste. Overall, you should be going here, it blows everything on Broad Street away, and the service is just as good as the food is! Great people, great food, and a great time.

A fantastic restaurant for the down town Red Bank area. The dining area is quite small but they have plans to expand in the near future. The food and service was excellent and priced very reasonably. Definitely a good place to bring a date to impress them or a place to eat when your having a night out with friends. Just be aware it is BYOB.

Really enjoyed dinner with the wife and family here at Semolina. The house made pasta dishes are all delicious, and the small plates are still sharable as well. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable about the menu and farm-to-table philosphy, and more than happy to offer suggestions. Can't wait to try some of the entrees next time as the pasta was hard to pass up on our first visit.
