I worked for SPR for 5 years and loved it, had a fantastic RM, asset manager and analyst that always supported me. Worked with great people and had great friends that became family! The only reason I left is I moved to Nevada, otherwise I would still be with the company.

I had a very similar experience to the most recent review. The final bill I received when I moved out included the line item of "$300 - security deposit" . They had paid back my deposit (as mandated by the WA Governor during the pandemic) and then charged me for this in my final bill, like it was an expense I had incurred. They also had very very high charges for paining and cleaning that were significantly above any actual costs they would have incurred. Their final bill was less a reflection of reality vs. a brazen attempt to maximize revenue for a departing tenant.

Their online portal was broken and could not accept an ACH bank transfer, so they were able to pocket an extra $25 or so in fees (almost certainly above what they were charged) for my paying by debit card. Multiple emails have gone unanswered. If this company really cared, they would respond to emails and phone calls vs. responding to online reviews in order to give the impression that they care. Very poor service. Extra lame for making an effort to pretend to care when being so damn poor in customer service when it's not in the public domain (as can be seen by several of the reviews below).

Edit: Really says a lot that email after email goes unanswered but there is a response on here within hours. And you can see from the other comments that I'm not alone in having an issue with response. It is clearly the way you operate. Your operation is driven by $$$ and nothing else, and now you are being called out on it. For the record, I don't and did not have a pet. Just ads to the impression that you guys are making it up as you go along. Yes, I paid through central billing, which included $10 in fees for the privilege plus a $20 surcharge. Literally money for nothing. If you want to respond, please reply to any of the emails I have sent on this matter, including the information I've requested.

They've made some unfriendly policies to react the Washington State law in regards to covid-19 for their own good. No pre-inspection is authorized per their policy; They hold your security deposit until you pay their exorbitant price for the cleaning. DO NOT CLEAN since they will charge you anyway!

SPR totally ruined my lovely memory of living in one of their properties. We spent 8+ hours on cleaning and were still charge for a ridiculous amount of money. I emailed them and simply asked for an invoice or a photo for evidence. They never responded but kept sending the same email. The only person who reached out was a professional collector in their department. He only called you at the lunch time or 7 am in the morning to piss you off and ignored your questions/demands.

It has been 7 months since I moved out of a property owned by this place and I have yet to receive my security deposit back. This company does not care about the tenants that lived at one of the properties they managed. This place is just a bunch of crooks. Grove at city center is one in the same. Crooks

The management at my current apartment complex changed hands, however prior to that I moved from a two bedroom to a one bedroom which involved me getting a refund from all prior deposits. I received a final incorrect invoice for an amount of $251.93. I notified leasing office to let them know of the error, which was prior to the property changing hands from Security Properties Residential. They placed a call to them notifying of the error and what the correct amount should be per the updated invoice they sent me for $476.99. I was told 2 weeks before the check would arrive. 3 1/2 weeks later,, Security properties residential set me a check in the amount of $225.06. I was told by my current leasing office that since Security Properties Residential was no longer managing them that I had to contact Security Properties Residential corporate office directly to get the remainder of my money. I have left them a message over a week ago and to date no response. Since on their page they love media attention so much , I will give them plenty of that if they do not contact me and get my money back to me.

I currently reside at one of the properties. I recently experienced a flood in my apartment on February 15th 2021, which caused damaged to the carpet and walls. I called and I was informed that the damages to the carpet and walls would be fixed. Since the time of the flood the padding underneath the carpet was replaced. The carpet was left loose from the floor not sealed or attached to floor and no one has come by to fix or replace the carpet. The maintenance team stopped by, tested the walls and advised me that the walls are dry and are not in need of any work. It is now May 6 2021, and my carpet is still damaged from the flood, I have called and emailed the office, left messages, and no response. I have called and emailed the general manager and received no answer, voicemail is full unable to leave a message. I have also placed an order on February 15th 2021, for my faucet to be replaced because hot water is flowing out of both sides of the spout. I have expressed my concerns to the office, the general manager, and to the floating managers temporary handling the office duties onsite and still no response as to if or when these issues will be resolved.

If I could give them zero stars I would.

If I could give them zero stars I would.

These people charge you for absolutely everything. When you leave one of their properties, they over charge you for anything they can, charge you for leaving, charge you for providing a final bill, and charge you 5% transaction fee to pay the bill (when usually debit card transaction fees are no more than 3%).

It's telling that they have people responding to online reviews, and a call center to chase up payments but it is almost impossible to speak to any human who is able to help answer any questions. The only humans I spoke to were those chasing up an unpaid but inflated bill, and they could not answer any of my questions. They gave me an email address to write to, but my emails were either ignored or I got unsigned copy and paste responses.

The property itself was decent but over priced.

I should have read the other reviews prior to investing time/effort/money in to cleaning my apartment.

The management team understood that my move-in form and how I left the apartment are identical. Still charged me ~$500 all told for cleaning, labor, and touch ups that were both unnecessary and obviously ridiculously over target. This makes zero sense.

Pretty lame after surviving an entire year with their abysmal management to then get kicked in the teeth one last time as I walk out the door.
