For 8 months I paid Security Alarm Now and found out it had been installed wrong on the entrances and had been without alarms going to ADT monitoring all those months. SAN refused to refund my money of hundreds of dollars and cut off my account. They are the worst alarm company I have had and the most ineffective installers in the industry. Don't waste your money.
Total rip off. My system was cancelled by me due to poor customer service immediately on installation. But the company kept billing me for a year.
I have utilized this company for nearly 3 years now without any issues. Installation of my equipment was done quickly and professionally. It works great. Billing each month has been right on. No problems here folks.
Terrible company. We were told if we moved, service would continue at our new home. Our new home is newer and completely wired for an ADT security system, but they won't honor our contract since the model number on the faceplate is different and no longer for sale. Now they are forcing us to purchase $600+ of equipment or they will send our remaining contract to collections. Nice right? You don't need ADT, connect your security system up directly through your local police and fire. They were beyond nice and completely professional with every guarantee in the world, now after we signed up nothing but threatening and aggressive customer service. AVOID ADT.
How could anyone bare to use this company when their commercial alone, (still running on the east coast ad-nauseum) is beyond insanely stupid. This guy "Mike" thanks the dumb blond with her skirt hiked up and her legs strategically placed to be the center of the commercial, "for having him on?" On what?? It's not a tv show! This is the lamest, most demeaning- sexist, idiot commercial on the broadcast. Makes the company look pathetic!
I would give 5 stars because there service is good but they also lie to their customers. In August I signed up for the basic plan. I was also signed up for referring people, so my mother signed up but spent almost $1000 on additional equipment. In February 22 I was called by a woman named lacrita, she informed me that mine and my mother's visa cards would be sent out in 3-5 days. On February 23 a woman named amber called me and said the cards ( plural ) were processed and sent out and would be here in less than 5 days. I received my cards ,but to this day I have been told several different dates that my mother's card would arrive. Today I was told by a girl that it's our responsibility to read the fine print that they could change the date in which the cards could be sent out. So my advice to anyone thinking about A D T security it is a good service but don't expect to be told the truth about anything dealing with money cause that's all security alarm now is in it for.
I would never recommend this ADT re-seller to anyone. After seeing a television ad featuring what I thought to be a reputable football player (Danny White you should be ashamed to be associated) and terms and conditions that appeared to be fair and competitive, I called to inquire about their services. My mistake. The phone salesman was extremely pushy and advised that it would not cost me anything to get a quote on my home alarm system. He was obviously taught to never take no for an answer. He was a obviously a good student. He replied to all of my inquires with "that is a good question now when can we set your installation appointment." He finally wore me down and we set an appointment.
The technician arrived and made a bad situation even worse. He advised that I needed "additional protection" and his presentation was both confusing and aggressive. Now my cost was going to be $2,500. He even went so far to advise me that they constantly monitored their competitors and told me numerous "facts" about one competitor that were absolutely false and misleading. He left the house (3) times to call his manager to see about getting a better deal. He first advised that each window needed a sensor but that changed to a glass breakage detector that could do it all. He was pushy, unprofessional and would not leave. I was getting afraid of his even being in my house. Finally he advised me I had (7) days to review the contract and could cancel the entire deal if I was not satisfied during this period. He rushed me through the contract and told me "don't worry about that." The final cost ended up being $1,000 plus the nearly $60/month monitoring fee. Far and above what got my initial interest.
(3) days later I received a letter from the company and in it was the advisement that I really only had (3) days to cancel my contract and it happened to be on the day the letter arrived. Needless to say, voicemails and emails sent immediately to my original salesman went completely ignored.
Calling the next day to discuss the situation proved to be an exercise in futility. A rude customer service representative basically told me to bad. A request to talk about the situation with her supervisor was met with her telling me it didn't matter anyway, her supervisor would just tell me it was too bad also and would not let me even talk to this person. Emails sent went unanswered, further calls were me with representatives that advised that helping their customer was very important to them and then they launched into the "too bad" scripted response.
Deciding that the President of the company was probably unaware of this type of customer service, I sent a detailed email to him directly explaining the experience I had with his company. Of course, true to form for this company, Security Alarm Now, it went unanswered. Of course when I checked the Better Business Bureau on this company they had an "F" rating. So, it appears that my only course of action is to get this word out to anyone and everyone that is even thinking of using this company for their home security needs to quickly run away. DO NOT USE this company. Don't believe any of their advertisements. I have filed an official compliant with ADT and I do not plan to stop there. I may be in a "too bad" situation but they are going to see my poor review of their company anywhere I can find to file one. I hope this review can save someone from the same bad experience I had.
