BEWARE DO NOT GO TO THIS AUTO CENTER!!!!!!!! STEER CLEAR!!!!!!! I had a strange experience and have gone to the corporate office to complain. On May 16, I purchased 4 new tires from Sears Auto Center at 1802 Lawrence and had them installed on my truck. I went to Sears because they have a warranty and because I have used them in the past. During the process of installing the new tires they performed an inspection. The inspection called for an alignment on the Front Total Toe. They claimed to have performed the alignment. After the work was done I picked my truck up and noticed there was a lot more play in my power steering I also did not think the alignment was that much better that my truck felt the same. But because it did not bother me before I just drove it BIG MISTAKE! (To give them credit they did let me know that the power steering had a lot of play in the gear box, however I am wondering if they may have caused this too, since I had not noticed any looseness in my steering before taking it to them). Jump to 2 weeks later and I was in a minor fender bender. I took my vehicle in to be inspected for any damage telling my regular mechanic (Gateway Auto, which I highly recommend BTW. I have been a customer since 2004). I told them that the vehicle seemed to be off alignment, that I had just had the vehicle aligned at Sears and that it must have been due to the accident. Both the claims adjustor and my mechanic inspected my vehicle and told me that the tie rods, hardware around etc. (my truck is an old ford ranger with major RUST) did not look like they had been touched. They both surmised that it did not look like it had been touched in years! No tool striations on the rust! I called Maurice who is the manager explaining what my mechanic and insurance adjustor told me and he will not even consider that the alignment was not done. I offered to bring my truck back for him to inspect but bottom line he claims unless I had brought it back the very next day there is no way to prove it. Obviously customer trust and rights mean nothing to him. He has to be lying. I am out $85.00 for an alignment that never took place. Apparently they just took the old tires off and put the new tires on, never aligning my vehicle. I have filed an issue of complaint with the Corporate Sears Center however my chances are slim to none getting my money back because I was in that unlucky accident. DO NOT TAKE YOUR VEHICLE THERE UNLESS YOU ARE WILLING TO TAKE IT TO ANOTHER MECHANIC TO HAVE THEM INSPECT IT TO CONFIRM THAT THE WORK WAS ACTUALLY DONE.

Despite some negative reviews, I decided to try this location out because it was close to my apartment. I had all four tires replaced, an oil change, and a realignment done on my 99 Corolla. I was pleased with this visit. I drove off and it was fine for a number of days. However, I was driving on the highway a few days later and noticed that the steering wheel was shaking pretty significantly. I called up Sears and asked if it would be possible to bring the car in that weekend because I knew I wouldn't be driving for a few days anyway. I spoke with Maurice and he insisted I brought it in that night because he wanted to be sure that there wasn't anything seriously wrong, as the shaking pointed to a few things potentially. I was appreciative of his concern and flexibility to get me in that night. I brought the car by and it was set to go in another hour. They determined the tires needed to be re-balanced but there was nothing else wrong. I appreciated the fact that they also did not even attempt to charge me for this visit, as they realized I had just been in for the tires a week earlier. Overall, I was happy with the service and will be bringing my car back. --- Update: My car ended up needing new brakes and this was just a warning sign. While I had this done at another location preferred by my family (who still own the car), I appreciated their time and effort in looking into this! Who knew that a shaking steering wheel would mean worn out brakes?

Came here after my tire was shredded by a pothole. I was told that I could replace only the single tire despite my Subaru Forester being an AWD. This ended up being untrue, confirmed by the dealership and manufacturer. The replacement and service was overpriced, slow service and ultimately a lack of knowledge that required me to replace all tires and could have yielded significant damage to my drivetrain. Will avoid this place in the future.

UPDATED: So unfortunate I have to update this review after my excellent first experience, but my second visit was a complete disaster. SECOND VISIT: At my first visit a test showed I needed an alignment. I made an appointment for a Friday at noon and took off work early. After the appointment I was heading to northern Wisconsin so was counting on the service to make sure the long trip didn't wear my tires unevenly, plus scheduled it early enough to make the 5 hour drive no problem. I showed up and when I let the employee at the computer know I was there for my appointment they said they'd be right with me. I continued standing there, waiting and expecting them to be ready for me soon. They were not and after about 5 minutes of standing there like an idiot, I went and sat down to continue waiting. Another 10 minutes later the employee finally came over to me. They let me know that they would not be able to take care of my car until the end of the day and they couldn't have me out of there until 6pm when they close. Apparently one guy was on vacation and another called in sick. So really only one of those impacts scheduled appointments. If you're down a guy you take less appointments. I explained that I was about to drive a long distance and that was not going to work. They went into the shop to talk to the (only?) mechanic working that day. When they came back they said the best they could do was to get me out of there by 4pm. Needless to say I was very upset and did not stay to get the service and will never go back. Completely unacceptable. Do not accept appointments you cannot keep. FIRST VISIT: After an awful experience ordering tires online for installation at NTB where I showed up for the appt and they didn't have the tires, everything here was perfect! Ordered the tires on Amazon and chose my appt location and date/time. Showed up at scheduled time and A.C. was on top of everything. He greeted me right away and got my service going, and helped multiple other customers while I waited. Great customer service. I was in and out in under an hour. Highly recommend this shop and very impressed with the Amazon tire purchase process. Free shipping, easy scheduling, great communication and price, and you know going in that if anything goes wrong Amazon will make it right.

Blonca is very unprofessional and rude! She acts like she don't want to work there. She took 4 hrs to give me a call back on my inspection. She also told me someone would call me back the nxt day with a estimate since she deleted it out the system and no one did. Wish i could give 0 stars for her customer service skills. Arnetha is very professional on the other hand... Hire more ppl like her bcuz blonca is bad for your business.

Brought our van for a concerning noise from a rear wheel before a long road trip. They were friendly, professional and helpful as he let us know we were missing caliper bolts on one of the brakes.

It's 6 years later and I just had another fantastic experience at the Sears Auto Center on Lawrence and Ravenswood avenues in Chicago. It was the end of the day once again and my dad's car wouldn't start. Since I use the car to take care of him, it was important that it's always in working order. He asked me to run to the Sears to get the battery fixed. It was ten minutes to six and Blanca and Luis went out of their way to change the battery right away. They even stayed 20 minutes late to do so. Fantastic service. Helped me fix my flat tire at the end of the day! Make sure to get warranty program if you get tires it covers any damage for four years

Terrible service! I don't know who could possibly have rated this place above one star. Clearly those people work/ own this location. I waited for 3 hours for an oil change. There were 5 "service members" in the garage, and I was the only customer! How is that even possible!?! I have nothing good to say about the experience.

I booked and apt for 12 for an oil change. I am still waiting 2 hours later. What is the point of an apt then. A car with no previous was about to be serviced before mine. With this kind of services wonder why are they bankrupt. Lady tried charging me more than what i was quoted the previous day. Waste of my time. Last time here for sure...wWalmart is way better

NEGATIVE FIVE STARS I came to my 1pm appointment for an oil change, that would "be finished within 1 hour." There were no other customers there. 90 minutes later the manager, Maurice Owens, "with 40 years experience" claimed the filter was seized, they'd been working on it for the past hour and that trying to remove it would cause damage to my Camry's engine that would cost me the oil change plus $60. The filter wasn't seized, they were using the wrong sized tool and trying to rip me off. I took it to Jiffy Lube. No problem. My car was ready in 15 minutes. I will never go to this Sears again.

I went to have a battery changed, met by a grumpy, rude office staff, no information, rude to many customers during my 45 minutes. I asked for an estimate and she said she didn t know how long but it would be a further long wait. I left and went to autozone who had my battery fitted in 15 minutes with a smile!

Took my car into get some repairs and part of my service was a coolant refill. When driving my car the next day my engine overheated. The coolant reservoir was bone dry. Requiring me to purchase my own coolant and refill it myself. I expect my car to be in working order having been serviced by a "professional." No refund offered after a phone call. Won't be returning.

Very dissapointed! I do not recomend anyone to go there even to buy stuff. It took 2 hours for an oil change. That is ridiculous! Also the price on the website doesn't match the price they charge at the shop. The aswer was your car does not qualify for that price. Abslolutelty insane. It is better to go to your car dealership. Also they give me a paper that reflects the alignment. How could you give me some informations about alignment when you did not check that? Big time waist of time and money! Hope you all consider my review and the best you can do as a customer is not to go there and as a owner of a bussines to appreciate everyone's time! Ps. They left a lot of dirt spots on my car.

Today I Went to ask about Balancing Prices, the person taking care of me acted like i was wasting his time. Then he told me to excuse him for a minute he went back, he never came back, so I left. About a Month ago I went to ask about Tire promotions I found on the Sears website , another gentleman also very rude told me that they didn't have my tire size, he never gave me time to tell him my car model. Very disappointed. two different situations, two different guys. same bad service.

Keept the dam tires and installed them there . Thank god old man marice didn t pop off on me I was ready. I liked the lady there she was nice . However they keeped my perfectly good working tire there with out my consent I got to go tomorrow to get it . wild Wild West out here i knew there was something odd. We made an appointment online for 3 pm for an oil change. At 445 they said it would be another hour and a half. They thought there was no problem with that. Then the girl at the counter was rude to my girlfriend. Complete waste of time. Sears is dumpy. So are there employees! Boo Sears

I just called to schedule an appointment for my brakes. After a minute of rings, a lady answers rudely and is extremely short. Maybe they were busy but I got a good sense as to why the rating is so low for this place...I'll save my time.

I'd like to express my complements to Sears Auto Center Manager (1802 W.Lawrence Ave. Chicago Il.) Mr. Maurice Ovens who is simply the best in all means - personal and professional !!! His center is extremely organised up to small details ( what nowadays happens not that often), very clean and perfectly equipped. But what is more important is that Mr. Owens and his team knows how to make customers happy !!! Stay this way ! With all respect and best wishes Steve Rovner AWP Chicago, 08-12-2018

"Improved" service. I was planning oil change for my Volkswagen Touareg, called to schedule an appointment (1802 Lawrence location). I was told that I would need synthetic oil ( about $170) but after short discussion I was able to get appointment for regular oil change ($47). When I arrived the auto service manager (Mr. O) told me that I cannot get the oil change because my car requires the synthetic oil and he does not know why originally I was scheduled for the regular one. My argument that my car's manual book does not indicate strict synthetic oil requirement and I used to have the regular oil change in this location did not have effect. In summary, I spent my time to get to this location, met unfriendly people who tried to provide the most expensive service. This was justified by Sears auto service rules ('quite clever'). My impression is that the management trying to push customers to spent more money and giving misleading information about providing service. Be aware! Avoid at least this location.

I had an excellent experience taking my Audi to Sears auto for new brakes. I worked with Blanca Tirado who was extremely informative and went out of her way to provide amazing customer service. My brakes were half the price of what Audi quoted me. Blanca kept me informed during the entire process and made sure that I was 100% satisfied, even informing me of available rebates I could apply towards my purchase. Thank you, Blanca!

Blew out a tire on Lakeshore Dr late Sat afternoon, called Sears to find out how soon they could get a replacement. First I was put on hold for 15 minutes, then hung up on. Called back, was put on hold and hung up on again. Called back, was told to bring the car in - even though they had no idea if a tire was available for my car. Put me on hold then hung up on me again. Wasted a half hour of my time while I'm sitting on the side of the road. I will never use them again.

Very slow service for anything that needs to be done. They do not accommodate appointments the same day and keep you waiting past their "promised time" on the workorder. Tried it for a change but I'll return to the Just Tires up the street next time.

The repairs to my car were done well, but in regards to customer service, this Sears Auto is lacking. I ordered new wheels and tires, but wasn't allowed to schedule an appointment to have the parts installed. I was told to come first thing in the morning, which I did but was told I'd have to wait 3 hours for a mechanic to do the work. When I told them to just load the parts in my car and that I would have the work done elsewhere, they changed the estimated wait time to 30, and the with was cooked in that time frame. I saw one mechanic "go off" on another customer who was dissatisfied with her wait time. Instead of taking the time to listen to the woman, the guy took her cousins personal, and stormed off. He even lied and said that he was be yelled at, when he had no right to be angry considering that he was the cause of the problem.

I'm changing oil on this locatin for almost 3 years, and always had good experiences. Today I dropped my vehicle at 11 amand lady at the office said tgat should be ready at 1 pm. Usually I get text that vehicle is ready for pick up,but I didn't,so I called and answer was car is not ready yet. So I came at 4 pm to see what's going on. And the answer was ,they are under staffed at the moment, and car is not ready. I understand situation,no staff to work,no problem, happens, but at least let me know before dropping car,so I can reschedule for some other day, which is not problem at all. Like this I lost 6 hours, and it's just bad customer service, informations are not honest. Unfortunately I will not use Sears services any more in the future.

Terrible service and that is if you are lucky enough to even see anyone! No hellos are any other greetings. Be prepared to bring back your vehicle several times before it's properly repaired. This has been going on for years without any productive help from Sears management!

Brought car in for 2 new tires. Made an appointment the previous day, confirmed they had tires in my size. Arrived to my appointment the next day, a bit early. Was told that they do not have tires in my size and they do not know if they can order them...I drive a Camry. Anyway, the service tech said that they can repair my tires. Quoted about $20 a tire, and 45-1 hour. I am still waiting here (2 hours layer), lol this is ridiculous. Other Sears auto centers are run a lot more efficiently than this place. I guess I will go to one of the many other tire places around the city. I cannot disapprove of a place anymore than here. In Chicago there are some great places, don't waste a lot of your time here.

RIPOFF ALERT. they had my car for 3 days (13 workable hours) to do a simple 1-2hour wheel alignment but couldn't even do it correctly. made appt a week in advance, showed up 30min early about 2:30pm. around 7pm she called to say unable to even start on your car today, so much for appt. she said they can start work next morning so I left car there overnight. around 3pm following day called to check progress and was told car was ready and I should've received a text. I said I didn't receive text. paid for ride to sears only to be told by same lady (helena) she looked up wrong name eventhough I literally spelled it for her. she didn't know when the car would be done but when I complained she went into the back and had them bring out my car without it being properly repaired just to save face. drove off notice bad alignment and called sears to complain. took it to another Sears which did nothing noticable. felt unsafe driving the car took it to Firestone with no appointment and the job was done right by end of the day. the 2nd sears gave me a printout showing the 1st sears didnt do proper alignment and the Firestone gave me printout showing 2nd sears didnt do the job right either. sears has definitely earned the bankruptcies. I will never was my time and money using sears stores.

Awesome customer service. The gentleman there is very helpful and nice. Also takes his time with explaining everything to me clearly. Oil changes and services are quick. Gives me enough time to workout, get some groceries and pick up my car. I've never had any issues here. My original location was the Portage park sears auto center. Was heart broken when the shut down years ago. Just happy this gem is still in Chicago.

I booked an appt. with them over the phone. When I showed up, they said they were too busy. Said I could drop the car off and pick it up 4 hours later, if I wanted. No, what I would have liked is a phone call ahead of time so I wouldn't have had to waste my time driving down there.

ordered a set of 4 tires of amazon to be delivered and installed here. it was very busy even though I arrived when they opened, which is to be expected in such a densely populated area. however, i was there for 2 hours before they decided to tell me that only 2 of my tires were delivered. an easy mistake to make. had i really needed all 4 though, i would have been irritated at having to return again. as i really only needed the front 2 tires, i simply called amazonnfor a refund on the 2 that were undelivered.

Usually mediocre, but had one terrible experience. - they gave me key to another customer - while waiting for customer to return my key the associate told me my oil change would be free Doesn't sound too bad, right? Well, I'm suspicious they never changed my oil to begin with, because my car was parked in the same spot where I left it, no new oil sticker was put on the windshield, oil life was not reset, and radio was still on full blast. All signs the car wasn't touched. I think the associate saw my car in the lot when he was nervously waiting for the customer to return my key, panicked because he realised the oil hadn't been changed, and rather than telling me the car wasn't done offered me a "free" oil change so I wouldn't have to pay for something that never happened.
